Champions Trophy 2025: When will Pakistan and India face off?

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent the draft schedule of the Champions Trophy 2025, which will be held in Pakistan next year, to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Indian media has claimed from ICC sources that, according to the draft, the Pakistan-India clash will be held on March 1 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The Indian Cricket Board has not yet given consent to the PCB regarding the schedule of the matches.

Considering security issues, all India matches have been scheduled to be played in Lahore. New Zealand and Bangladesh have been placed in Group A along with Pakistan and India.

Australia, England, South Africa and Afghanistan have been placed in Group B, with all participating member nations of the Champions Trophy having assured the ICC of their support. The Indian Board will take its decision after consulting the Indian government.

Security heightened following terrorist threat ahead of Pak-India T20 showdown

Security issues for the India-Pakistan match, which will take place New York, are being taken very seriously for the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup.

According to Geo News, before the India-Pakistan match on June 9, news of a terrorist attack started to spread, after which the New York administration increased security despite the lack of evidence of an attack before, during or after for the India-Pakistan match.

The New York Governor’s Office said in a statement, “There is no evidence yet regarding the threat reports, we are monitoring the situation, and according to intelligence, there is no threat to public safety at this time.”

State Governor Kathy Hochul says the administration has been working for months to improve security and is working with law enforcement agencies, directing New York State Police to advance surveillance and thorough screening to increase security.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) also gave its position in this regard and said that security will be strengthened during the entire tournament and the security of the New York venue will also be strengthened like other venues. They also stated that the security and safety of everyone is the priority.

During the T20 World Cup, four matches played by India and two matches of played by Pakistan are scheduled in New York. New York has to host 8 matches from June 3 to 12.

The T20 World Cup match between Pakistan and India will take place on June 9 in New York.

  • Why was Pakistan defeated by India in World Cup 2023?

Why was Pakistan defeated by India in World Cup 2023?

India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in the 12th ICC Cricket World Cup match played on October 14 in Ahmedabad’s Narinder Modi Stadium in India.

The Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pakistan started collapsing after 155/2 when Babar Azam was bowled out after scoring 50 runs. The remaining eight players returned to the pavilion while adding only 36 runs to the total. Pakistan set a total of 191 runs that India achieved in 30.3 overs while losing only three wickets.

Fans started blaming the whole team and raising questions about Babar Azam’s captaincy, but no one talked about all the other issues that played a major role in this defeat.

    1: Lack of psychological training

Pakistan cricket board hired psychologist Maqbool Babri before the Asia Cup 2023 to provide counseling to the Pakistani men’s cricket team. The duty of a sports psychologist is to improve stress management, effective teamwork, visualization, and many other psychological problems that an athlete faces during the game.

First of all, we should ask PCB management what type of psychological training has been provided to our players to play the biggest match of cricket in India, our arch-rival. What type of training do they get to control their stress amidst a hostile crowd of 132,000? They should be asked about what type of training session is given for mental strength and how to use biofeedback and neurofeedback.

    2: Lack of bowling variations

Pakistani bowlers were conceiving runs during the power play and also during the middle overs. They were not getting wickets in middle overs. A question should be asked of bowling coaches, whether they are unaware of Indian conditions which are similar to Pakistani conditions? Why were our bowlers unable to introduce more variations when the same is being done by their Indian counterparts?

    3: Defensive approach in batting

ODI (One Day International) cricket is not a game of 250 or 260 runs anymore, now every team aims to score 300+ runs from the very beginning. Other teams have attacking opening pairs that score 60+ runs in power play and give very good momentum to the middle order. If we look at our openers they play defensively from the start of the match and due to their defensive batting style, get out early and leave the load on the middle order. Openers should have an attacking mindset and put pressure on the opponent’s bowlers.

4: Zero support in the stadium

Pakistan cricket team was playing with almost zero support from fans in the stadium because India had not issued any visa for Pakistan spectators.

5: Chanting and booing by Indian fans

Indian fans started booing at the start of the match when Pakistan captain Babar Azam came out for the toss.

After this incident, Indian spectators started chanting “Hum tumhary baap hein” during the match when Babar Azam was batting.

Another incident occurred when Muhammad Rizwan was returning to the pavilion and Indian spectators started chanting “Jai Shree Ram”.

Remember that before this match Pakistan’s team received support from fans in Hyderabad. Pakistani cricketers also shared on social media that Heydrabad’s people were loving and amazing hosts.

6: Harassing Pakistan player Muhammad Rizwan

Indian lawyer Vineet Jindal, who has filed a complaint against Pakistani cricket presenter Zainab Abbas for old tweets, has now filed a complaint to the ICC (Internation Cricket Council) against Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan for his tweet in support of Palestinians and praying in the stadium.

  • Official Israel account attacks Rizwan for pro-Palestine tweet

Official Israel account attacks Rizwan for pro-Palestine tweet

After Pakistan lost to India in the cricket World Cup match yesterday, an official account associated with the government of Israel chose to demonstrate their pettiness with a tweet targeting cricket player Muhammad Rizwan, who, after a match-winning performance against Sri Lanka, dedicated his win to the people of Gaza.

