Mahira Khan continues to enthrall social media audiences with her graceful outfits and her gorgeous glow as she danced the night away celebrating her marriage to Salim Karim. We’re ranking all of our favorite looks Pakistan’s sweetheart wore during the festivities.
Looking like a sunflower in her Elan saari, we’re putting this one on top of our list.
Talk your talk, whatever, but we’re ready to die on this hill because Mahira proves you don’t need flashy photography, cakey makeup and an emerald encrusted jora to look like the belle of the ball. She looks picturesque in this elegant yellow sari made by Khadija Shah. Also with her hair in a pigtail and her glowing face, this is going to be the look women will sought to recreate for their weddings.
Second one will obviously be her Faraz Mannan gown which put the world in standstill
This was the look that had to be the highlight of celebrity weddings this year. Mahira looked absolutely breath taking in the ivory ensemble crafted with silver embroidery, paired with an elegant, no makeup look and a diamond set.
If pastels were the theme for the nikkah, then you end the wedding celebrations with a bang wearing a poppy color like red. Mahira looked gorgeous in this lengha choli by Zara Shahjahan, looking equally glamed up and classy at the same time.
Mahira stayed true to keeping things classy yet elegant for her wedding as she started the celebrations with her Bismillah where she wore a gorgeous two piece ensemble from Umar Sayeed couture.
This is definitely a good color to wear, but personally Mahira looks better in pastels than she does in dull colors. It’s a pretty outfit, but had the silver craft been replaced with gold or green it would have been among our top three favorite looks worn by the actress.
Actress Mahira Khan has kept us enthralled with a steady stream of wedding pictures on her Instagram account, emphasizing the dedication and love that went into planning the looks. She moved social media users last by sharing how she honoured the women in her family by starting the wedding ceremony with a prayer, as per her mother’s wish, and wore a motia in her ear to commemorate her dadi.
Now Mahira has shared pictures of her Mehndi ceremony, and added how she honoured her best friend Asim Raza by wearing a string of motias in both her arms, “he is Asim and I’m his mahiru.. forever InshAllah.”
Mahira Khan is currently sharing more pictures of the intimate wedding festivities where only her close friends and family members were present. Yesterday, she shared pictures of the mayoun her childhood best friends had thrown for her, thanking them in the caption for showering immense love and joy for her special day.
“So when I told my friends about the wedding,” the ‘Raees superstar wrote on Instagram. “I also laid out a few ‘requests’. This is how they went –
Me – Guys please I’m too old for dances, can we not have dances ? Friends – No. we have to. M – Ok just one? F – Hell No. M – Ok please no dholkis before Bhurban. We should all just chill. F – talk to the ✋
As time came close and they all were over everyday.. I realised they just wanted to celebrate me and us. My childhood friends, work friends, my cousins… had seen it all with me – held me when I was down and clapped when I succeeded. I had done the same with them.
To these insanely amazing humans I call family. I love you all so freaking much. Alhumdulillah. MashAllah. ”
Here are some of the people present in the pictures, whom Mahira calls her closest friends. The people present are makeup artists Anam Farooq Khan, Adnan Ansari and Babar Zaheer, stylist Nida Khan, and Mahira’s former manager Seher Hafeez. Among her childhood friends are Feeha Jamshed, Sana Hafeez Shaikh, Narood Dharani and Sarah Ajmal.
The celebrities present in the picture are Momal Sheikh, who is currently starring in Mahira’s drama ‘Razia’, as well as singer and actor Azaan Sami Khan.
Mahira’s childhood friend and fashion designer Feeha Noor Jamshed shared a message on Tuesday about how she was the one who linked up Mahira and Salim together eight years ago, writing that she ‘manifested this union’.
Among the celebrities present, actor Sheheryar Munawar was invited to the actress’s wedding reception, and on his Instagram he penned a long note celebrating his friendship with Mahira and gushed about her gorgeous wedding.
