The suspect hailing from  Siddhartha Nagar was in a relationship with a girl from the Kolhui area. They met online on a social media platform.

The girl knew that the boy was not a Muslim but she did not tell that to her family and convinced him to marry her according to Muslim customs.

  • Woman seeks vaccinated groom in viral matrimonial ad

Woman seeks vaccinated groom in viral matrimonial ad

A matrimonial advertisement of a woman looking for a vaccinated groom, has gone viral on the internet. In the ad, a 24-year-old self-employed woman claims that she is fully vaccinated and is looking for a man who must also be completely vaccinated. The newspaper-clipping style advertisement went so viral in India that Indian politician Shashi Tharoor tweeted about it, asking, “No doubt the preferred marriage gift will be a booster shot!? Is this going to be our New Normal?”

The ad also stated that the girl wanted a post graduate, independent, patient, humourous and well-read partner. While the man also seemed too good to be true, the ad was also apparently a fake.

According to the Indian Express, the ad was ‘launched’ by a man from Goa, to convince people to get the COVID vaccine. Created by Savio Figueiredo, a community pharmacist, the ad had Savio’s original phone number listed and he says that his phone has not stopped ringing since it was posted on Facebook. The 58-year-old man told the Indian Express that he had posted it to raise awareness on Facebook for the vaccine, and someone picked it up, stating it was real and it had gone viral ever since. He says that even if 10 people get vaccinated because of the ad, it is worth the constant ringing of his telephone (possibly from prospective suitors).

Major cities in India have relaxed the lockdown rules as COVID-19 cases settle down. Pakistan also is reporting a drop in cases with the positivity rate under three per cent for the first time in four months.

  • ‘Why do people have to get married,’ Malala on love, life and the future

‘Why do people have to get married,’ Malala on love, life and the future

Pakistan’s shining star, Malala Yousafzai sets British Vogue on fire with her latest interview for the magazine’s July cover.

The interview covers her life after her graduation from Oxford University, her big plans for her future, love and marriage.

    Love and marriage

When asked about love and relationships at first, Malala seems “embarrassed” and horrified to answer questions about love, so much so that the author writes that it is like she is “torturing a kitten”. Near the end of the interview Malala brings up the subject again and asks questions that would concern an intelligent 23-year-old.

She questions the reasoning behind marriage and relationships, saying that it is difficult to be certain that the person you choose is worth the trust. “Especially [in terms of] thinking about relationships. You know, on social media, everyone’s sharing their relationship stories, and you get worried…If you can trust someone or not, [and] how can you be sure.”

She talks about her parent’s arranged marriage and asks, “I still don’t understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”

She laughs and mentions that her mother keeps telling her about the beauty of marriage and how her father gets emails from suitors who talk about how they have land and money and want to marry Malala.

    University days and future plans

When applying to Oxford University, Malala says that she wanted to be seen as ‘any other student’. When she started university in 2017, her college principal offered to write an email to other students who would interact with her, informing them ‘to respect Malala’s privacy”. She says that she didn’t want them to see her as someone they saw on television and wanted to be in the company of people her own age. At college, she went out and ‘every moment’, hung out with friends, stayed up late and shopped. Everyone came to hang out at Malala’s place because she would have snacks and be incredibly hospitable, a nod to her Pashtun culture.

Malala is currently working with Apple + , according to the article, and although details haven’t been revealed, she says that she will create content that will make people laugh and enjoy themselves. “I want these shows to be entertaining and the sort of thing I would watch,” she tells British Vogue.

The interview also includes short statements from Michelle Obama, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook and Malala’s best friend.

    The pictures

Sharing some portraits of herself from the British Vogue Cover, Malala wrote, “Thrilled and humbled to be on the cover of British Vogue. I know the power that a young girl carries in her heart when she has a vision and a mission – and I hope that every girl who sees this cover will know that she can change the world.”

Answering a question about her headscarf Malala said that it is more than her faith adding, “It’s a cultural symbol for us Pashtuns, so it represents where I come from. And Muslim girls or Pashtun girls or Pakistani girls, when we follow our traditional dress, we’re considered to be oppressed, or voiceless, or living under patriarchy.”

She continued, “I want to tell everyone that you can have your own voice within your culture, and you can have equality in your culture.”

Malala’s interview to British Vogue is titled, “I Know The Power A Young Girl Carries In Her Heart”: The Extraordinary Life Of Malala” and is part of the magazine’s July issue.

  • Priyanka Chopra spills her secret to a happy marriage

Priyanka Chopra spills her secret to a happy marriage

Take some tips from Priyanka Chopra for a happy marriage.

“Secret behind a good marriage?” said Chopra while speaking to Vogue Australia. “I am just two years in, so I would be able to tell you only so much. According to me, it is conversation.”

“Actually sitting down, being able to speak to each other and spend time with each other. And actually enjoy it all,” added Chopra-Jonas.

Priyanka got married to Nick Jonas in December 2018 in two grand ceremonies.

When asked about how she managed to plan the “world’s most epic wedding,” Chopra said: “The secret behind [the] world’s most epic wedding was doing it in two months.”

“Because we did not have time to think about anything. So, by the time it was done, it was just perfect, epic,” she added.

Priyanka and Nick first got in touch via Twitter and soon started speaking to each other over text and Whatsapp. Their first meeting took place at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party in 2017 following which they met in Los Angeles, where they watched Beauty and the Beast at the Hollywood Bowl.

Chopra recently flew to LA from London to be by her husband’s side after he broke a rib and helped him present at the Billboard Music Awards (BMAs).

Meanwhile, Priyanka also opened up about the failures she has faced in her professional life.

“No one only wins. I’ve lost many battles. I’ve done many, many movies that no one has watched. It’s what you do after failures that defines you. To me, life is a ladder. It’s never a destination,” remarked the star.

Priyanka also said that she works hard so that the generation after her wouldn’t have to.

“We as Asians have always been taught that you’ve got to run faster than everyone to get where you’re going,” said Chopra. “I wanted to be seen as a mainstream leading lady, and not be boxed into the stereotype I saw a lot of, that required 10 years of work…and finally, I feel like I’ve been able to get to a place where I am doing that.”

“I think the responsibility is to constantly push the goalposts, not just for yourself, but for everyone who comes after you. For the next generation of South Asian talent, I want it not to take 10 years for them to get the roles that they want,” added the actor.

Priyanka has a string of releases lined up including Text For You co-starring Sam Heughan and Keanu Reeves’ Matrix 4. She is also working on her own production Citadel.
