Royal family skips invitation to Harry, Meghan’s daughter’s christening

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter Lilibet has been christened last Friday in an intimate gathering of around 20 to 30 guests. However, none of Harry’s royal family were present, despite being invited.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that Lilibet Diana was christened last week on Friday by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, Reverend John Taylor.

Among the attendees were Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry, and another unnamed godmother.

Since the release of Prince Harry’s controversial biography ‘Spare’, there have been extensive reports of the divide between the younger son of King Charles and royal family members, who had also recently asked Harry and Meghan to leave Frogmore Cottage, where the family had stayed during their trips to Britain.

British media has reported that the King will offer them an apartment at Buckingham Palace instead.

When contacted by media outlets, the Palace did not comment on “personal invitations” as is routine.

Harry and Meghan were officially invited to King Charles’ coronation, scheduled to take place in May. The Duke and Duchess are yet to confirm if they will attend what is perhaps the most important day in Charles life.

Harry and Meghan told to vacate their ‘Spare’ British home

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have been asked to vacate their British home, Frogmore Cottage, where they were allowed to live by the late Queen Elizabeth.

“We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage,” a spokesman for the couple revealed in an email to The Washington Post.

The reason behind this decision has not been revealed, however it has come only a few weeks before King Charles’s coronation in May.

Media reports have said that the cottage is now being offered to Prince Andrew, who had been living on a larger property in Windsor grounds. However, Buckingham Palace has not confirmed this yet.

Harry and Meghan had shifted to Frogmore Cottage in 2018 after their wedding. In 2020 when they stepped down from their royal duties, the couple moved to California but the cottage remained their home during their trips to Britain. They have time till May to empty the home.

King Charles has long been a proponent of slimming down the monarchy and reducing its expenses. Prince Andrew, who was living at the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor, has reportedly also been told that the monarchy will not pay for the upkeep of the residence.

Prince Harry breaks silence about the deleted content from his tell-all memoir

On Tuesday, 10 January 2023 Prince Harry finally released his much-talked-about tell-all memoir titled Spare. The memoir not only offers details about the Duke of Sussex’s childhood, but it also includes vivid and controversial details about his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales and her death, his relationship with his brother, Prince William, and his father, King Charles III. In fact, the memoir also makes serious revelations about his controversial courtship and marriage to the American actress Meghan Markle and inside details on how and why the royal couple stepped back from their royal roles.

In a recent interview with Telegraph, Prince Harry made the revelation that while the released version of his book is just 416 pages long, he along with his ghost-writer J. R. Moehringer penned an initial draft for Spare that was 800 pages long. Prince Harry revealed that he cut plenty of content from his recently released memoir Spare that he could have easily released as a whole other book.

In the interview, the royal actually disclosed that while he could have shared so much more, plenty of stories in the first draft were actually to provide a backstory for the writer and not intended for publication. In fact, Prince Harry went ahead and said that he made the cuts according to “the scale of things (he) I could include for (his) family members.”

He explained, “Look, anything I’m going to include about any of my family members, I’m going to get trashed for. I knew that walking into it. But it’s impossible to tell my story without them in it, because they play such a crucial part in it.”

Prince Harry added, “But there are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know. Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me.”

The Duke of Sussex explained, “Now you could argue that some of the stuff I’ve put in there, well, they will never forgive me anyway. But the way I see it is, I’m willing to forgive you for everything you’ve done, and I wish you’d actually sat down with me, properly, and instead of saying I’m delusional and paranoid, actually sit down and have a proper conversation about this, because what I’d really like is some accountability and an apology to my wife.”

However, regardless of plenty of cuts, the book holds all the major details about the British royal family from Prince Harry’s own point of view which will definitely be a new perspective. Reportedly, the book spills details on how Prince Harry admits he actually experimented with cocaine, cannabis, and magic mushrooms. Other revelations in the book include, how he lost his virginity, how he killed over 20 people, how he discovered Queen Elizabeth’s demise from the BBC, and how he was pretty uncomfortable when he saw one of Meghan’s “love-making scenes” among several other things. Harry’s memoir titled Spare was officially released on January 10th, 2023, and has been in the tabloids ever since.