“We were really moved by Indian friends showing their solidarity with Israel. We are happy that India emerged victorious in the #INDvsPAK match at #CWC23 and that Pakistan was unable to attribute its victory to the terrorists of #Hamas.”

Many Twitter users criticised the absurdity of how triggered a country has been over a simple tweet by a cricketer. Seriously, y’all lose sleep over anything?

    Truly a King

Please make this happen PCT In Sha Allah

Well done Rizwan for living rent free in the minds of an entire nation.

Indian singer Neha Kakkar also performed at the event. However, the ceremony was only viewed by spectators present in the ground as it was not shown on TV channels.

  • Will iPhone 15 Pro Max in Pakistan surpass the price of a Hyundai SUV in India?

Will iPhone 15 Pro Max in Pakistan surpass the price of a Hyundai SUV in India?

The iPhone 15 Pro Max with 256 GB of storage is initially priced at $1,100 in the United States, which, at the current exchange rate of Rs295, translates to approximately Rs325,000 in Pakistani rupee (PKR).

However, it’s anticipated that the cost will significantly rise in Pakistan due to additional expenses like Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) approval and retailer margins.

Given the precedent set by the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which currently retails for Rs540,000 in Pakistan, we expect the starting price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max to be around Rs555,000 or possibly even higher once local mobile shop owners import and sell them.

Apple iPhones generally have higher price tags in Pakistan due to taxes and PTA approval fees, making it challenging to pinpoint the exact cost.

Nonetheless, it’s reasonable to assume it will exceed Rs500,000, considering that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is already priced above this threshold in Pakistan.

Additionally, a Pakistani website called Phonebolee suggests an expected price of PKR 643,999 for the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max.

In terms of comparisons to India, a report by DNA India highlights the astonishing prices of iPhones in Pakistan. It notes that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, priced over Rs7.3 lakh in Pakistan, surpasses the cost of a Hyundai Exter 5-seater SUV, which is priced at INR 5.99 lakh in India.

However, it’s important to be cautious about such comparisons, as they might not accurately reflect the actual market dynamics.

Keep in mind that the exact price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max in Pakistan can vary among different retailers.

Additionally, the exchange rate between the Indian rupee and the Pakistani rupee is approximately 1 INR to PKR 3.56. So, when comparing the INR 600,000 price of an SUV, it equates to approximately Rs2,136,800, or Rs2.1 million in Pakistani rupees, which is significantly higher than the expected price of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max.

  • Pak Vs. Ind: Umpires come under fire for giving no-ball in last over, fans call it cheating

Pak Vs. Ind: Umpires come under fire for giving no-ball in last over, fans call it cheating

After India’s thrilling four-wicket victory against Pakistan in a heart-stopping T20 World Cup match, which took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in front of 90,000 exuberant fans on Sunday, fans and experts were left perplexed by a few on-field decisions.

Virat Kohli led a 160-run chase that proved challenging after India were reduced to 31 for 4 with the score at 82 runs without loss.

The most crucial gear in India’s T20 machine, Hardik Pandya, scored 40 runs off 37 balls in a 113-run partnership. The pair carried the contest into the decisive over as it was close.

When Pandya holed out off Mohammed Nawaz’s bowling with 16 needed off the final six balls, Dinesh Karthik faced his first delivery and took a single because the crossover rule was not in effect.

After some discussion, the on-field umpires ruled that Nawaz’s delectable full-toss, which was hit for a six over square leg with 14 needed off three balls, was a no-ball.

By that point, Nawaz, the inspiration behind Pakistan’s Super 4 success in the Asia Cup, had lost his composure.

Ravichandran Ashwin hit the most significant boundary of his career after Nawaz bowled a wide and Karthik was stumped by a quick-thinking Mohammed Rizwan.

The umpire’s decision to grant three byes rather than declare a dead ball after Kohli was bowled on a free hit left the spectators with a bitter taste.

It should be noted that ICC rules and regulations permit runs on a dismissal off a free hit. Only after it is firmly placed in the bowler’s or wicketkeeper’s hands does the ball officially cease to exist.

Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg tweeted: “Why was no ball not reviewed, then how can it not be a dead ball when Kohli was bowled on a free hit.”

Fans criticised it as cheating, while some threw the law book at the umpires. Here are some tweets:

    https://twitter.com/dadu_charger/status/1584157853644120064?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1584157853644120064%7Ctwgr%5Ebb3d2eb969eeab1446a962b758d6a65419401606%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.freepressjournal.in%2Fsports%2Find-vs-pak-umpires-come-under-fire-for-giving-no-ball-in-final-over-fans-call-it-cheating

Additionally, there were tweets stating that commentator Nasser Hussain commented that “Umpires made some weird decision in favour of India today, but maybe we should keep quiet and not upset the ICC and BCCI,” which triggered another controversy on Twitter and angered fans even more.

After some time, Nasser clarified, saying that he had not said anything like that and that the fake quotes should be deleted.
