    12-year-old girl killed after rape in Bahawalnagar

    A 12-year-old girl was murdered after the alleged rape in Manchinabad area of Punjab’s Bahawalnagar district, ARY News reported on Thursday.

    According to details, a 12-year-old girl was killed after being raped in Manchinabad. The police detained the two suspects in the case after it was reported.

    Taking notice of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has also asked for a report from IG Punjab and ordered strict action against the persons involved in the crime.

    CM Punjab Usman Buzdar also assured the victim’s family that justice will be served.

    Earlier, a girl in Gujrat died after three men allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped her. Three men abducted a girl from Chak Ghazi in Gujrat district on September 1. The accused gave a tranquilliser to the girl and then raped her.

    12-year-old maid ‘starved, tortured to death’ by employer in Lahore: police

    A 12-year-old maid, who was found dead last week, was starved for days and tortured to death by her employers, said police on Thursday.

    According to Samaa, the child employed by a family in Iqbal Town, Lahore, was assaulted multiple times over a period of two months. She was starved for long hours, revealed her post-mortem report.

    “The report disclosed that she was not raped,” the investigation officer was quoted as saying. The police have arrested the employer, Saira Bano who confessed to the crime during questioning, it added.

    “Bano said that her sister-in-law Nasreen was also involved,” the officer was quoted by the media outlet. The police are conducting raids to arrest her as soon as possible, it added.

    On Jan 30, the father of the deceased minor approached the police with a complaint that her daughter was “killed and raped” by the employers who had hired her services as a maid.

    The media report said that her father, a resident of Sheikhupura, said that on January 27 they received a call from her employer Bano.

    Bano told them that their daughter wasn’t feeling well. “When we reached there, my daughter was unconscious,” he said, adding that the child was immediately moved to a hospital where the doctor pronounced her dead.

    A case has been registered under sections 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and 302 (murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

    A minor housemaid, who was beaten to death in Rawalpindi, was reportedly often tortured and the incidents filmed.

    Officials investigating the case said that they have managed to obtain access of Hasan Siddiqui and his wife Umme Kulsoom’s mobile phones, adding that they recovered some videos from the devices that showed the minor, Zahra bibi, being tortured.

    As per reports, officials also found an image of the minor domestic worker locked up in a large birdcage, allegedly as a punishment.

    Officers said that they have not gained any evidence so far which proves that the couple had recorded the videos. However, he said that they are still looking into the data obtained from the cellphones and there is a chance they could come across data which could be important for the case.

    The victim’s father and the couple had an agreement for her services. An amount of Rs80,000 had been paid to Zahra’s father for her services for eight months. Further, both parties had agreed that if the victim serves for longer, her family will pay more.
