Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Muhammad Zubair’s leaked video, where he is allegedly seen in compromising acts with women, went viral on social media.

The former governor of Sindh has categorically denied the video and termed it to be a “new low in politics” along with claiming that the video is “fake and doctored”.

“Whoever is behind this has done an extremely poor and shameful act. I have served my country with honesty, integrity and commitment. Will continue to raise my voice for betterment of Pakistan,” Zubair wrote on Twitter.

The mobile footage, which allegedly shows the PML-N leader in bedrooms with women is blurred and the women cannot be identified. It  has stirred a debate on social media on whether the video is real and if so, how the ‘footage’ has been leaked.

  • ‘Fake govt, fake vaccination certificates,’ Maryam Nawaz reacts to Nawaz Sharif’s ‘vaccination’ in Lahore

“Just like this fake government, its vaccination record and entry data for vaccines is also fake,” said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz when asked about the issue of fake vaccination data for Nawaz Sharif uploaded by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) portal. Maryam said she is concerned that the wrong entry of vaccination data can be an international embarrassment for Pakistan.

Maryam was talking to the media after she appeared before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in a case against her conviction in Avenfield reference.

Nawaz Sharif, who is currently in London for medical treatment, has received first dose of Sinovac vaccine in Lahore as per the data uploaded on NADRA portal. As per reports, this false information was entered using Nawaz Sharif’s CNIC at Government Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital.

  • Ahsan Iqbal issues show-cause notice to Mian Javed Latif

Senior journalist Mohammad Malick tweeted on Friday, “Ahsan Iqbal issues show-cause notice to Javed Latif for accusing ‘muffamat’ group in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of ‘assignment’ from someone. This was one of the key demands of the angry half of sharif equation now let’s see what happens to the main demand of Mian Nawaz Sharif truly empowering Shehbaz Sharif as president.”

Prior to this, an exclusive report by Dawn’s Zulqernain Tahir revealed that Javed Latif has become a bone of contention between the Sharif brothers because Nawaz Sharif did not agree with Shehbaz Sharif to issue Mian Javed Latif a show-cause notice for his serious allegations against the younger Sharif and his group.

According to the report, a party insider revealed that as a mark of protest, Shehbaz did not attend two back-to-back divisional level meetings of the party in Lahore, which were attended by his elder brother [Nawaz]. Hamza Shehbaz also did not attend these meetings, supporting his father’s stance.

The former prime minister had asked his brother to wait for a while. After this, Shehbaz did not challenge his elder brother’s opinion but he chose to register a silent protest by not attending the meetings he was supposed to preside over, the insider claimed.

When contacted by Dawn, Malik Ahmad Khan, the newly appointed spokesperson for the party’s president, admitted that Mr Latif had violated party discipline.

Latif, who had come close to Maryam Nawaz after going to jail, had told a private news channel that four to five leaders in the PML-N were on an ‘assignment’.

According to him, four or five leaders in the party got assignments from those who did not believe in law and the constitution. “These leaders must remember the fate of Chaudhry Nisar,” he had warned.

    Maryam Nawaz’s response

Vice President of PML-N Maryam Nawaz denied the reports, urging the party workers not to pay attention to the propaganda by the enemy saying Nawaz and Shehbaz ‘are one’.

While addressing a gathering of workers from the Bahawalpur division she said, “This is a democratic party. Differences in opinion may exist. This does not mean that one raises questions pertaining to party leadership. When it comes to the party leadership, everyone agrees with Nawaz Sharif as well as Shehbaz Sharif.”

Earlier, Mian Javed Latif had claimed that Nawaz Sharif would come to Pakistan this year. Later, Marriyum Aurangzeb contradicted his statement and said, “He will only return to Pakistan when doctors will give a clean bill of health allowing him to travel and when the party decides.”

Maryam Nawaz to appoint new lawyer for Avenfield reference case

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that her lawyer Amjad Pervez has recused himself from the case because of his health condition after he had contracted Covid-19.

