    Celebrities laud Arshad Nadeem for hitting a milestone at Olympics

    Notable members of the entertainment industry have expressed their appreciation for a ‘Javelin Throw’ player Arshad Nadeem who has secured the first position in the qualifying round of Javelin throw finals in Tokyo Olympics 2020 and made Pakistan proud.

    Nadeem was in group B of the qualification event and topped his group to make it to the finals. His overall performance marked him as the third-highest thrower in both the groups combined, behind India’s Neeraj Chopra and Germany’s world number one Johannes Vetter.

    Aangan fame actor Iffar Omar has lashed out at writer Khail-ur-Rehman Qamar for his insensitive comment regarding Noor Mukadam’s murder case. “This is the most irresponsible and disturbing statement by this man,” wrote Iffat while sharing a screenshot of the Pyaray Afzal writer’s tweet.

    Recently, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was invited on a show at MYK News Tv. The host showed the Mere Paas Tum Ho writer a series of celebrity images and he had to comment his honest opinion on the featured celebrities. When Iffat Omar’s picture appeared on the screen, Khalil said: “Ye wo hai jis se me nafrat bhi nahi karna chahata, Ye meri nafrat ke bhi laik nahi hai.”

    Iffat stated earlier that she’ll opt out of Humayun Saeed’s London Nahi Jaunga as Khalil is the writer of this forthcoming feature film.

    Sadaf Kanwal received backlash on social media for her gendered statements in a recent interview.

    A few prominent members of the entertainment fraternity expressed their support for the Alif star.

    Ahmed Ali Butt, known for his comedy roles, came forward and shunned those who are bullying Sadaf Kanwal over her remarks. He called out people who are making a mockery of a woman.

    His wife Fatima Khan also shared her thoughts on the matter, saying: “Liberals fail to practice what they preach about tolerance.”

    She also wrote a detailed note on women attacking a woman.

    Actor and host Noor Bukhari also supported Sadaf, saying that whatever she said is in accordance with the true teachings of Islam.

    Recently, Yasir Hussain took to social media bashed the bloggers who are using dancing pictures of the actor.

    “Mujhy aik samajh nahi aati k Sadaf ki 50 hazar Khoobsurat pictures mai se ye aik dance wali picture hi kyon post ki jati hai? Dance buri cheez nahi magar mai bloggers ki is image building ko bakhoobi samajhta hun,” wrote Yasir addressing the social media websites.

    Earlier, Ali Abbas came in support of Sadaf saying that it is her husband and she can treat him the way she likes to do it.

    Actors Zarnish Khan and Hamza Sohail have expressed their concern on the rising crimes against women in Pakistan.

    Taking to Instagram, the Sun Yaara actress wrote: “Nowadays, whenever I open my social media, I only see stories about people being raped, murdered, harassed, or fight over women’s clothes. Why is this country in such a mess?”

    The Yeh Dil Mera star urged people to raise their voice, saying: “Raise your voice for the greater good instead of bashing individuals for their dressing, their statements, or their personal choices. It is time for the Awaam to rise up and use social media to demand basic human rights instead of fighting about petty issues and wasting time on gossips.”

    She added, “I find it extremely depressing to see that our society has become crippled as well as finding itself teetering on the edge of lawlessness. There needs to be an end to this chaos by the authorities as soon as possible so that we can all feel safe at home and on the streets. We have been racked by terrorism for decades, and now we have these animals wearing human skin to continue the sad story. When will it all end?”

    Raqeeb Se actor Hamza Sohail expressed his concern for the plight of women in Pakistan with an exclusive heartfelt statement to The Current, “The recent surge in horrific incidents of femicide across the country is heart wrenching for all Pakistanis. I feel there’s a dire need to prevent the unfurling moral decline in our society. It’s high time that we condemn these horrendous crimes and take a pledge to protect our women.”

    He also penned a thought provoking note on his Instagram handle.

    Celebrity couple of Sadaf Kanwal and Shahroz Sabzwari appeared on ARY’s Hamary Mehmaan. The Alif actress was asked about her take on equality in marriage, to which she answered that ‘Mard ka darja upar hai, wo kamata hai, khilata hai, bachon ka khayal rakhta hai’.

    She added that, ‘Mujhe Sherry ka zyada pata hona chahiye’, because she’s the wife. This interview has gone viral on the web and Sadaf also trended on Twitter for gendered statements about feminism and spouse equality.

    Model Sabeeka Imam has schooled Sadaf Kanwal over her recent statement on feminism.

    Pakistani actor Sonya Hussyn hosted a question and answer session on Instagram and revealed that she love Sajal Aly’s eyes and everything about Yumna Zaidi.

    Sonya indulged in a Q&A session on her Instagram handle and fans flooded her with questions. On being asked about her opinion on Sajal Aly, the Muhabbat Tujhe Alwida actor said: “Extremely humble and super talented,” adding, “Love her eyes though MA (Masha Allah).”

    Actors Aagha Ali and Yasir Hussain are all set to make their directorial debut’s with the upcoming web films. The Mere Meherbaan star will be directing a thriller, Raat starring Hina Ali whereas the Lahore Se Aagay actor will be directing Fahad Sheikh and Mansha Pasha in Koyal.

    “Super happy and proud to announce this one. This is not just my directorial debut but my first one as the Producer as well. I present to you the first official poster of “RAAT” our upcoming Web-Film,” wrote Agha while making the announcement on his Instagram handle.

    Yasir Hussain is directing a series based on sister rivalry Koyal. The script is written by Zanjabeel Asim and it also features Fareeha Jabeen, Muhammad Noor-ul-Hassan, Maham Aamir, Yasir Taj, Umer Aalam, Faysal Shahzad, and Sajeel Meer.

    “Time for hashtags and slogans is over, we demand to know what the government is going to change the system,” she wrote.

    The Load Wedding diva also said that its time for women to define their own narrative adding that, “We will not be bullied into silence.”

    “Laws are there, but we need to make the enforcement of them more rigorous and less Traumatic for the victim.”

    Kubra Khan recently appeared on Ahsan Khan’s show in which she revealed the reason behind rejecting Humayun Saeed’s blockbuster drama Meray Pass Tum Ho.

    The Alif star was offered the character of Hania, played by Hira Mani. Kubra while revealing the reason for rejecting the drama said that she was on a break at that time, adding that she did not feel like doing the character of Hania after reading the script.

    Hania’s character was a supporting role.

    On the work front Kubra will be seen in drama serial Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay. Based on Umera Ahmed’s novel, it features Mahira Khan Usman Mukhtar and Kubra Khan as Mehreen, Aswad and Mashal respectively. The drama is directed by Pyar Ke Sadqay fame Farooq Rind.
