Pak Suzuki increases motorcycle prices for all models

Pak Suzuki has once again announced a rise in prices across the board due to the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee (PKR), much like all of its two-wheeler rivals in the Pakistani market.

The majority of motorcycle consumers are no longer able to afford the motorcycles due to price increases. Unfortunately, the only option left for the locals is the Chinese bike, which has become more expensive and of lower quality.

Here are Suzuki motorcycles’ most recent prices:

Variant Old Invoice New Price Increase
    Suzuki GD-110S Rs219,000 Rs229,000 Rs10,000
    Suzuki GS-150 Rs239,000 Rs251,000 Rs12,000
    Suzuki GS-150 SE Rs256,000 Rs271,000 Rs15,000
    Suzuki GR-150 Rs349,000 Rs365,000 Rs16,000

In comparison to its earlier price of Rs349,000, the Suzuki GR-150 150cc model saw the largest price increase of Rs16,000; the bike now costs Rs365,000.

It’s important to note that since the start of the year, Pak Suzuki has announced four price increases. In addition to motorbikes, Pak Suzuki also announced a price rise for its car lineup.

Many assemblers have reported running out of production-critical materials, which the majority of automakers have mostly attributed to the ongoing decline of the Pakistani rupee versus the US dollar.

  • Pak Suzuki may discontinue Cultus to promote new Swift

Pak Suzuki may discontinue Cultus to promote new Swift

One of Pak Suzuki Motor Company’s (PSMC) best-selling vehicles, Suzuki Cultus, will reportedly no longer be produced. According to reports, all variants of the hatchback will be officially phased out in the upcoming months.

According to Pakwheels, Alto and Swift sales had an impact on Cultus sales, and the company intended to actively promote Swift while boosting Alto sales.

If the rumours are true, it may be terrible news for those who adore this tiny hatchback since Cultus has long held the top spot in the 1,000cc category.

According to information from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), PSMC sold more than 9,800 Alto in March of this year. In April, the amount fell to 5,000. In May, sales slightly increased to about 5,400.

It is also worth noting that PSMC has not made any public statements about the development. Once the business issues a formal statement regarding this, PSMC’s response will be added.

The current generation of Suzuki Cultus was introduced in 2017. The hatchback is available in three variations from PSMC: VX, VXR, and VXL. Since its debut, Cultus has dominated the 1,000cc segment of the home market due to its compact size and impressive fuel economy.

It is still too early to tell if these rumours are true, as several reports from last month that Pak Suzuki was preparing to reintroduce the Mehran turned out to be false after The Current obtained confirmation from numerous dealerships.

  • Car prices in Pakistan expected to increase by 15 per cent

Three prominent automakers in Pakistan including Suzuki, Honda, and Hyundai are expected to announce a price hike within two weeks, due to the depreciation of the rupee against the US dollar and rising prices of imported raw materials.

Analysts expect car prices to increase by up to 15 per cent. It is worth noting that Pak Suzuki and Kia Lucky Motors have already announced a price hike for their vehicles.

Experts predict that more auto assemblers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) are expected to jump on the price hike bandwagon.

Considering the imminent price hike, Suzuki Bolan may witness an increase of Rs. 172,000 in its current price of Rs. 1.17 million, which will cost Rs. 1.35 million after the hike.

The all-new Honda Civic Vti Oriel 2022 which costs Rs. 5.4 million is expected to be priced at Rs. 6.2 million after a massive increase of Rs. 810,000 in its current price.

Hyundai’s only sedan, the 2.0 Hyundai Elantra GLS after getting the expected hike will cost Rs. 5.1 million as compared to its current price of Rs. 4.4 million.
