    Babar Azam, Pakistani cricketers pen heartfelt notes for AB de Villiers after his retirement

    Following AB de Villiers announcement about his retirement, cricket-lovers around the world are expressing their love for one of the finest players to have emerged from South Africa.

    Among those who paid tributes to ABD was Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and other Pakistani cricketers, who also took to their social media handles to share how the star player has inspired them.

    “You were my childhood inspiration and I always tried to learn from your charismatic approach,” Babar wrote on Twitter.

    Recalling his first interaction with De Villiers, he added: “I still remember the first time I met you and how welcoming you were.”

    “You have inspired many generations of cricket. Wish you the very best and a happy retirement.”

    Shoaib Malik, Hassan Ali, Haris Rauf and Fakhar Zaman also lauded the South African, among others.

    De Villiers, who announced his retirement from cricket on Friday, will be remembered as one of the sport’s great entertainers and one of the finest players to represent South Africa.

    He was an outstanding batsman in all forms of international cricket, averaging more than 50 in both 118 Test matches and 228 One-Day Internationals.

    Talking about an old incident, Shafiq said: “Once our team members decided that all the Sheikhs of our team will give us a dinner. So Saeed Ajmal and I, among two or three people are Sheikh. So we decide to give them a dinner. There’s this place in front of National Stadium Karachi and we went there. After the meal we saw that the bill was very high. So we four five Sheikhs went to Saeed bhai to ask him to divide the bill. He said that the bill has been cleared. I asked him how? He told us that I went to the counter and said that Pakistan team has come to your restaurant, will you charge us as well?”

    Everyone in the studio started laughing, while Babar and Shafiq said that Saeed bhai got us a free dinner.

    Saeed Ajmal is not only known for his phenomenal spin bowling but he has got a great sense of humour as well. The former cricketer is currently working as the assistant coach in Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) franchise Islamabad United.

    According to reports, Asif and his teammates have decided to name T20 World Cup’s victory after his daughter who lost her life while battling cancer.

    “If we manage to win the T20 World Cup, all players will dedicate it to my daughter,” Asif was quoted as saying.

    It must be noted here that Asif led Pakistan to two back-to-back victories against New Zealand and Afghanistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

    After beating Namibia on Tuesday, Pakistan became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the ongoing mega event. Pakistan’s last match of the Super 12 stage will be against Scotland on November 7.

    During the first over of West Indies’ innings, Lendl Simmons took a quick single on the second ball, prompting the Pakistan captain to point out Shadab’s lack of agility on the field.

    Pakistani cricketers mourn the loss of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan

    Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan passed away on Sunday after a long fight with his illness. Many cricketers including Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar and others took to Twitter to express their distress.

    While former cricketer and Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also extended his condolences for the great Pakistani scientist.

    Dr Khan was admitted to a local hospital where his health deteriorated early morning on Sunday. PTV said that the nuclear scientist died after being transferred to a hospital with lung problems.

    Prime Minister Imran Khan took to Twitter and wrote that Dr Khan was loved by the nation because of his critical contribution to making Pakistan a nuclear weapon state.

    A large number of people, including cabinet members, parliamentarians and military officers, attended the funeral prayers of the national icon.

    Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja on Friday got angry at provincial coach Basit Ali for calling him “Rambo” in a virtual meeting.

    According to 24 News, Raja held a virtual meeting with the six provincial coaches in which some of his old colleagues were also included.

    During the meeting, the head coach of the Sindh province and former Pakistan Test batsman, Basit Ali, who was also a friend of Ramiz, called him “Rambo”.

    Ramiz strongly reacted to this with some aggression and said, what happened Mr Basit, I am the chairman of the PCB. You should speak consciously, he sternly replied to him.

    After Ramiz’s aggressive reply to Basit, all the coaches got serious.

    In the meeting, the PCB chairman also slammed another coach Shahid Aslam on his friendly attitude and advised him strictly that he should coach and don’t try to pay for friendships.

    Meanwhile, he also warned the coaches that either they perform well or go home.

    The 27-year-old pacer bowled to the wicketkeepr batter and he hit a sixer. On the very next ball, Azam got out on an inside edge. After taking the wicket, Haris celebrated the wicket with a style of famous TikToker Khabane “Khaby” Lame, who reacts on lame videos of people and points out how it can be performed easily while pointing with his hands as it was very easy.

    Meanwhile, an impressive batting performance earned Northern a five-wicket win over ATF Southern Punjab in the tenth match of the National T20 played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on Wednesday night.

    All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz (player-of-the-match) made full use of two dropped chances as he scored an unbeaten 56 off 35 balls (six fours, two sixes) to spearhead his side’s 176-run chase.

    Musa Khan took three wickets for 40 runs, Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim and Haris took a wicket apiece for Northern.

    Pakistani cricketers, including Babar Azam, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar and others have expressed their disappointment after the New Zealand cricket board abandoned Pakistan series at the last minute.

    Taking to Twitter, Babar wrote: “Extremely disappointed on the abrupt postponement of the series, which could have brought the smiles back for millions of Pakistan Cricket Fans. I’ve full trust in the capabilities and credibility of our security agencies. They are our pride and always will be! Pakistan Zindabad!”

    While Shoaib Akhtar wrote: “NZ just killed Pakistan cricket.”

    “On a HOAX threat you have called-off the tour despite all assurances! @BalackCaps do you understand the IMPACT of your decision,” questioned Afridi.

    The series has been postponed after New Zealand expressed security threats. Despite Prime Minister Imran Khan talking to New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and ensuring her that the levels of securities are high, the series was called off.
