Actors Sheheryar Munawar and Maya Ali grabbed headlines during the release of their film Parey Hut Love for allegedly being in a serious relationship, the duo went through ups and downs in their love life over the years.
The two were spotted with each other’s family members often even after their film’s release.
Sheheryar even performed at the wedding ceremony of Maya’s younger brother.
Earlier this year while talking to Mira Sethi on her show Hello Mira Sethi, Maya shared that she has “never come across anyone in her career who is as passionate about their work as Sheheryar.”
The Project Ghazi star expresses his displeasure when Maya was finalised for Pehli Si Mohabbat as the duo were having personal issues. He cited the reason that they have worked together in a film recently so the audience should witness a fresh pair, however the director was adamant that he wants only the Teefa In Trouble diva for the role.
Now according to sources, the two have officially parted ways a while ago but made it official by unfollowing each other on social media.
Netizens have been speculating that Maya has found a special friend in actor Bilal Ashraf after parting ways with Sheheryar. She even mentioned recently that Bilal is her celebrity crush.
Recently actress Syra Yousuf commented on her scintillating shoot with Sheheryar that when the shoot came out and went viral on social media, netizens commented that they will have fairy babies together if they get married, considering their good on-screen chemistry.
Fahad Mustafa is amongst the biggest superstars of Pakistan. Be it his highest grossing films, critically acclaimed dramas or a blockbuster game show, the actor has carved a solid position for himself in the industry.
The Actor In Law star graced Maria Wasti’s morning show, Sunrise From Istanbul in 2016 on which he shared that once at an industry’s event, he was standing with his colleagues, and suddenly Meera pointed at him and instructed him to come to her.
The Load Wedding hero stated that he was taken aback and when he went close to her, she told him to go get a water bottle for her. The Parey Hut Love star acted as if Fahad is a spot boy or a servant on the event. Fahad mentioned that he felt very strange as he was an established actor by then and Meera knew who he was. He said that despite her mistreatment, he provided her with a water bottle.
The Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 actor also confessed that once he lost his cool on Meera when she appeared on his morning show as a guest. Fahad revealed that it was one of those rare moments when he had to lash out on a female actor as she was being rude on the live show, Meera reverted back in anger too.
Although when the Naagin star met him after a while on a flight, she pretended as if nothing ever happened.
Recently the Baaji star appeared on his show, Jeeto Pakistan and even posed for a picture with him.
On the work front, Fahad will be seen next in Nabeel Qureshi’s Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad opposite Mahira Khan.
Sheheryar Munawar has had tough year and he is not afraid to talk about.
Posting a shirtless picture of himself from an upcoming commercial, Munawar said: “It’s not special because it’s a shirtless shot; it’s special because for me it’s a celebration of this year’s personal journey.”
Sheheryar then went onto talk about his brush with COVID-19, his motorbike accident and how everything resulted in him going into depression.
“A few months back, life came to a standstill and being a workaholic, the stagnation took a huge toll on me emotionally,” shared Sheheryar, adding that he also suffered severe depression, but “won’t go into the details of it”.
“To make things worse I tested positive for COVID and had to go into isolation, a few weeks out of that terrible experience, I got into a motorbike accident and had to undergo surgery,” continued Munawar. “Mobility was completely restricted and relying on others to help me do the most basic tasks was emotionally traumatic, to say the least.”
He further divulged that even after the recovery, his worries were far from over.
“I had strict restrictions on body movements and I’m still not allowed to lift weights. I hadn’t worked in a long time and I had bills/salaries to pay, was in no shape, both physically or mentally, to go in front of the camera.”
However, he decided to fight back and gain back his mental, emotional and physical strength by doing light workouts, eating healthy, fixing his sleep cycle, meditating, seeking therapy and actively working on “having a positive outlook on life”.
Sheheryar also said that the support of his friends and family also helped him through his dark time.
“It’s taking a lot of courage out of me to be able to share the second picture with all of you. I want to do it to let you all know that we’re all in it together. We all go through highs and lows and we’re all vulnerable. Not sometime today, not tomorrow, not the day after, now is the time to change your outlook. Tell yourself nothing is impossible. Because nothing is,” he concluded.
