My wedding was arranged by Allah: Hamza Ali Abbasi

Have you ever wondered if love is something that finds you when you are ready or when it’s simply meant to be? For actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, the journey to finding true love wasn’t easy, but it was guided by something greater, he says.

Appearing as a guest on Amna Haider Isani’s Haute Talk, Abbasi talked about the challenges he faced in love and relationships before meeting his wife Naimal Khawar.

The Legends of Maula Jatt actor revealed that he had never truly experienced love “in the right way” before finding his soulmate.

“In life, I had never experienced love in the right way and I was never able to truly love [someone]. I had many bad experiences and I believe the fault was mostly mine. I wasn’t mature enough. I still don’t think I’m mature enough to say I’ve grown up,” he said.

“I’ve broken hearts and my own heart was broken too. I feel ashamed for hurting people,” the actor said while reflecting on his past.

Abbasi also spoke about his journey of self-reflection and seeking forgiveness. “I’ve asked for forgiveness and I did what I could to make amends.
I’ve hurt people, I’ve broken hearts, and I have done many wrong things,” he added.

After going through so many hardships Abbasi said, he turned to faith and made a sincere prayer.
“I prayed, ‘Oh Allah, I’ve never experienced true love, and I never thought of marriage.’ Then I chose a path and prayed for love or marriage.
I didn’t know how to go about it but I trusted Allah, and I think my prayer was accepted. Allah took my hand and led me to love a person in a way that I had no control over. I couldn’t control myself and it was happening on autopilot.”

The Parwaaz hai Junoon actor also reflected on how life’s challenges led him to find peace and love in unexpected ways.

“Allah brought me to someone simple, and I fell in love with Naimal. We got married and it’s been almost six years. Alhamdulillah, Allah accepted my prayer and honoured me. I didn’t have the capability or maturity to do this on my own.
My wedding was arranged by Allah and I didn’t have the maturity to plan it. It was beautiful, simple and full of blessings from Allah. A wedding should be simple so that it doesn’t turn into a show. You can save money and keep it simple,” Abbasi added.

Naimal Khawar and Hamza Ali Abbasi tied the knot on August 25, 2019, in Islamabad.

Abbasi is currently in the headlines for starring in Faraar, a drama serial written by Mustafa Afridi and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain and Musadiq Malik.

  • ‘Woman spoke to me for a long time because she thought I was Hamza Ali Abbasi’s wife’: Nawal Saeed

Ever thought that how embarrassing it is to be chatting with someone and then discovering that they mistook you for someone else? Actress Nawal Saeed had the same experience when elaborating at the Geo show ‘Hasna Mana Hai’ about the time, a stranger praised her and then realised she was not Hamza Ali Abbasi’s wife, Naimal Khawar.

The actress recalled meeting a sweet old woman who kept compliment her work “And after 5 minutes, she went like, ‘I had really wished to meet Hamza’s [Ali Abbasi] wife’,” she joked.

The ‘Banno’ actress had then revealed she kindly corrected the elderly fan that she was Nawal, not Naimal, but the fan was disappointed that her time was wasted.

  • There are better things in life to talk about than Naimal Khawar’s alleged nose job

There are better things in life to talk about than Naimal Khawar’s alleged nose job

Social media can be a blessing because of how it is able to bring people together regardless of their background. It provides people with an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals. But we have to admit that the downside of social media -particularly in regard to how women on the internet are openly criticised and trolled- is something that cannot be overlooked. Mahira Khan was attacked online for not wearing a dupatta, and now Naimal Khawar is getting trolled after people assumed the actress had gotten a nose job.

Pakistani women exist in an invisible cage that follows them to their graves. They are a vessel of opinions other people have about them, and have no say in how they choose to live their own lives. Men tend to perceive Pakistani women as their personal nannies, therapists and full time mothers. In the particular case of Naimal Khawar, its amazing how entitled babus on the internet have so much to say about a woman who is financially independent and has a caring and attentive husband and family.

What had led to such a vicious response? The actress had merely posted pictures of herself next to some flowers, which led to some trolls making heinous comments about how her alleged nose job made her face look different.

Like seriously, the comments section really proves how as Pakistanis, misery is the flag we love to wave. We cannot remain happy, therefore we cannot see other people happy.

I’m sorry but did Naimal Khawar personally reach out to you for money even if she had gotten a surgery? Why would you feel so entitled to make such negative comments about a woman’s face? Why do Pakistanis feel that making hideous remarks about women’s bodies passes is acceptable? Naimal Khawar has not survived so many years in a competitive industry solely because of her looks, but because she is a talented person. She owes no one an explanation about how she chooses to live.

Trying to justify your body shaming by using the religion card? Didn’t Islam also tell us to keep our opinions to ourself, and to never open our mouth if we have to make a mean comment about someone? In a country like Pakistan where already 75 per cent people suffer from mental illnesses like depression, could we try to understand that, now more than ever, women need to stop pilling on hate on each other, and help by being a little kind and compassionate?

By the end of the day, we simply have to say that take your rules and restrictions away from the bodies of Pakistani women. Naimal Khawar is her own person. She can decide by herself what she wants with her life, whether she chooses to go under the knife or not. It’s all about what makes her feel more secure in her body. For the rest of us, there are more things to worry about while living in Pakistan rather than taking it out on a woman who has nothing to do with it.

If you’re still having a problem in undestanding how to possibly mind your business and manage not to tear down a happy person, then take a note from Mathira, who manages to keep a classy and cool persona by uplifting people when they need it the most.