“Meri Pyari Muni,
From our first meeting a decade ago when you asked me who i was and what business i had being there ( you have a knack for setting the tone in the first meeting ) to dancing all night and pouring our hearts out to each other, knowing we both have “halka paits” … “but mahira this one you can’t tell anyone” – “sherry i’ll kill you if you tell anyone – and i mean ANYONE” , From having different methods and annoying each other on sets to being each others confidants and support system on the toughest ones. From Competing to be @asimrazatvf favourite child to standing up for each other when it comes to everyone else – it’s been a beautiful journey, one i wouldn’t want to be on with anyone else. As you embark on a new journey, here’s celebrating you and wishing you all the love and magic the universe has to offer ! Even though i’ve shared the wedding stage with you on film so many times and was making fun of people for crying at the mehndi – seeing you walk down that aisle had me bawling you and saleem both looked beautiful and you both lucked out ❤
Pakistan’s sweetheart Mahira Khan was a picture of serenity at her intimate wedding to tech businessman Salim Karim.
There was barely any information of who was invited to the private occasion, where only close friends and family members, along with a few figures from the entertainment industry, were present. In our previous story, we were able to decipher that among the attendees were PPP Senator Sherry Rehman, fashion designer and Mahira’s childhood best friend Feeha Noor Javed, and social media bloggers.
However, it looks like some celebrities did attend the occasion. Producer Nina Kashif shared pictures of the event on her Instagram stories, where director and actor Sarmad Khoosat, actor Shehryar Munawar, singer Azaan Sami Khan, fashion designer Asim Raza, director Nabeel Qureshi could be seen.
The producer, who partnered with the ‘Raees’ actress to purchase the rights of Faiqa Mansab’s book ‘This House Of Clay and Water’ shared some pictures from the mehndi where actress Momal Sheikh was also present, who is starring in Mahira’s currently airing drama ‘Razia’.
The sister of the groom Farah shahid Karim had shared a picture of the family along with the groom with the caption: “My brother’s wedding”
It was a picture of serenity, one that won the hearts of millions of Pakistan. A 38-year-old single mother looking stunning in a light outfit walked down the aisle, shedding tears of joy as she married the love of her life, Salim Karim. For the past three days, Mahira Khan’s wedding was all anyone could talk about, and one many women are expressing joy about. One user shared a picture of Mahira as a bride, alongside veteran celebrity couple Manzar Sehbai and Samina Ahmed (who both married at a later age) with the caption “Love and life are worth trying for”, which pretty much sums up why we are feeling so emotionally attached to the event. Not because it’s a celebrity who got married, but because she chose to marry on her own terms, and kept advocating throughout her career that families can be complex and unique.
Mahira Khan married during the beginning of her career, to Ali Askari, whom she called her “childhood sweetheart” in some interviews. This decision, she revealed during a session at Faiz International Festival, was something other people urged her not to follow, because it might harm her career.
“You’re just 21 years old!’ Mahira recalled Ghazanfar Ali telling her, when she was working as a VJ.
“Career, career, career, it didn’t make sense to me. I just wanted to get married,” said Mahira. She spoke about how she objected to the concept that a film heroine is not allowed to get married or have a baby, and has to, in a way, remain “an untouched girl” to the public, while the same isn’t expected from the man.
The couple got divorced in 2015, but Mahira maintained that it was not out of enmity, as the two continued to remain close friends even to this day. She maintains a cordial relationship with him to this day
“I think that Azlan’s father and their family and my family, we are on the same page, when it comes to Azlan,” the actress told Fuchsia in 2021. “I’m very close to them, even now, as I have grown up in their house. It takes work, it takes swallowing your pride at times, and it takes trying to understand the other person. And for your child’s sake, you do it. If you’re lucky that people from both sides are good and looking at the child’s well-being and true happiness, then you forget the bitterness.”
She also revealed recently to Frieha Altaf that their relationship wasn’t abusive, and the two continued to remain good friends to this day, while ensuring that Azlan remained their top-most priority.
Such words coming from a woman hold a lot of weight as she is currently one of Pakistan’s top-paid actresses, and also one who comes from a country where divorce is treated like a plague. A 2021 report said atleast 19,875 households in Pakistan were headed by single mothers, but the majority of our pop culture loathes divorcees and does it openly. Only this year, two of the most critically acclaimed dramas consisted of women forcefully married to a man their family chose.
