  • Case registered against couple for photo shoot in front of Quaid’s portrait

    Islamabad Police registered a case against a couple for a photo shoot in front of Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait in Islamabad under Section 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), reported ARY News.

    The case has been registered on the complaint of Rashid Malik. In the complaint, Rashid Malik says that the pictures have been taken in revealing dresses in front of the portrait of the country’s founder Quaid-e-Azam, which has hurt our sentiments, and requested authorities to take action against the involved people. Koral Police station registered the case and started an inquiry.

    Earlier, senior journalist Ansar Abbasi took to Twitter and requested Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat to arrest the models who posed in front of Quaid’s portrait.

    A 40-year-old woman and her 22-year-old daughter have allegedly committed suicide in India after an obscene video showing the latter went viral on social media in both India and Pakistan.

    Gonda police of India’s Uttar Pradesh (UP) said the incident took place in Nagrasen village. “The duo was upset ever since the video of the young girl and her lover went viral.”

    Villager Pappu Paswan told police that the 22-year-old had gotten married in December. However, Satyam, a former partner of hers from a caste deemed superior, used to harass the woman even after marriage. On the night of March 22, Satyam sent an obscene video of him and the woman to the her husband and made it viral on social media.

    The video also went viral in Pakistan with people on this side of the border widely sharing it.

    “This affected her relationship with her husband and the woman and her mother were devastated. They did not come out of their house all of Tuesday and on Wednesday, we spotted them hanging,” said the villager.

    Satyam has been arrested and booked for abetment of suicide and under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 that prohibits discrimination, prevent atrocities and hate crimes against scheduled castes and tribes.

    “The accused was blackmailing the woman by saying he would tell the husband about their relationship. He also misbehaved with her and made an obscene video. Thereafter, he started blackmailing her with the video, asking her to live with him. When the woman refused, he sent the video clip to her husband,” said Gonda cop Shailesh Pandey.

    Former Pakistani paceman Waqar Younis has announced his decision to delete his social media accounts after “a hacker liked a porn video from his official Twitter handle”.

    Mentioning the incident in a video message, Younis said that he would never be seen on social media again and it was not the first time that his social media account had been hacked.

    Critics were quick to lambaste Younis to which he responded with what may be his final post on any of his social media accounts.

    Younis clarified that he was not the man behind the inappropriate action.

    “Today I have to say with great regret that when I woke up this morning, someone hacked my Twitter account and liked grossly inferior videos from my account.”

    “So it is a matter of great shame, it is a matter of great regret and discomfort. For me and my family too. I used to think that social media or Twitter is a way of interacting with people. But unfortunately this man ruined everything. By the way, the hacker has not done this for the first time. I have had an account hack three or four times,” he said further.

    The former cricketer and Pakistan team coach also said he did not think the man was going to stop, so he had decided that he would not come on social media after today. “I love my family more. You will not see me on social media after today. I am sorry if this hurts anyone.”
