    Saba Qamar recently confirmed that she will soon be getting married to Australia-based entrepreneur Azeem Khan. Soon after the announcement, a woman alleged Khan of harassment in an “open letter to Saba Qamar”.

    “I am one of those women he needlessly dragged all across social media,” said the woman in the letter. “For what? A few likes and views?”

    She alleged that Khan leaked pictures and videos of her from a female-only group and posted it on social media because of which she received rape and death threats.

    “His posts led to multiple messages in my inbox from guys telling me they will find me and they will rape me or kill me,” said the woman adding: “We won’t stand by women who stand by men like these.”

    Khan, however, has denied the allegations and says that he has been wrongly accused.

    In a video message, the businessman said: “I only want to say one thing, what is the point of uploading statues on social media. Let’s come through a proper channel.”

    “I don’t care about Saba’s past, neither does she care about mine,” he added.

    Saba Qamar confirms that she has found her soulmate

    Saba Qamar recently set the internet on fire after she responded “qubool hai” to Azeem Khan who asked her to marry him this year in her post’s comments section.

    While most followers thought Saba was just messing around, turns out she was not. The actor while speaking to a local media outlet has confirmed that she will be saying “Qubool Hai” to Khan for real “very soon”.

    “Yes, I have found the person I’d like to settle down with,” said Saba.

    “If everything goes well, I will be tying the knot very soon,” shared Saba, without going into further details about the wedding date.

    Confirming that the person she is marrying is indeed Azeem, Saba said: “He is a successful Australian-Pakistani entrepreneur who hails from Karachi but is currently based in Sydney.”

    “I know it’s a little sudden and premature right now but all I want my fans and followers to do is pray for my better life and wellbeing,” she added.

    Meanwhile, Saba has a string of releases lined up for 2021 including Ghabrana Nahi Hai and web series Manjogi.

    Saba Bukhari says senior actors promote nepotism, discourage newcomers

    Aspiring actor Saba Bukhari, who is also part of TV One’s Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi, has alleged that senior actors only promote their children and discourage newcomers.

    In a recent interview with BBC Urdu, the actor opened up about her difficult experiences in the industry, saying: “Sometimes senior actors also give tough time to newcomers.”

    Recalling her encounter with a senior actor, Bukhari said: “A senior actress was sitting beside me while we were waiting for our next scene and she said samajh nahi aata zara sa chehra hota nahi hai or aa jati hain moun utha kar.”

    Bukhari further said: “Some senior actors have also advised me to leave the acting profession altogether.”

    “They say that there is no nepotism in the industry, this is not true at all,” said Saba. “These senior actors and their family members are in the field and they promote their children and show their work. This is what my son/daughter is doing or have done.”

    “After hearing that girls like me can not survive in the industry, I kept wondering if I should continue working in this profession or not,” lamented Bukhari.

    Earlier, in a social media post, Bukhari had opened up on her harrowing experiences with the casting couch and shared the advice she got from different ‘men’ and ‘directors’ in the industry and how those words broke her from inside.

    Faryal Mehmood, in a recent interview, had also talked about the casting couch in Pakistan and asserted that it exists.

    Noor Bukhari recently expressed her reservations over a local bride’s outfit.

    “Where are we heading? Is this our tradition?,” said Noor while talking about the bride’s dress.

    Noor’s comments irked Zoya Nasir who jumped in to defend the bride.

    “It’s her wedding day. It’s her dream day,” said the actor. “The bride is not enforcing her beliefs or lifestyle on anyone and no one has the right to publicly disgrace her very personal choice with their own two cents.”

    “Lest no forget what the person in objection has done in the past,” she continued. “She had pretty good role to play where we are headed. If Ms Noor was free to do what she did, same goes for everyone else.”

    “It’s good that she had a calling and is following her faith but that doesn’t give her the authority to name and shame,” she added.

    Responding to Zoya’s outrage, Noor apologised to her.

    “I apologise Ma’am Zoya Nasir. I did very wrong in past and I regret what I did,” said the former actor.

    “It concerns me because there use to be a time dulhan looked so pretty in haya,” said Noor. “But still I realised my mistake and took down the post.”

    “Where is the freedom of speech? Why [does] it [have] to become news whenever I post anything on my post or page?” questioned Noor.

    “Still I apologise for my mistake. Ab me chup hi rahun gi,” she added.

    Bukhari turned to religion to seek contentment after her fourth divorce. She has often used social media to share her religious experiences and spread spiritual awareness. In January 2020, she reportedly remarried ex-husband and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Awn Chaudhry. The couple has two daughters together.

    Minal Khan hits back at troll criticising her choice of clothing

    Pakistani celebrities are often trolled and moral policed for their choice of outfits and clothes. Minal Khan was recently at the receiving end of criticism for her choice of outfit.

    The actor, who recently appeared on Timeout with Ahsan Khan with close friend Saboor Aly, ended up grabbing the attention for the wrong reasons. Though the show has not aired as yet, the moral police has been calling them out for their choice of clothing ever since behind-the-scenes pictures and videos from the episode went viral on social media.

    However, Minal is not having any of it.

    Responding to a user, who commented “Begairti ki hd,” on one of her pictures, Minal said: “Kaheen aur jakr bhaashan dein pls, agli dukaan mein jayein. Yahan window shopping nahi horhi.”

    Earlier, Ayesha Omar had also given a befitting reply to a troll who criticised her for her choice of outfit.

    Responding to a social media user who had criticised her outfit for being revealing, Ayesha had said: “I’m definitely not promoting/ asking/urging women to expose their bodies. That is their own choice as wearing this dress was mine. As wearing whatever you want is yours.”