‘Racist and violent’; Fury at Prince Harry’s claim he killed 25 people in Afghanistan

Excerpts from Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’, scheduled to hit bookstores worldwide on January 10, have racked up controversies with the Duke of Sussex revealing intimate details of the royal family. However, one passage from the book has landed the erstwhile prince into hot waters himself. Social media is calling Prince Harry “racist and violent” after the revelation that he has killed over 25 Afghans and feels neither satisfaction nor shame. In the book, the Prince wrote that the “insurgents” he killed were like pieces on a chessboard.

  • ‘I told them about the Nazi uniform to William and Kate and they had a laugh’; here are some revelations from Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’

‘I told them about the Nazi uniform to William and Kate and they had a laugh’; here are some revelations from Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’

Since the bombshell revelation that Prince William had sworn at and physically attacked Prince Harry, anticipation regarding the release of the former Princer’s memoir ‘Spare’ has gone sky high with many media outlets now carrying other excerpts from the book. Here are some of the more juicy bits from the memoir.

    1. Prince William and Kate Middleton were huge fans of the show ‘Suits’ before they had met Meghan Markle

Prior to her marriage to the former Duke of Sussex, Meghan Markle starred as paralegal Rachel in the popular drama ‘Suits’ which centered around a powerful law firm in Manhattan. Prince Harry writes that around the time he had told his brother and sister-in-law about his relationship, Meghan had already retired from acting.

He writes that when he announced he was dating Meghan, the two starred at him in complete shock.

“Willy turned to me and said ‘F—k off?’” Harry said.

I was baffled, until Willy and Kate explained that they were regular — nay, religious — viewers of ‘Suits,’” he continued.

Harry recalled being amused by his brother and sister’s excited responses, as they kept badgering him for details but he only gave them a limited description of their relationship. He further confessed that his brother’s lukewarm warning hurt him, even though he was excited to introduce Meghan to the family.

“I confessed, for the umpteenth time, that this had long been my dream — to join them with an equal partner. Well, now I felt that it was going to happen and I told him so — but he still said to slow down. ‘She’s an American actress after all, Harold. Anything might happen.’ I nodded, a bit hurt.”

    2. It was Prince William and Princess Kate who had told him to wear the Nazi costume in 2005.

One of the anecdotes in the book includes Prince Harry’s controversial choice dress up in a Nazi uniform to a Halloween party where the theme was “Native and Colonial”. Prince William was going dressed as a lion. Harry writes that when he had phoned both of his brother and Kate and told them he was going to wear a Nazi uniform, they laughed about it.

“I phoned Willy and Kate, asked what they thought. Nazi uniform, they said. They both howled. Worse than Willy’s leotard outfit! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point.”

The former Duke had expressed remorse over his actions in the Netflix documentary ‘Harry and Meghan” and had said he ‘felt so ashamed afterwards.” However, this revelation has brought criticism for the disgruntled Duke of Sussex, with many commenting on how he’s refusing to take responsibility for his scandalous choice of costume.

    3. Prince Williams hair loss was alarming and his resemblance to their mother, the late Princess Diana, had completely faded.

In a section discussing meeting his family at Prince Phillip’s funeral, Prince Harry recalls realizing that his elder brother’s ressemblance to their mother had completely faded with time. As he writes
“I looked at Willy, really looked at him, perhaps for the first time since we were little,” Harry recalls, referring to his brother’s “familiar scowl” that “had always been the norm” during their interactions.

In another section of the book, he wrote how alarmed he was by the way his brother William’s hair was fading, even though the Duke of Wales was only three years older than him.

    4. Both Prince Harry and Prince Williams had begged their father, Prince Charles, not to marry ‘wicked step mother Camila’.

Writing about his father’s marriage to longtime lover Camila Parker-Bowles, with whom he was involved in an affair while married to Princess Diana, Harry writes that he and his brother had begged their father not to proceed with the wedding.