Munawar last appeared in his home production Parey Hut Love alongside Maya Ali. The duo has paired up again for a television drama Pehli Si Mohabbat which will air on ARY Digital. The drama will mark Munawar’s return to the small screen after a gap of almost seven years. The actor has also done a number of steamy photoshoots recently which have sent the temperatures soaring.
Of all the films releasing this Eid, Parey Hut Love was probably the most hyped. Everything about the film – cast, set, costumes, locations – was larger than life and the cast of the film promoted it to death. So much so that even if you weren’t interested in the film, you’d still want to see what it is all about.
Naturally, that raises expectations and that’s when things begin to go down. I entered the cinema excited and left the cinema deflated because the film did not match up to my expectations and what I had been promised.
To begin with, there was no story and half an hour into the film, I had figured out the plot. Parey Hut Love is the story of Sheheryar (Munawar), a commitment-phobic struggling actor who meets Saniya (Maya Ali) at a family wedding. The two spend time together and fall in love. Saniya, who lives in Turkey heads back with the promise that the two will keep in touch. However, Sheheryar’s phone is stolen and Saniya thinks that he has ditched her and is heartbroken. The rest of the film follows the duo as they find their way back to each other despite almost getting hitched to other people.
The entire film was just lots of beautiful wedding scenes put together with many of the scenes inspired by Bollywood movies. You will find references from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Hum Tum and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and even from the Hollywood film Dear Rosie. I personally felt the plot was heavily borrowed from Dear Rosie and Hum Tum.
There was no flow of scenes and some of them, like Mahira’s entry, were so abrupt that it took you a while to put things together and figure out what was going on. It’s like the makers forgot that they had a story to tell.
Parey Hut Love belonged to Sheheryar and Sheheryar only. His character was the only one which was given attention and developed properly while the rest of the movie was rushed. Sheheryar and Saniya’s love story was poorly written. Maya barely had any dialogues and she was a little more than a showpiece.
Zara Noor Abbas and Ahmed Ali Butt were wasted in the film and their roles terribly written. Zara is a talented actor and her comic timing is brilliant which is why I honestly felt upset with the way she was presented. I wish she had more screentime and her character had been more developed because she lit up the screen every time she came on. Also, why wasn’t her styling given the same amount of importance as Maya? While Maya breezed through the film in one gorgeous outfit after another, Zara’s outfits and looks were lazily done. The makeup was also a letdown – the lip colours too light and the eyes heavily done. Maya is a stunning actor and she stole the screen in Teefa in Trouble. In Parey Hut Love not so much.
Zara looks out of place in this coral pink outfit
On the flip, the cinematography, especially the ariel shots, locations, costumes, sets were amazing because of which the film was aesthetically very pleasing. The songs were also beautiful. Kudos to Azaan Sami Khan for delivering one stellar track after another and to Nigah Jee for the brilliant choreography. Morey Saiyaan, Ik Pal and Haye Dil Bechara were a treat to watch and frankly the biggest takeaway from the film.
Munawar has grown as an actor and honed his talent. He has also worked on his physique and all his hard work showed in the film. Maya could have done much better. Ahmed, Zara and Hina Dilapazeer gave some of the best moments from the film with their impeccable comedy.
The surface of Parey Hut Love was polished till it sparkled while little to no attention was paid to the core – the inside of the film was hollow.
Note – This article was updated on August 1, 2020. With no new movies hitting cinemas this year due to the COVID-19 lockdown, TV channels are airing their previous releases. Parey Hut Love was 2019’s highest-grossing film.
Parey Hut Love’s Haye Dil Bechara is the shaadi anthem of the season and has everyone hooked to its groovy tune. But our happy bubble popped when a Twitter user alleged that the song has been ‘inspired’ by a Spanish song titled Sofia by Spanish-German singer Álvaro Tauchert Soler. The song, released in 2016, was a hit in Europe, reaching number 1 in Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium and Switzerland.
On the other hand, Haye Dil Bechara’s music has been composed by Azaan Sami Khan, while the film’s director Asim Raza has penned the lyrics of the song sung by Jimmy Khan.

