  • Hira Mani, Sami Khan to headline Fahad Mustafa’s upcoming biggie

    Hira Mani and Sami Khan are set to star together in Badar Mehmood’s directorial, produced by Fahad Mustafa.  This will be their first project together as a pair. The first shooting schedule is already wrapped up and the team is ready to start their second schedule later this month.

    Written by Qaisera Hayat of Alif Allah Aur Insaan fame, the drama also features Sumbul Iqbal and Raqeeb Se actor, Hamza Sohail in pivotal roles. Senior actress Marina Khan has been roped in for a significant role too.

    The drama is expected to be released towards the end of this year.

  • Affan Waheed turned down a Hollywood film starring Nicole Kidman

    In a recent interview with Something Haute actor Affan Waheed revealed that he refused a character in a Hollywood project which could have landed him a role opposite Nicole Kidman.

    Affan shared he could not accept the role because he had commitments with his project MASTANI, and the role demanded a lot of effort and time which he could not commit to adding that his family and friends were disappointed due to his decision.

    The actor further revealed that he had received an offer on Facebook by Rajkumar Hirani but he had gotten to know about it after 2-3 years.

    On the work front the Galati actor can be currently seen in ARY’s Shadi Mubarak Ho.

  • Yasir Nawaz shared his worst working experience with Alizeh Shah, Feroze Khan jumps in to support the latter

    Yasir Nawaz and Nida Yasir recently appeared on Ahsan Khan’s show Time out with Ahsan Khan. During the interview, Nida revealed that Yasir had regrets about working with Alizeh Shah in the Drama serial Mera Dil Mera Dushman.

    On being asked by the host, Nida said that Yasir had some difficulty working with Alizeh Shah and building a chemistry with her since they played a married couple in the serial.

    Yasir Nawaz then added that he regrets working with Alizeh Shah and he wanted the show to be wrapped earlier than the makers because of this issue.

    Feroze Khan, who recently collaborated with the Ehad-e-Wafa actress for an endorsement jumped in to express his support for her on social media.

    Mehar Bano shared in her interview with Something Haute that actress Saba Qamar rescued her when she was harassed at a drama set. Saba and Mehar Bano have collaborated on multiple projects such as Bunty I Love You and Miss Fire.

    “One of my first cases when i had to experience harassment, Saba Qamar actually came to my rescue”.

    She continued: “Aik mic wala tha, you can get harassed at anytime by anyone, especially when you don’t know what’s going on and you are just a child.”

    She had to involve a senior actor as she was new in this field, “I told her because I did not know what was going on, she just went on set and got him kicked out. I think it is the only time I remember a woman taking such a strong stance for me.”

    This incident did make Mehar Bano more aware about the fact that how unpredictable work place harassments can be, “It made me realize that I should be more aware that what happens to me and what happens to other girls so that I can also stand up for them.”

    On the work front, Saba Qamar Zaman is all set to make a comeback on television with the upcoming drama serial, Tumhare Husn K Naam. Besides Saba, the drama will also feature Imran Abbas, Salman Shahid, Nayyer Ijaz and Asad Siddiqui. Meharbano is currently being seen on Geo Entertainment’s Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3.

    Mahira Khan says she was scared of doing Indian projects

    Mahira Khan has opened up about the ban on Pakistani artists in India, saying said she was “scared” to sign web series on Indian platforms.

    Talking about the ban on Pakistani artists, Mahira in an interview with Film Companion, said: “I guess, having experienced it firsthand, it’s just sad. When I think about it… I mean, we have all moved on.”

    “That’s what we do, if we don’t have this, we do something else. That’s what happens. But I feel like a great opportunity for the entire subcontinent to come together and collaborate was lost. I think it might happen again. Who knows?” continued the actor.

    Khan, who will narrate one of the short stories, Guriya in an upcoming Zee5 series, said that she received offers for other digital projects but turned them down.

    “A lot of the other series were offered to me and at that time… I don’t know if anybody will understand when I say this, I was scared. I was genuinely just scared. It wasn’t about what people say, I was just like, ‘I don’t know if I want to go there.’ And there was some content which was amazing, and I didn’t want to miss out on it,” shared the actor.

