    Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Dubai trip took an unexpected turn, sparking rumors of his arrest.
    The singer’s detention has been making headlines on social media. Details reveal that Khan was detained at the airport in Dubai following charges made against him by his former promoter and manager Salman Ahmed. Mainstream media also broadcast the news of his detention.

    Reports suggest that singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was detained at Burj Dubai police station during his visit to the UAE. He was in Dubai to perform at various musical events.
    After separating with his previous manager Salman Ahmed, who filed a lawsuit against Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in Dubai and other locations, the qawwal has been embroiled in an ongoing legal crisis.

    Khan posted a video message on Instagram to clear rumors that he had been arrested.

    Khan said, “I have come to Dubai to record my songs. All the work on my songs is going great. Everything is fine here.”

    “I’m just asking my followers to not believe any rumors. I am now working on several songs and will return shortly with a global smash hit tune. I’m asking everyone not to believe the rumors that have been spreading about me.”

    ‘We are embarrassed’: Shoaib Malik condemns ‘violence’ in Sialkot, demands punishment for ‘culprits’

    Pakistan national cricketer Shoaib Malik, who belongs to Sialkot, has condemned the ‘violence’ in Sialkot by a mob.

    Taking to Twitter, the cricketer said: “My heartiest condolences, I stand with the family of the deceased & strongly condemn this act of violence.”

    He also said that what happened there should not have happened. The cricketer also demanded punishment for the culprits.

    He further added: “What happened, shouldn’t have happened, we are embarrassed. The culprits should be punished at the earliest… #Sialkot.”

    Former captain of Pakistan cricket team Shahid Afridi also expressed his thoughts, sharing a Quranic verse: “Whosoever kills a person … it shall be as if he has killed all mankind.”

    Similarly, Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez expressed his grief on Twitter.

    “Condemning horrific attack on a factory & shameful incident in Sialkot. As Pakistani i wil call it a black day for our society,” he wrote while adding hashtags of #Sialkot and #Justice.”

    The gut-wrenching incident took place on Sialkot’s Wazirabad Road, where workers of private factories brutally lynched a Sri Lankan national, Priyantha Kumara, on Friday.

    The nation was shell-shocked and disgusted when the Sri Lankan national was brutally lynched and his body was set on fire by the mob. The sickening incident outraged the nation as the civil and military leaders denounced it as “horrific” “shameful” and “extra-judicial vigilantism”.

    Several gruesome video clips shared on social media showed a mob beating the victim while chanting slogans against blasphemy.

    President Arif Alvi said the vigilante attack has nothing to do with religion as Prime Minister Imran Khan promised that those responsible “will be punished with the full severity of the law”.

    Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted that the “horrific, vigilante attack” on the factory and the burning alive of the Sri Lankan man was “a day of shame for Pakistan”.

    “I am overseeing the investigations and, let there be no mistake, all those responsible will be punished with the full severity of the law. Arrests are in progress,” he added.

    Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar tweeted that he was “extremely shocked at the horrific Sialkot incident”.

    According to the latest updates, more than 100 people, including 13 of the main culprits have been arrested.

    Police is identifying all the culprits using CCTV footages.

    Meanwhile, the IG Punjab has ordered officials to submit a report within 48 hours.

    National Bank manager killed by guard ‘for blasphemy’

    A National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) manager has been shot by a security guard in Punjab’s Khushab district over blasphemy allegations, police reported.

    According to reports, the incident took place in in Quaidabad. The victim, Malik Imran Hanif, was first taken to a local hospital, however, the nature of his gunshot wounds was so severe, he was shifted to Services Hospital in Lahore, where he succumbed to his injuries.

    The guard who killed Hanif claims to have done so over blasphemy, but Khushab District Police Officer (r) Capt Tariq Wilayat said that it was too early to confirm this.

    According to initial reports, the two had been arguing for some time before the firing took place. Reportedly, the guard had been fired a few months back but had recently been rehired.

    The DPO felt sceptical of the guard’s blasphemy claims and said that it was likely the incident was due to personal grievances. However, a video of the incident emerged on social media, where the guard could be heard saying that the deceased manager had “insulted Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)”.

    Multiple videos of the occurrence emerged, in which the guard was seen being met with by a group of supporters, shouting slogans as they walked on the street, and then meeting the leaders of a religious group, all of whom raised slogans and addressed supporters from the rooftop of the Quaidabad Police Station.

    Another video showed the uncle of the deceased denying the guard’s claims, saying that they were Muslims, and had not insulted the Prophet (PBUH). The uncle asserted the killing was due to personal reasons.

    Human rights groups say blasphemy laws are often misused to persecute minorities or even against Muslims to settle personal rivalries. Such accusations can end up in lynchings or street vigilantism.

    Syeda Marzia Al-Zahra, who was appointed as Pakistan’s first-ever woman station manager in Lahore was removed from her position by Pakistan Railways a few hours after her appointment.

    As per reports, a union of station masters allegedly severely opposed her appointment and threatened to protest against the admin if the notification was not cancelled.

    Speaking to Independent Urdu, Union Central Chairman Muhammad Irfan said it was against the law and the civil rights of station masters.

    However, Zahra said that she would continue supervising the office of station manager being ATO-1 of the PR’s Lahore division under the law.

    “Though I cannot look after the post now under the new notification, I being an ATO-1, can exercise my authority to supervise this post. And I will do this. Office of Lahore Cantt station master also comes under my supervision,” she explained.