Do you think Haye Dil Bechara has been inspired or copied?
Meanwhile the team of Parey Hut Love, including director Asim Raza, producer Sheheryar Munawar and music composer Azaan Sami Khan have not yet responded to the claims.
However, journalist Fifi Haroon stated that the story was previously done and dusted.
OK so last year someone came out with the Spanish song that Haye Dil Bechara is supposed to sound like. Amazes me that the same story has turned up again and publications and websites are using it as if it’s new! Come on guys!https://t.co/r8Pc0NY1RL
Maya Ali’s only brother Afnan got married in a grand shehndi Friday night. Maya, who is a brilliant dancer, set the dance floor on fire with her moves and while dancing to Haye Dil Bechara from her film Parey Hut Love, Maya pulled Sheheryar on stage with her and the two grooved to the tune of it.

Sheheryar attended the wedding with his father.
Maya’s brother’s festivities began with a qawali followed by mayun.

While Mahira had the leading role in Superstar, she had an extended cameo in PHL.
Mahira started her trip down the memory lane with a picture of herself resting on the floor on the sets of her song Morey Saiyaan in PHL.
In the caption, she said that she feels “super comfortable on the floor” and “prefers it to sitting on a chair.”
Following that she shared more pictures of herself as Zeena including some adorable moments with producer and co-star Sheheryar Munawar and director Asim Raza.

In the Twitter interaction with her fans, Mahira revealed the one film she can watch 10 times without getting bored, her last decade in a sentence, how she wants to be remembered, which Disney character she feels she is, and how she deals with her anger among other things.
Hahaha! Good question. I can get very angry, I do. But I usually only get upset with people I love a lot or am very close to. And take it out on them. https://t.co/9Wv685fYe2
@annoyyyinlady this will pass. Promise. You will look back at it one day with a smile. Therapy helps a lot. Please consider it. https://t.co/4XkPaY1WUw

Parey Hut Love, which released on Eid ul Azha, was this year’s highest-grossing Pakistani film. Catch The Current‘s review of the film in this video:
Gear up Pakistanis – we’re getting a new superhero!
Comedy king Ahmed Ali Butt and the talented duo behind Load Wedding and Actor in Law, Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza are coming together for a new superhero film titled Fatman.
Butt announced the film on social media by sharing a selfie with the film’s makers.
He captioned it, “AlhumduliAllah it’s official. My next film and my first as a lead with these crazy people.”
“Looking forward to making a great film with these great, creative filmmakers and hope you’ll all love it as much as I love the script… InshAllah, see you next year.”
The film’s name had us intrigued so we got in touch with the director and lead actor for some inside details.
Speaking exclusively about the film to The Current, Ahmad said, “It’s a different and bold take on superhero films but at the core, it is a story about a father-son relationship.”
He added, “It also addresses body shaming, yet keeps the family entering factors in mind.”
Meanwhile, Nabeel revealed, “It’s a real-life superhero family entertainment film with a great message which talks about body shaming, with pun intended.”
The film will be directed by Nabeel and produced by Fizza Ali Meerza under their production house Filmwala Pictures. Shooting for the film is expected to start early next year while the release is slated to be in late 2020.
High on the success of his film Parey Hut Love, it appears that Sheheyar Munawar has shot yet another ‘exciting project’ with creative genius Asim Raza in Turkey.
Pictures of the actor, director and their team at beautiful locales across the country have been silently making their way to social media over the past week.
Sheheryar later also posted a picture of himself with Asim on Instagram with the caption, “Had the opportunity of working with this genius again, on a very exciting and ambitious (to say the least) project.”
We’re pretty curious to know what the duo is up to. Have they started shooting their next film or is it just an advertisement? Guess we’ll have to wait and watch.
Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with The Current, Sheheryar had said that we will be seeing him next on the big screen “very soon” and it appears that it will be sooner than we expected.
