Mahira instantly clapped back with a savage response.
Aap ki zehniat aap ke lafzon mein saaf nazar aati hai. Meri kamai halal ki hai, warna aap ko achay school bhejnay ka zima mein uthati! Jahan tak baat rahi 2 takay ki.. hum jaisi auretein apney aap par qeemat nahi lagati, na hi kisi aur insaan par https://t.co/BghSMGrgVC
Following this, industry veterans including Humayun Saeed, Shaan and Humaima Malick jumped in to defend Mahira.
Humayun Saeed, who also included Mehwish Hayat in the coversation, asserted that a nation can’t progress “until we learn to respect our women and treat them with dignity.”
So unfortunate that there are still people who point fingers at incredibly hardworking, talented and self-made women like @MehwishHayat & @TheMahiraKhan. They’e role models for millions! We can’t progress as a nation until we learn to respect our women and treat them with dignity
Mehwish Hayat thanked Humayun for standing up for them.
Sad to see that when a man, a colleague, a friend stands up for a woman in this “MeToo era” even that isn’t acceptable .. or appreciated. Thank you @iamhumayunsaeed for your support. Glad to see that there are still a few gentlemen around these days with a sane voice https://t.co/Fhjs1JA3NH
Shaan remarked that Mahira has earned her respect through nothing else but sheer hard work.
Zubaan or alfaaz dono sai ap ka mayaar nazar ata hai.. bohat sharm a rahee hai apko Pakistani kehtay huway .. Mahira Khan is a Pakistani ⭐️ she has earned respect through her work .. learn to live with that #pakistanalwaysfirst
Meanwhile, Humaima Malick gave the troll a hard-hitting response.
Bibi Jee hum sub tu apnay jawab dey gay tum Kia moo lay k khuda k pass jaogi … jo Aik momin or woh bhi Aik aurat ko is tarha mukhatib karahi ho waqai bohat achi insaan or musalman ho tum https://t.co/40pf5wEcWK
In response, Mahira hit back at the user with a savage tweet.

Whether you agree or disgree with someone’s ideas, thoughts or profession, no one gives you the right to abuse or belittle someone. About time we understand that.

Following the attack by lawyers on the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on Wednesday, in which four people died, actors Mehwish Hayat, Shaan and Mahira Khan took to social media to condemn the incident and voice their concern.
Beyond dismayed to see these images & hear about what is happening back home. What hope is there for our nation if everyone resorts to mob violence to resolve their issues?! You’d think that these lawyers whose job is to uphold the law would know better#Lawyers#PICunderattackpic.twitter.com/COuuuow2AV
Even in WAR you do NOT attack HOSPITALS!! These are the law makers, the providers of justice, the educated ones of our country.. scary scary to see. #Lahore#Lawyers
#wuklagardee lawyers get justice for the people not implement injustice on them . identify the negative elements that are bringing disgrace to a prestigious and respectable profession .our Quaid was a lawyer who fought for people’s rights #protectyourown
Lawyers on Wednesday stormed the emergency ward of the PIC, vandalising public property, setting a police vehicle on fire and attacking provincial minister Fayyaz ul Hasan Chohan.
The attack resulted into deaths of four people, while several patients were forced out of the building to sit on footpaths. The mob also destroyed millions worth of health equipment inside the hospital and caused damaged to the hospital building.
The shoot for Fahad Mustafa’s upcoming film Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad, in which he will be sharing the screen with Mahira Khan for the first time, has begun before time and both the leads are sharing behind the scenes snippets from the sets.
Fahad shared a video of himself practising his action stunts. The actor can be seen doing a backflip before going into an attack position.
Here’s a picture of Mahira reportedly from the sets of the film.
Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad will be directed by Nabeel Qureshi and produced by Fizza Ali Meerza. The duo have previously delivered hits including Load Wedding and Actor in Law – both of which had Fahad in the lead.
Speaking to The Current, Nabeel had shared that the film will be a satirical action-comedy – something along the lines of their previous film Actor in Law.
The film will mostly be shot in Karachi and is expected to release in 2020 on Eid ul Azha.
Bilal Ashraf has been voted as Pakistan’s sexiest man.
British Pakistani showbiz reporter Asjad Nazir, who founded the list and compiles it annually, shared the news on his Twitter account. The list is based on votes from fans around the world.
At number seven, Bilal was the only Pakistani to feature on the top 10 list based on votes from fans around the world. Hrithik Roshan topped the list followed by Shahid Kapoor (2), Tiger Shroff (4), Zayn Malik (5), Harshad Chopda (6), Bilal (7), Mohsin Khan (8), Virat Kohli (9), and South Indian superstar Prabhas (10).
Speaking to the local media, the 39-year-old shared that he was surprised by the news and felt “beyond humbled.”
“I am beyond humbled to be featured as part of a list among such legendary gentlemen and that, year on year, has generated so much attention globally. This has come to me as an amazing surprise and such moments make the struggle and commitment we all put into our work all worth the while. This encourages me to try my best to further myself in my field. I’m extremely grateful for this recognition.”
Bilal from his latest film Superstar
Bilal, who is 39 years old (yes 39) was born in Karachi. He made his film debut in a cameo appearance in the 2014’s thriller O21. Two years later in 2016, Ashraf made his lead acting debut in Janaan, a romantic comedy, alongside Armeena Khan and Ali Rehman Khan. The next year he appeared in the war film Yalghaar and the romantic drama Rangreza. Bilal latest and most recent project was Superstar, with Mahira Khan, which propelled him into the spotlight and established him as an actor who is here to stay.
Meanwhile, Bilal, in an exclusive video with The Current, revealed how he achieved those abs, which contributed towards his sexiness.
“I think the first thing is to eat healthy. You are what you eat,” said the 39-year old. “If you eat clean, eat in moderation, apart from the occasional cheat meal [you’re good to go].”
Watch him share all the details in this video:
Other Pakistanis to feature on the list included Ali Zafar at number 12, Fawad Khan at 14, Ali Rehman Khan at number 29, Sheheryar Munawar at number 43 and Azfar Rehman at number 49.
Shoaib Mansoor’s Verna didn’t do too well at the box office, but the movie is an important step towards discussing issues that plague our society. Pakistan’s superstar Mahira Khan takes the lead in the film, Hamza Ali Abbasi’s wife and a great actor in her own right, Naimal Khawar is also in the film, as well as Haroon Shahid and Zarrar Khan.
Mahira Khan plays a rape survivor
The film revolves around a couple Aami (Haroon) and Sara (Mahira) and how their lives change after Sara is raped by a governor’s son (Zarrar Khan). After she is raped, she vows to fight for justice.
Aami and Sara are a happy couple before their lives are ruined
The film was directed by Shoaib Mansoor, who had two super hits before, Khuda Kay Liye and Bol but Verna didn’t receive a similar response. Criticism revolved around a disjointed script, bad audio and weak storytelling.
The film was made in 2017 but will air tonight, Saturday November 16th, on HUM T.V. at 9:10PM.