    Javeria Abbasi, who is currently being lauded for her performance in Tanaa Baana, recently opened up on her complicated relationship with ex-husband Shamoon Abbasi.

    Talking to Nida Yasir on her Ramzan special show Shaan e Suhoor, Abbasi explained how Shamoon is not only her former husband but also her stepbrother.

    Yasir explained to the viewers that Javeria’s mother and Shamoon’s father were married which makes them stepsiblings but they both had different sets of parents. The host further clarified that Javeria was the child of her mother’s first husband and Shamoon was child of his father’s first wife. The two also have siblings together.

    Javeria said that Shamoon was the only man she ever knew and that their marriage lasted for 10 years. The former couple had welcomed their first child after two years of marriage.

    The veteran also joked that when she got married, her mother, who was also her mother-in-law gave her a tough time because she wanted to prove that her daughter can do anything.

    “I used to work 12 hours a day [on set] and then after coming back home, I used to prepare the food and iron clothes as well.”

    Javeria also shared that Shamoon and her began their career together and that she was fortunate that she did not have to go through the casting couch.

    Meanwhile, Yasir also revealed that a drama serial titled Hum Tum was also made inspired by Javeria’s life and relationships.

    Crystal artist Sara Shakeel, who has been making waves with her artwork in Pakistan, has been featured in British Vogue. Sara’s crystal magic on Billie Eilish’s pictures caught the attention of the bestselling magazine, which then interviewed Sara about her work and process.

    “Little did I know, my love and mad respect for Billie Eilish would land me an interview with one of my favourite magazines British Vogue,” said Sara, while sharing a screengrab of her interview in Vogue.

    Speaking to the publication about her Eilish artwork, Shakeel said: “It’s the first time we have seen Billie in this way, so I wanted to create something new for her.”

    “I don’t care who the person is, as long as they inspire me,” said Sara further, adding: “No matter how ordinary someone or something is, I try to make it extraordinary.”

    Talking about the love and appreciation she receives, Sara said: “I’m a happy-go-lucky person who never dreamt of being famous, but now I’m so humbled; my work exists because of them.”

    Meanwhile, this is not the first time Sara made waves internationally. In December 2020, she collaborated with French luxury brand Lancôme for their digital Christmas campaign, which featured Hollywood celebrities Julia Roberts and Amanda Seyfried.

    “His perseverance and dedication have always been beyond inspirational,” said Junaid. “A true benchmark for us in terms of performance and patience. His level of patience and his humility while on set or off-set has always inspired me.”

    The actor added: “May he always continue blessing us with his skills and his love.”

    Junaid is currently being praised for his performance in Geo Entertainment’s Khuda aur Mohabbat 3, while Qavi Sahab is winning hearts with his performance in Ishq Jalebi.

  • PTV, PTV Sports to turn HD, says Fawad Chaudhry

    Fawad Chaudhry, who was reappointed Minister for Information and Broadcasting in a recent cabinet shuffle, has shared his plans on what he plans to do under his ministry.

    “The process that started in 2018 to initiate reforms in the Information Ministry is being resumed,” said Chaudhry in a tweet, adding that the project to make Pakistan Television HD will be completed by June 1.

    In addition to this, work on making PTV Sports HD is also in progress.

    Chaudhry further said an English channel will be launched soon and that reforms to digitize the Associate Press of Pakistan (APP) are underway.

    Chaudhry further said that the revival of the film and drama industry is his ministry’s “first priority” and that production work on the biographies of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and Tipu Sultan is under process.

    Young film and drama makers will be given loans up to 5 crore under ‘Nujawan Program’ to facilitate the revival of the industry.

    “Journalists associated with print and electronic media will be provided with personal houses under Prime Minister’s housing project, and health cards will be also provided,” said Fawad, assuring to resolve the non-payment of salaries issues of journalists.

    The Minister also extended his support toward Digital Media saying that “we will give them full support.”

    Meanwhile, Fawad also said that a digital recording of the National Anthem is under process.
