During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Mobeen was shown videos of Bollywood actors who recreated her video. Among those was Genelia and Riteish’s video in which they were celebrating their dog’s birthday, ‘Pawri Ho Rai Hai‘ style. In the video, the Ek Villain actor can be seen showing the celebrations and saying: “This is Flash, this is us, and this is our party.”

Reacting to the video, Mobeen said: “The couple is so beautiful. I’ve also grown up looking and admiring them and recreating this trend in such a beautiful way. And Flash is so cute,” she added.

In response to Mobeen’s reaction, Genelia and Riteish sent the young Pakistani influencer love.

“Lotsa Love Dananeer. Flash says thank you,” said Genelia, while Riteish wrote: “Hey Dananeer wishing you all the best form our side. Much love.”

“Grateful and humbled,” said Dananeer responding to Riteish’s tweet.

Earlier in the interview she said that as a child, she used to stare endlessly at pictures of Shah Rukh, and that her favourite Kareena character is Poo, from the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

She told Bollywood Hungama, “The character Poo I think not just me but I think the entire world can relate. I think I personally relate to Poo at times. So, I’ll just be sitting with friends and they’ll something like: ‘Okay! So we’re gonna watch a movie’ and I’ll be like, ‘tell me how it was’!”

Asked if there is an element of Poo in the ‘Pawri girl’, she said, “Poo I think humare andar bas gaya hai (Poo is deeply ingrained in all of us). So in anything that you do, it’s the sass, that Poo comes out.”

Dananeer was also asked if she had a message for Kareena, who recently gave birth to her second child, she said, “Two beautiful beautiful children Mashallah.”

Dananeer, who has had scores of celebrities from all corners of the subcontinent react to her viral meme, said that she would ‘go crazy’ if Shah Rukh sends her a message.

Mahira Khan, Aiman Khan are done with the ‘pawri’

After weeks of ‘pawri-ing it up’, it seems that Pakistan, including our favourite divas Mahira Khan and Aiman Khan, are done with the trend.

Mahira expressed her feelings on the trend with a hilarious meme featuring Batman and Robin. In the meme, Batman can be seen slapping Robin who tries to recreate ‘Pawri Ho Rai Hai,’ asking him to shut up.

However, fans were quick to criticise Mahira, saying she was among the first to recreate the Pawri video.

While one social media user wrote: “Yeh pehly khudi dance kar rahi thi, ab chup karwa re. Ajeeb,” another thanked Mahira for asking for a stop on the trend, saying: “Thank you for being brave enough to speak about the things no one talks about!!”.

Meanwhile, Aiman also shared the same meme on social media.

  • NA-75 by-polls: Maryam joins in on ‘Pawri ho rahi ha’ trend, uses it to call out ‘rigging’

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has also joined in on the ‘Pawri Ho Rahi Ha’ trend, as she used it to call out alleged rigging reportedly carried out by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government during the NA-75 by-polls in Daska, Sialkot.

Pawri‘ trend went viral earlier this month, with celebrities from across the sub-continent adding to its popularity.

During her address in Daska, Maryam said: “Yeh dhund hai, yeh Daska hai, aur Imran Khan awam ka vote chori kartay huay range haathon pakra gya hai [This is fog, this is Daska, and this is Imran Khan getting caught red-handed while stealing votes].”

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, the PML-N vice president said that the events that transpired in the aftermath of voting in Daska have exposed the PTI government. She said the government’s alleged plan to steal votes was foiled by people who guarded their vote.

The PML-N vice president accused the ruling party of taking the “20 presiding officers” hostage. She questioned why out of the 361 polling stations, the staff of only 20 polling stations had to go missing during the “fog” and why were the results of these polling stations suddenly changed when the officers returned after 12 hours.

On Friday, at least two people were shot dead as both PML-N and the PTI alleged irregularities during the by-election on the National Assembly seat in Daska. Subsequently, the Election Commission of Pakistan withheld the results, saying it suspected irregularities in 20 polling stations.

The commission said results of the NA-75 constituency were received with “unnecessary delay”, adding that it tried to contact the presiding officers several times but with no success.