    In another comment, when a user remarked that such outfits provoke rape cases, Ayesha hit back saying: “Oh so that explains 4-month-old babies, 5-year-olds and 7-year-old girls and being raped?”

    Meanwhile, other actors who hit back after being moral policed include Mehwish Hayat, Zoya Nasir and Komal Aziz Khan.

    Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi actor Saba Bukhari has opened up on her experience with the casting couch and shared the advice she got from different ‘men’, and ‘directors’ in the industry and how those words broke her from Inside.

    “He said that: Tum may itna confidence toh hai nahi k tum is media may agay ja sako (You don’t have enough confidence to go forward in media industry),” wrote Saba alongside a picture of herself.

    “He said that: Masla yay hai tum good girl ho aur iss field may good girl nahi chalti (The problem is that you are a good girl and good girls don’t survive in this field).”

    “He said that: Aisa kaisay ho sakta kisi nay tum par attempt na kia ho (How is this possible that no one ever made a move on you).”

    “He said that: Hum tumhay kaam q dain or paisay bhe dain jab k yaha larkian kam k liye sonay ko tayar hain (Why should we give you work and money when girls are ready to sleep for work).

    “All these lines, words from different men’s (person’s) (director’s) broke me inside [and shattered] my dreams,” concluded the actor.

    Featuring Yumna Zaidi, Yasra Rizvi, Wahaj Ali, Nadia Afgan, Naumaan Ijaz, Samiya Mumtaz, and Omair Rana in the lead, Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi is a harrowing tale of child abuse and human trafficking in Pakistan. The drama has been written by Amna Mufti and directed by Kashif Nisar and is a Kashf Foundation Presentation.

    A few weeks back, the Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority issued a notice to the makers of Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi and directed TV One to review the drama’s content and modify it according to the regulatory body’s guidelines.

    Sharing a video of herself receiving the shot, the veteran actor wrote: “Yyyyyeeee. I’ve done it.”

    She urged her followers to get the vaccine saying that it was necessary for themselves and their loved ones.

    “This vaccine is so important to get for our friends and family,” said Ansari in her video.

    She also joked about getting the jab first since she is a senior citizen.

    “I never had fun being a senior citizen until today,” she joked.

    Maya Ali has shut down relationship scandals with co-actors.

    Ali, who was recently seen with Bilal Ashraf on Time Out with Ahsan Khan opened up about her link ups with co-actors.

    Upon being questioned about her pairing with Sheheryar Munawar, Ali said: “When I started my journey as an actor, everyone linked me with Osman Khalid Butt.”

    “I think there’s a certain pairing that delivers a chemistry fans love or adore. Hence, they start to ship the two celebrities as couples,” said the actor.

    The Mann Mayal actor further shared: “When we were at the premiere of Parey Hut Love, people called us a ‘Filmy Jodi’ which, for me, was a compliment. But this does not mean I will limit myself to only be seen with Sheheryar. From all the actors whom I have worked with, I absolutely adore Bilal Abbas.”

    Adding onto the expectations of being an actor, Ali added, “People aren’t familiar with what goes on behind the scenes. I’ve come to the conclusion that these netizens are prepared to pen negative feedback, waiting for something to pick on.”

    “I always tell people that we are public figures, not public property. Pick on our work! Be it negative or positive, we will happily entertain you. But judge till what we show you and not beyond the lines that are set for you to never cross,” said Ali.

    The actor has recently made a comeback on our TV screens with Munawar in ARY Digital’s Pehli Si Muhabbat.

    Meanwhile, when asked by Vasay Chaudhry onhis show Ghabrana Mana hai, that if he [Sheheryar] is single, the actor quickly replied, “Yes definitely I am single.. Alhamdulillah!”

    Ahmed Ali Butt seems to be having a blast after a clip of Mehwish Hayat schooling Vasay Chaudhry for body-shaming Butt went viral on social media. In a series of Instagram stories, the Jhooti actor posted memes and GIFs to express his thoughts and react to the matter. It is pertinent to mention here that Butt and Chaudhry are close friends and are just indulging in harmless banter.

    Hayat, who recently appeared on Vasay’s show Ghabrana Mana Hai, called out the host after he joked about Butt’s weight.

    When asked which Pakistani actor she thinks would be fit to play Ertuğrul, Mehwish named Humayun Saeed and Fahad Mustafa. She also said that Ahmed Ali Butt would make a good supporting character on which Vasay interrupted her and joked: “Ahmed Ali Butt ghoray ke uper aur woh ghora bhaage bhi“.

    Responding to Vasay’s remark, Mehwish said: “Don’t talk to me about body shaming. You cannot do that in front of me.”

    The actor further said: “Pass them [body shaming jokes] when you are with friends, but when you will do this on this platform, people will listen and pick, and they will repeat it.”

    “Who will be responsible then?” she questioned. However, Vasay continued to defend himself, saying that Butt himself passes such jokes.

    During the interview, Mehwish also talked about the criticism she faced on receiving the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and dealing with online trolling and criticism.

    Mujhe milna chaiye tha, ya nahi milna chaiye tha sab ko haq hai is baare me bat karne ka. Laikin mujhe mila kisi aur waja se other than my talent and hard work that is where I put my foot down,” said Hayat, while talking about her accolade.

    Talking about the social media trolls and responding to the suggestion of turning off the comments section, Mehwish said: “Turning off comments section means you are coward, or are doing something wrong “

    Meanwhile, Vasay also took the ‘controversy’ in stride, saying “Ghabrana Mana Hai (You are not allowed to panic).”