“Despite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings.
We recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he’d always loved.”

He also writes about his relationship with his stepmother, saying that he was always suspicous about her becoming another wicked stepmother

“I remember wondering … if she would be cruel to me; if she would be like all the evil stepmothers in the stories. Willy had been suspicious of the Other Woman for a long time, which confused and tormented him. When those suspicions were confirmed, he felt agonizing remorse for not having done or said anything before.”

    5. What had actually happened regarding the infamous ‘Meghan had made Kate cry’ revelation

Prince Harry opened up about Meghan’s revelation that it was Kate who had made her cry at the Sussex’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, after it was widely reported that it was Markle who had made Kate cry during the preparations for the wedding.

He wrote in the biography that during the preparation of the wedding, the now Princess of Wales had texted Markle about needing altercations to the younger Princess Charlotte’s dress, saying it was too big, too long and baggy because of which the young one began crying. She had also added that all of the younger bridesmaid’s dresses had to be remade, with only four days left for the wedding.

When the Duchess of Sussex had agreed to visit the tailor along with Kate and her daughter Charlotte, Harry writes that he later found Meghan in tears on the floor after their meeting. The next day, Kate had sent flowers with a card apologizing for what she had said.

‘Spare’ will be released in bookstores worldwide from 10th January onwards.

‘I was knocked to the floor’ Prince Harry reveals physical altercation with brother Prince William

A leaked chapter of Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir Spare includes details of a physical altercation between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry, which ended with the latter receiving “scrapes and bruises” down his back.

The title of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare, expected to hit bookstores next week, refers to an old saying in royal and aristocratic circles, that the first son is the one who inherits the titles and wealth of the family, while the second-born is the spare, in case anything should happen to the first child.

According to The Guardian, which had obtained the book, the alleged fight started because of the the royal family’s disapproval of Prince Harry’s marriage to Meghan Markle, whom Prince William had called “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.

The interaction began when the now Prince of Wales had visited Harry at Nottingham Cottage in Kensington to discuss “the whole rolling catastrophe” of their relationship and struggles with the press. But when William reached his place, Harry could notice that his brother was already “piping hot”.

After William complained about Harry’s wife, Meghan, the former prince responded by reminding his brother that he expected better and didn’t expect him to repeat what the press were already saying about her. However, Harry writes that William was not willing to listen, and which led to both brothers shouting at each other. Harry says in the book that William was acting more like a heir, and wasn’t trying to understand where his brother was coming from.

Harry further writes that William claimed he was trying to help his brother to which he had responded “Are you serious? Help me? Sorry- is that what you call this? Helping me?”

This comment sparked the fight, after which Harry recounts how William swore and began stepping towards him. Harry remembers getting frightened and going to the kitchen to get his brother a glass of water.

“Willy, I can’t speak to you when you’re like this,” Harry said as he gave William a glass of water.

After this, Harry recalls how quickly his brother attacked him. He writes:

“He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

After this, Harry said William had urged his brother to fight back, as they had when they were children, but he had refused to do so.

Before leaving, Harry recalled that William returned “looking regretful, and apologised.”

Then once before leaving, William had said, “You don’t need to tell Meg about this.”

“You mean that you attacked me?”

    “I didn’t attack you, Harold.”

Harry writes that he didn’t tell his wife immediately, but instead he had revealed this all to his therapist. Meghan had noticed the ‘scrapes and bruises’ on his back, after which Harry revealed to her what happened. He recounted that she “wasn’t that surprised, and wasn’t all that angry. She was terribly sad.”

It has been speculated in British media that the book might not paint a very negative picture of Harry’s father King Charles or his step mother Queen Consort Camilla, as she is her husband’s “red line”.

Critics unimpressed by Harry and Meghan docuseries

The first project produced for Netflix by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has left critics’ mostly unimpressed. Almost five days after the first three episodes of the duo’s docuseries titled ‘Harry & Meghan’ was released by the streaming giant, the reviews are in, and they are not very kind.