Mahira’s marriage is a lighthouse moment, proving that families can comprises of two parents and a child, but can also include a step-parent, or even just a single mother. Her wedding wasn’t typical, a powerful reminder that you can settle when you want and choose how to celebrate your wedding. One picture that made the most rounds on social media and earned a lot of praise was when the actress walked down the aisle with her son.
Many users highlighted the beauty of this picture, an actress being given away by the son she raised on her own as a single mother, to the man she married for love. There’s nothing more beautiful than this moment, no matter how many celebrity weddings we watch in the future, watching Mahira gracefully embrace her ‘imperfect’ family, while encouraging other Pakistani women to do so, is the catharsis we all needed.
Pakistan was overjoyed a few days ago when superstar Mahira Khan and businessmen Salim Karim got married in a gorgeous ceremony held in Bhurban, where only close friends and family of the couple were present. However, as more pictures from the event emerge online, we are bringing forward the big names who attended the gorgeous ceremony.
Pakistani restaurateur and film actor Sikandar Rizvi shared a picture of the wedding today where he posed along with the groom and the rest of the guests. From the picture, we can see Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid- Chinoy’s husband, Fahd Kamal Chinoy, who is the CEO of Pakistan Cables.
Fashion stylist and blogger Samiya Ansari, who runs the Instagram account swearuponcoco was also among the attendees, as she shared a picture posing with Mahira’s brother, Hissan.
One of Mahira’s closest childhood friends, fashion designer Feeha Noor Jamsheed, posted a screenshot shared by a celebrity account of Mahira’s wedding video where she was seen crying.
Feeha also shared a long note yesterday on how she played a role in creating a match between Mahira and Salim, writing that she had vouched for his character to the actress.
PPP’s Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman had also attended the wedding, and shared a picture with the groom with the caption: “Here’s to you both @salimkarim ♥️ and Mahira. Khush raho abaad raho.”
News sources said that celebrities were not present at Mahira and Salim’s wedding, but we have reason to believe director and actor Sarmad Khoosat was among the guests at the wedding, as he is spotted in Samiya Ansari’s Instagram stories, wearing what looks like wedding clothes.
Actress Mahira Khan just shared more pictures of her gorgeous mayoun ceremony, and revealed the endearing way she honoured her mother as well as her grandparents. Mahira’s mother was in a wheelchair, but did everything she could to ensure that her daughter’s special day was celebrated to the full.
The actress shared that despite her mother relying on a wheelchair to move around, she had overseen where to place the decorations and furniture. The ‘Humsafar’ actress further wrote that her mom had a simple but endearing request: the ceremony would start with a prayer.
“My mother had one wish… to start the wedding with a dua. My beautiful Ama, who is in a wheel chair – one would think she can’t do much – but really, she can do everything and anything. She sat and managed the decoration downstairs, the table, the moving around of furniture anddd she was ready dot on time..
Alhumdulillah for our parents.”
Mahira also shared that she chose to honor her nani and dadi by wearing a bud of motia in her baali
She also expressed her gratitude for her childhood friends, who organised a mayoun for her, calling them “my sisters”.
Yesterday, the ‘Raees’ superstar’s childhood best friend Feeha wrote a long note congratulating her best friend for her marriage, and shared it was she who had brought Mahira and Salim together.
“…to this beautiful couple who are in every way the best partners I have seen in the longest time. To the man I vouched for 8 years ago, to the woman I call my sister. Because… ‘I wanted the best for My best..’
Somewhere in those years I had manifested this union ..to witness the magic of their love and especially their union can’t be described in words. I leave you to feel…
to this incredible woman I called my sister and this beautiful man I love I now can proudly call my brother.
May you look back 30-40 years down the line, old and wrinkly but young in love. May all the moments you weave in the coming years make your hearts smile and soul dance. Ameen.”
After superstar Mahira Khan shared pictures of her intimate wedding ceremony to Salim Karim, an influx of celebrities, including Bollywood stars like Sonam Kapoor, sent their blessings and happy wishes to the gorgeous couple. Fashion brand founder Feeha-Noor Jamshed also sent her blessings to the happy bride, sharing how she “manifested” their union.
In a post shared on her Instagram stories, Feeha posted a short video of Mahira and Salim’s wedding, stating that she vouched for Salim’s character.
