Mansha Pasha says her upcoming drama is not inspired by Bollywood film ‘Judaai’

Ever since the teasers of Mansha Pasha, Sonya Hussyn and Zahid Ahmed’s Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida released, audiences have been speculating and discussing the drama’s striking resemblance to Bollywood film Judaai starring Anil Kapoor, Sri Devi and Urmila Matondkar.

Following extensive debate on social media, Mansha took to social media to clarify that the story of her upcoming drama is inspired by the Sindhi folk tale Lilan Chanesar. The actor added that the Bollywood film was also inspired by the same folklore. According to Wikipedia, Judaai is about a woman, Kajal, who lured by wealth, asks her husband, Raj, an honest engineer, to get married to Janhvi, the rich daughter of his boss. However, Kajal soon realises that the wealth has pulled her away from her family. The film also featured a song Mujhe Ek Pal Chain Na Aye which was copied from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s qawwali Sanu Ek Pal Chain Na Aave.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that Zahid has no idea that the drama’s plot was “inspired” or copied from somewhere.

Coronavirus: Mansha Pasha urges everyone to do their bit

With cases of coronavirus close to 250 in Pakistan, celebrities, politicians and health experts are requesting everyone to do their bit in ensuring that the virus does not spread. One of the most challenging tasks is making people understand the importance of social distancing considering that the virus is highly contagious. With workplaces are shutting down and companies switching to work from home, daily wage earners in the country are expected to be hit the hardest as their services will no longer be required.

Mansha Pasha, in a recent tweet, urged her followers to do their bit and help out those most affected by the setback.

She also proposed the damn fund be used to battle this unexpected crisis.

Earlier, Mahira Khan had also requested her followers to practise social distancing.

  • Celebrities condemn violence against Muslims in Delhi

Violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) have been taking place in Delhi for months now but the situation appears to have worsened dramatically after shocking incidents of police brutality at universities emerged in the past couple of days.

As per reports, over a dozen people were killed with over 200 people injured in the violence in North-East Delhi since Monday. It is pertinent to mention here that US President Donald Trump was in India during the time of these protests.

With #DelhiBurning and #DelhiViolence trending on Twitter since Monday, many celebrities from Bollywood and Lollywood have come forward to speak out against the targeted brutality against Muslims in India.

Hamza Ali Abbasi, who is among the most vocal actors, was the first to raise his voice.

Hareem Farooq raised a very important question.

Actor Mansha Pasha also wrote in a tweet, “So terrifying to see what is happening in India. Prayers for all minorities and all the people in India fighting and protesting against these bigots.”

  • The weekend of fashion fails

    The weekend of fashion fails

While the rest of us were glued to our TV screens to catch the last episode of Meray Paas Tum Ho, our celebrities were attending the Hum Style Awards in Karachi. The same weekend the Grammys took place in Los Angeles which means that there were a lot of red carpet looks to debate over. However, there was little to no ‘fashion inspo’ considering that our stars did not exactly put forward their best fashion fronts.

Here is the fashion rundown from the past weekend.

    Nay – Momina Mustehsan

Red seems to be Momina’s favourite colour. Either her hair is red or her outfit is – and in this case the amount of red in this outfit is a bit too much. Plus her hairstyle is just too basic and her makeup typical. Considering it was the Hum Style Awards, the singer could have experimented with her look.

    Yay – Ayesha Omar

Ayesha Omar is the ultimate style icon and here’s proof in case you needed it. Ayesha looks absolutely glam in this outfit by Elan.

    Nay – Mansha Pasha

From the stockings to that embroidery to that boring hairstyle, Mansha’s look failed to hit the mark.

    Yay – Mahnoor Baloch

Mahnoor Baloch can make anything look good.

    Nay – Ghana Ali

First of all, what is that design? And secondly, what is that fitting?

Also can we take a moment to discuss how bad the background wall. Totally takes the attention away from the person.

    Nay – Rubya Chaudhry

    No words.

    Yay – Reema

The evergreen Reema can give the younger lot a run for their money with her sophistication.

    Nay – Sana Fakhar

The hair, the makeup, the dress, the yello Chanel clutch – so many things wrong with this look.

Now that we’re done dissecting the Hum Style Awards celebrity looks, onto the Grammys now.

    Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka has been trolled enough for that look, so we’re not going to say more.

    Cardi B

Uhm, from that purple eyeshadow to the hairstyle, what was Cardi B was thinking?

    Camila Cabello

This outfit is a mess and not a hot one.

Mansha Pasha defends ‘Meray Paas Tum Ho’

As Meray Paas Tum Ho inches closer to the finish line, the hype surrounding it is increasing. While some love the show, others are criticising it for being misogynistic and sexist. Nonetheless, everyone agrees with the fact that the show is one of the biggest hits of recent times.

Mansha Pasha, in a tweet, congratulated the entire team of the drama for its success adding that “one may disagree with personal opinions but no one can deny the success and the talent of everyone involved”.

Soon after, the actor started getting trolled for supporting it. However, Pasha had strong responses to all the criticism.

Using Game of Thrones, Hannibal and You as examples, Mansha explained that a drama should be seen as entertainment and people should not take it seriously or get influenced from it.

When someone brought in Khalil ur Rehman Qamar’s problematic statements, Mansha remarked that “a writer’s personal opinions should not be confused with his work.”

Did you know that Mansha has also acted in a drama written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar?

At the end of it all, Mansha thanked her fans for engaging with her and sharing their perspective on the matter.

Mansha Pasha is a headstrong journalist in ‘Kahay Dil Jidhar’

After the smashing success of Laal Kabootar, Mansha Pasha is returning to our screens with Kahay Dil Jidhar in which she will be playing a badass journalist.

Starring opposite her is Junaid Khan who is playing the role of a police officer.

According to the very short teaser, the film is a “Journey of friendship, life transformation and self-discovery.” It appears that Mansha and Junaid will be playing two friends who find themselves at crossroads when their beliefs coincide.

Sharing the teaser on her social media, Mansha wrote, “Making a film is like going on a journey together. First with the film crew, and co-actors, then with the post production team and distributors. But now we begin this journey with all of you – the ones who make it whole, the people who this journey was meant for.”

On the other hand, Junaid simply expressed his excitement for his “first cinema feature.”

“This one is just the beginning. There is a lot more coming,” he wrote.

Kahay Dil Jidhar is being directed by Jalal Roomi and has been penned by Kamran Bari, who is also acting in the film. Atiqa Odho and Sajid Hasan are also part of the star cast.