“I told him to contest my case, and until he recovers, I will arrange another counsel for my case,” said Maryam.

A journalist questioned Maryam whether Pakistan should recognise the new Taliban government in Afghanistan.

Maryam responded, “Pakistan must accept the will of the Afghan people and refrain from imposing its decision on Afghanistan.”

The PML-N leader said Afghanistan was a sovereign country and insisted that Pakistan must not interfere in the internal matters of the neighbouring country.

Government’s priorities revolve around how to tease the Opposition: Maryam

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice-President Maryam Nawaz, while speaking to the media on Wednesday said that “The sitting government is not concerned about lawlessness, inflation, or increasing crimes.”

” Its [Government’s] priorities revolve around how to tease the Opposition, silence the media, and how to plan the next rigging,” said Maryam.

Lashing out at the performance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI) government, Maryam said that the parameters of performance are measured in good or bad.

She described the incumbent government’s past three-year performance as “nothing short of destruction”.

In her opinion, the PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif was talking about a national consensus not a formation of a national government.

“The country is in dire need of national reconciliation barring this government. All others parts must unite and think how the government should be ousted,” added Maryam.

She commented on the Media Regulatory Authority, saying that the government is creating hurdles for the media, adding that the bill was a continuation of the draconian government’s incumbent policies aimed at censoring the media.

In response to a question on Nawaz Sharif’s return, she said: “There is no precedent for what the PML-N has endured. Nawaz Sharif has taken far more than was required.”

“I would like to say again today that this is an illegitimate and incompetently imposed government. And what they are is not accountability but revenge,” reiterated Maryam.

“Circumstances have changed a lot. Very soon, you will see a lot of things change. Nawaz Sharif will return to the country when it is necessary for him to do so,” said Maryam.

EXCLUSIVE: Junaid Safdar reveals if he planned to sing at his Nikkah

There isn’t anyone on social media who has not seen – and loved – Junaid Safdar’s suprisingly excellent singing at his Nikkah ceremony. With social media and Pakistan’s celebrities going ga-ga over the young groom’s singing skills, we had to reach out and ask, where did he learn how to sing?

“I’ve never had any training,” he told us in a message, “this was rather spontaneous but the song is one I grew up listening to and one I quite admire myself”.

Junaid was seen crooning to the chartbuster song, Kya Hua Tera Waada from the hit Bollywood film Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahi starring Rishi Kapoor. Although they hired a professional singer, Navin Kundra, who enthralled the audience with his songs, Junaid’s rendition of the famous song took the Nikkah and social media by storm.

The song was sung by one of India’s most legendary playback singers, Mohammed Rafi. We asked Junaid that since the song was way before his time, how did he know the lyrics to one of Bollywood’s classics and if he had any other oldie favourites.

“Many of Rafi Sahib’s,” he responded, “I think I just grew up listening to them and appreciating these lyrics.”

Even though the song wasn’t planned and was ‘spontaneous’ as Junaid mentioned, we had to ask if he sings to his wife Ayesha and if they do any duets.

    “Haha. Nope,” said Junaid.

Miftah Ismail steps down as PML-N Sindh General Secretary, blames ‘badmash tola’

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh General Secretary Miftah Ismail has resigned from his party post arguing that politics became difficult in the presence of ‘badmash tola’ (mafia) in Karachi. According to details, Miftah resigned after no action was taken over vandalism by party workers at PML-N House in Karsaz.

Dunya News reported that a few weeks ago, enraged workers of the PML-N in Karachi stormed into their own provincial party office and vandalised the facility, smashed windows, and tore posters of the party’s provincial leadership, in protest over “unjustified” distribution of party tickets for the upcoming local government elections in cantonment boards in the metropolis.

Reportedly, Miftah Ismail has tendered his resignation to the top leadership of the party due to the presence of “a gang of goons” who were making politics difficult for the former finance minister. He also contested the by-election in NA-249 in Karachi recently and lost a close contest to Qadir Mandokhel of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