“…to this beautiful couple who are in every way the best partners I have seen in the longest time. To the man I vouched for 8 years ago, to the woman I call my sister. Because… ‘I wanted the best for My best..’

In her next post, Feeha shared a picture of Mahira along with her son Azlan, lauding the actress for raising a good person:
“..I’ve told her this before…the best role she’s ever played and will ever play is that of a mother. Azlan is an extension of her.. and my nephew is the fienst of men I have ever encountered..he stands so proud next to his mama welcoming one of the finest men I have seen in a while..to my Zanu (azlan), Mahira and Salim..may Allah’s winds take you to limitless skies & may his Noor guide you all the way.”
Feeha has been a strong supporter of Mahira’s career over the years, with Instagram posts championing the most important moments like her film with Shah Rukh Khan ‘Raees’ for which she shared a screenshot of the two actors and wrote:
“Dreaming is essential. You dream when you have the courage to face its manifestations. This is your gift from the universe @mahirahkhan because you dreamt and you Dream Big! I love you! What else can I say?”
If there is anyone who knows who you truly are, it’s your friends who knew you since you were a child, the way Feeha knew Mahira. We’re so happy that Pakistan’s sweetheart had an incredible support system who knew what she needed in a man.
Congratulations once more to the happy couple. We pray for them to create a safe future together.
Mahira Khan’s wedding has been the talk of the town since Monday, when two short snippets from the event were shared online by the actor’s manager Anoushay Talha and her brother Hissan Khan. The actress later shared a longer video and photos of her marriage to long-term partner Salim Karim.
However, what is making Twitter users more emotional than the bride and groom is Mahira’s grown up son Azlan, shedding tears of happiness as he accompanied her down the aisle.
For many users, seeing a woman getting married again and that too accompanied by her son, whom she raised as a single mother, was a heartening thing to witness.
“ok but mahira and her son holding hands on her wedding day is making me feel a lot of good emotions. this is everything,” one user wrote.

Users shared clips from Mahira’s wedding where Azlan could be seen sitting next to the actress during the Nikkah, and no we’re not crying either, it’s the onions.
Mahira’s son walking her down the aisle and sitting with her during the nikkah is just so beautiful. im not crying. im not crying. #MahiraKhanpic.twitter.com/LDMBjFwBQy
Some users shared a comparison picture of Mahira holding Azlan when he was a child, to the moment when he walked her down the aisle along with her brother. “Mahira’s son being all grown up, and walking her mom down the aisle, has to be one of the beautiful thing I saw today, such a precious moment omg”

Many users pointed out how this moment was poignant to witness because a divorced woman, something our society deeply loathes, established a successful career and raised her son, and then got married to the person she loves with her son walking her down the aisle? We want more women in Pakistan to get such a similar happy ending.
During an appearance at the ‘Fwhy podcast with Frieha Altaf’ Mahira shared how she married her childhood sweetheart Ali Askari, sharing how the two continued to remain close friends in order to raise their son Azlan, her main priority. She revealed the two had evolved into a modern family where respect for each other’s partners prevails.
It seems like it’s not just Pakistanis, but our neighbours across the border tears are also overjoyed at Mahira Khan’s gorgeous wedding to long-term partner Salim Karim. On Tuesday night, social media users shed tears of happiness at the short video the actress shared on her Instagram, featuring a voice over of her betrothed giving a speech at her wedding.
Prominent Bollywood celebrities were among the countless users who congratulated Pakistan’s sweetheart for her marriage, which included Sonam Kapoor who had written:
“Congratulations beautiful girl ❤️ God bless you both ❤️ .”
Rhea Kapoor wrote: “Congratulations”
Actress and dancer Malaika Arora wrote: ‘Beautiful”
Actress Mouni Roy and Indian sports star Sania Mirza wrote: “Heartiest congratulations to both of you. Wish you the happiest most meaningful journey ahead ❤️ ”
Famous playback Indian singer Harshdeep Kaur wrote: “Congratulations beautiful soul”.
The ‘Humsafar’ actress shared gorgeous pictures of her wedding photoshoot along with her son Azlan and her husband Salim, with fans expressing their joy at the actress finding true love and happiness.
