    Mohammad Hafeez’s journey with Qalandars comes to end after 4 years

    Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Mohammad Hafeez, has announced that his journey with Lahore Qalanadars, one of the main franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has came to an end.

    “My journey comes to an end with @lahoreqalandars here. Thanks for the amazing last 4 years of learnings & success. I will always cherish the amazing memories of working together. Wish u all the best for future endeavours,” he tweeted.

    Earlier this year in January, Hafeez announced his retirement from international cricket, ending a career spanning more than 18 years with the Pakistan side. He made his international debut in a One-Day International against Zimbabwe in 2003, and his last match was Pakistan’s defeat against Australia in the T20 World Cup semi-final last November.
    As per his ESPN cricinfo, Hafeez played 55 Tests, 218 ODIs and 119 T20Is while amassing 12,780 runs across formats, and grabbed 32 Player-of-the-Match awards

    Khushdil Shah reportedly breaks down in dressing room after being bullied by the crowd during the seventh T20I between Pakistan and England. The crowd chanted ‘Parchi Parchi’, when he was going back to the pavilion.

    According to media reports, Shah broke down in the dressing room.

    Imam-ul-haq has extended his support for Shah.

    “I would like to request our fans to avoid such rants at any player as it can badly impact the player’s health and try to support them like you always do, regardless of the results. We play for you, we play for Pakistan. Stay blessed,” he said.

    People on social media are condemning the chants voiced by the crowds.

    Khushdil scored 63 runs in five matches at an average of 21. In last night’s match he scored 27.

    Babar has dropped to fourth place after his poor performance in Asia Cup and a return of 31 against England in the series opener of their series.
    The 27-year-old managed just 68 runs in six games in the United Arab Emirates, where Pakistan finished runners-up to Sri Lanka.

    He dropped from third to the fourth spot with 771 rating points.

    However, star batsman Rizwan has retained his number one spot in the rankings with a total of 825 rating points.

    Test cricketer Fawad Alam has spoken about facing the most dangerous bowler in his career.

    Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and Fawad Alam appeared on the Geo News programme “Hasna Mana Hai,” where they both faced a flood of questions.

    Vicky Chaudhry, a cricket who played with Babar Azam at the Malton White Club, also took part in the show and posed the question to Fawad, “Which bowler makes your legs shiver?”

    To which he replied, “Shaun Tait is one such bowler who I played for the first time in Australia, so at that time I only played two balls of Tait.”

    “Although my legs do not tremble, there are some bowlers I enjoy playing with. Shaun Tait is one of the fastest bowlers I’ve enjoyed playing with, and I’ve never seen a bowler like that before,” Fawad added.

    Vicky asked whether there was a bowler he thought was easy to handle.

    Fawad said that it is possible to presume that some of a team’s bowlers may be attacked, but you can’t assume that all of the bowlers are “halwa” or easy to play.

    Pakistan Women’s cricket team captain Bismah Maroof has been allowed by the Commonwealth Games (CWG) to take her daughter with her to the tournament.

    Earlier, the Commonwealth Games village said they will not accommodate Bismah’s infant daughter. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had asked the CWG Federation for two extra accreditations to accommodate Maroof’s mother and daughter in the village.

    “I want to thank the Commonwealth Games for accepting our request to accommodate our captain Bismah Maroof’s family at the Games village, which will allow her to focus on the task at hand without any worries about her young infant daughter,” PCB’s head of women’s cricket Tania Mallick said in a statement.

    Wasim said that last year he posted a video in a swimming pool, and some people started criticising him for being shirtless.

    “Are you happy now? I’m swimming wearing a suit,” said Wasim to his trolls.

    Wasim’s wife Shaniera also shared the video of her husband jumping into a swimming pool while wearing a suit.

    In the 24th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United by 10 runs. This was the third consecutive win for Wahab Riaz’s team. In this match, wicket-keeper-batter Mohammad Haris of Zalmi also scored a half-century in 18 balls.

    Haris smashed Islamabad’s bowling attack with a knock of 70 off 32 balls. In this exceptional innings, he completed his half-century in 18 balls, which is the joint-third fastest 50 in PSL history. After this, Yasir Khan (35) and Shoaib Malik (38) also made important contributions, taking Peshawar’s score to 200. Peshawar set a decent target of 207 runs for Islamabad to chase.

    Islamabad had a magnificent start by reaching 50 in the fourth over but opener batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz (46 off 19) got hitched by Salman Irshad. Then United wicketkeeper Azam Khan took the lead, who played an innings of 85 runs in 45 balls. But apart from him, no other batsman could do anything special. After holding the innings till the end, Azam Khan became the victim of Wahab Riaz on the first ball of the 19th over.

    From here the match changed and Zalmi’s return was made by Wahab, who took Azam’s wicket. Islamabad’s team scored 196 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets and fell 10 runs behind the target. Fast bowler Salman Irshad took three and Riaz took two wickets. Talat and Cutting also got one wicket each.

    In this match, Wahab took his 100th wicket and became the first PSL bowler to reach the milestone.

    Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “Alhamdulilah for our 3rd consecutive win!”

    Praising Haris, he added: “Really happy with our brand of cricket and especially @iamharis63 has made a lot of difference with his batting.”

    He further added that he is looking forward to reach the play offs as well.

    Shoaib Malik also took to Twitter to congratulate Wahab and Haris.

    “Congratulations @PeshawarZalmi, truly a team effort today, great knock by youngster #Haris. Congratulations @WahabViki on your wickets century, keep going strong guys,” he wrote.

    Haris also took to his Twitter and wrote: “Hat-trick of wins for us. Alhamdulilah for another player of the match award.”

    Haris bagged Player of the Match award and its his second award in the three matches he played in PSL 7.

    Sri Lanka batter Dimuth Karunaratne took to social media to mourn the loss of the legendary Indian singer.

    Former West Indies batter Darren Ganga said: “RIP Lata Mangeshkar, I grew up in the Caribbean listening to your timeless music. Your music shall live on!!!”

    Other notable cricketers also extended their condolences on their social media.

    Members of India’s senior national men’s cricket team wore black arm bands when they stepped on the field at the Narendra Modi Stadium for the first of a 3-match ODI series against the West Indies on Sunday.

    The Indian government announced two days of mourning for the legendary singer, whose fame has transcended generations. Lata Mangeshkar, who began singing during her teenage days, has worked in more than 1,000 films and sang close to 30,000 songs in a number of Indian and foreign languages.

    Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan said on Sunday that with her death, the subcontinent has lost one of the truly great singers the world has known.

    “With the death of Lata Mangeshkar, the subcontinent has lost one of the truly great singers the world has known. Listening to her songs has given so much pleasure to so many people all over the world,” Khan said in a tweet.

    Pakistani sportsmen extend support to Kashmiris as Pakistan observes Kashmir Solidarity Day

    The nation on Saturday observed Kashmir Solidarity Day and expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir. Pakistani sportsmen, including cricketer Shahid Afridid and boxer Mohammad Waseem extended their support to the people of Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK) who are living under atrocities of Indian government and army.

    Other Pakistani cricketers also shared their thoughts and extended solidarity with the Kashmiri people on Twitter.

    In a statement on Twitter, Prime Minister Imran Khan slammed the incumbent Indian PM Narendra Modi’s policies in IOJK and paid tributes to the Kashmiri brethren.

    “It is time the world takes notice of India’s grave human rights violations in IIOJK which include crimes against humanity, war crimes & genocidal acts as well as the threat of forced demographic change,” he said in a series of tweets.