Washington Post has termed ‘Harry & Meghan ‘ a “yawner”, with a reviewer asking if the couple “have anything else to say”.

Hollywood’s entertainment magazine of record, Variety, was no less unkind, writing : “The Sussexes surprise us yet again, with just how narrow their vision of their fame is, how pinched and unimaginative their presence on the world stage has become.”

On American online magazine Slate, reviewer Nadira Goffe called the series, “a bit of a mess”, stating that it can’t decide if it wants to be a “history analysis or juicy tell-all”.

French reviewer Laura Sagalovitsch minced no words either, stating that the Sussexes are, “nothing but a vague actress and a fallen prince, both united behind the idea of selling to the highest bidder the story of their undying vacuousness”.

Germany’s Der Spiegel asked it’s readers why Harry s telling this story on the very platform that is “currently exploiting his mother’s sad life as entertainment in the mega hit series The Crown remains unclear. Perhaps it has to do with a lot of money.”

The New York Times tempered it’s review, writing that the docuseries “has all the intimacy of Instagram”.

The series is however, a ratings bonanza, currently behind Tim Burton’s Wednesday on Netflix. Given the hefty price tag that Netflix is paying the Sussexes for the joint productions, many media outlets are speculating whether the streaming service will be forced to review it’s production terms.

  • Teaser of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries creates controversy

Teaser of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries creates controversy

An emotionally charged trailer of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s forthcoming Netflix documentary series has been released, as Buckingham Palace reels from a racism incident and during a key visit to the US by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

In the 1 min 12 sec “teaser”, Harry and Meghan share previously unseen intimate photographs, some showing the duchess apparently crying, with one scene showing Harry with his head tilted back as his wife appears to wipe away her tears with both hands.

Calling the Sussexes ‘unpredictable’, Richard Fitzwilliams said that the trailer’s release was ‘obviously timed to take away from the Wales’ trip to Boston’, adding that Meghan and Harry ‘like control their narrative’.

In the teaser, an unseen interviewer asks: “Why did you want to make this documentary?” a montage of black and white photographs flashes up. One shows Meghan curled up on a chair, head in hands on the phone and seemingly distressed. Harry says: “No one sees what is happening behind closed doors.”

The trailer then cuts to a photograph of a stern-looking Kate, with William sitting beside her, and Meghan behind, taken at the Commonwealth Day service before the Sussexes left the UK.

Further photographs show Meghan sombre in a black hat, taken at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth, and another of a bank of press photographers, as Harry continues: “I had to do everything I could to protect my family.” A picture shows Meghan seated in a car seemingly wiping away tears.

Meghan tells the interviewer: “When the stakes were this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”

Other, happier, personal photographs show Harry playing guitar for his wife, the couple hiking with him holding picked flowers, wading in a stream with their dogs, a pregnant Meghan in silhouette, dancing at their wedding, and sharing a kiss in their kitchen.

An image of the couple used in the trailer for the documentary.

In an accompanying statement, Netflix described “Harry & Meghan” as a “never-before-seen look at one of the most discussed couples in history”.

The timing of the trailer is not the best for Buckingham Palace, which is still dealing with the aftermath of the resignation of Lady Susan Hussey, one of the late Queen’s ladies-in-waiting, after she questioned the charity founder Ngozi Fulani about where she was “really from” at a palace reception. The palace and William, her godson, described the comments as “deeply regrettable” and “unacceptable”.

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle may return to King Charles III to negotiate some sort of deal to break the marriage with Prince Harry in two years.

In a video shared by Daily Mail, Royal expert and author Tom Bower told Page Six that as the couple’s money woes mount, the Duchess of Sussex may be tiring of Harry and seeking an exit plan within two years.

Tom Bower, per Daily Star, told Page Six: “There are many now in London who say that [Meghan] is tiring of [Harry].”

“They speculate that in two years she will say, ‘This is enough’ and should be able negotiate some sort of deal with [King] Charles to break the marriage,” said the Author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry And The War Between The Windsors.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got married on May 19, 2018 and have two children Archie and Lilibet.