It was a historic day for Pakistan, India and their relations as the world witnessed the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor – an initiative that will allow 5,000 Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit the second holiest place for their community on a daily basis without a visa.
The opening ceremony was performed on both sides of the border by Prime Minister Imran Khan on the Pakistan side and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Indian side.
Like the rest of the country, Pakistani celebs including Mehwish Hayat, Wasim Akram, Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed, took to social media to express their joy on this ‘corridor of peace’ and praised PM Khan and his government for taking this step and seeing this through.
The opening of the #KartarpurCorridorForPeace in time for Guru Nanak’s 550th Gurpurab is a real milestone. It’s a sign of true religious harmony & how open hearted Pakistanis are. All too often men build walls & not enough bridges .. #Kartarpur#Kartarpur2Khalistan2020
PM Khan’s cricket buddies Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar applauded him for this efforts.
Our PM just keeps knocking it out of the park! The opening of #KartarpurCorridor shows who we are as a nation & the direction our country is heading towards. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that Pakistan is a dignified country of peace.Welcome our Sikh brother & sisters
I welcome the Sikh brethren to Pakistan. #KartarpurCorridor is a road to peace & religious harmony. Beautiful scenes at the opening of corridor. I can see the priceless happiness on the faces. Special contribution of @ImranKhanPTI & @sherryontopp is highly appreciated. pic.twitter.com/RrKfok7oVB

Must commend the efforts of everyone involved in the successful inauguration of the #KartarpurCorridor. Indeed a proud moment for Pakistan and a much needed step towards greater inclusivity, regional peace and happier people
As the #KartarpurCorridor opens, #Pakistan has won my heart. What a win for diplomacy and a lesson for the subcontinent. Respect and tolerance for each other is the only message that should echo in the region. Congratulations Pakistan!
To many more corridors of peace & prosperity inshAllah ❤️❤️ #KartarpurCorridor Always always proud of my country & my prime minister @ImranKhanPTI To better days….
PM @ImranKhanPTI leading from the front. #KartarpurCorridor strengthens spiritual ties between Pakistan & the world’s Sikh community. In a world of hate & division, @ImranKhanPTI unites hearts.
Armeena Khan and Mehwish also took this moment to compare the Kartarpur Corridor Project to the Ayodha Judgement that was announced earlier in the day.
The #BabriMasjid verdict & the opening of the #KartarpurCorridor 2day hv shown how tolerant the 2 respective countries are towards minority religions. While we’re opening up to other faiths, our neighbours seem 2be suppressing them further. Why can’t the world see what is going on? pic.twitter.com/Re9bMwBieA
Mahira, who previously visited several refugee camps in the country with UNHCR said she was “grateful and honoured” with the position.
She added that she was “proud to be born to a motherland that has opened its arms to refugees for over 40 years.”
Grateful and honoured to be a @Refugees goodwill ambassador for Pakistan Proud to be born to a motherland that has opened its arms to refugees for over 40 years @UNHCRPakistanhttps://t.co/kGagHGJLlv
In the video shared by the UNHCR, Mahira said: “Pakistan has set an example for the world, where a country has hosted refugees for the last 40 years. Four decades.”
“This is one cause because I feel so strongly about it, this is something I want to talk about, especially as Pakistan’s UNHCR National Goodwill Ambassador.”
Speaking further, Mahira said, “It was amazing to see despite the violence that they have faced, or the conflicts that they faced, they’re resilient people, they have defied all odds and they’re hopeful. They actually are hopeful, and, from now on, all we have to do is not give up.”
“This cause is not limited to a country and should not be limited to a country. So, I think first and foremost, there should be some sort of responsibility sharing,” the actor concluded.
