A-list actor Hania Aamir’s outstanding performance in the new TV serial ‘Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum’ has earned her a famous fan.

Fellow critics and actors Shamoon Abbasi and Rubina Ashraf agreed with Marina Khan’s praise.

“I’ve never seen Hania perform like she did in these last two episodes. She was extraordinary, like acting in an international project,” said Abbasi.
Rubina Ashraf added, “Hania is undoubtedly a very capable actor. I’ve been her fan since her debut movie ‘Janaan’ where she outshone everyone.

With all the good scripts that came her way, she never disappoints.”

  • Six easy tips to keep your laptop cool and prevent overheating

Six easy tips to keep your laptop cool and prevent overheating

Overheating in laptops is pretty common, and many laptop owners have experienced it. Sometimes aging laptops may be overheating due to internal hardware problems that most people may not be able to fix.

However, the most common type of overheating is caused by lack of adequate airflow within the machine. Overheating can cause your laptop to slow down, crash, or even suffer permanent damage.

If you want to keep your laptop running cool and healthy, there are a few things you can do:

    1. Use your laptop on a flat surface. This will help to ensure that the air vents on the bottom of your laptop are not blocked.
    1. Elevate your laptop. If you’re using your laptop on a soft surface, such as a bed or your lap, the air vents may be getting blocked. To improve airflow, try placing your laptop on a book or a lap desk.
    1. Invest in a laptop cooling pad. Laptop cooling pads use fans to help draw heat away from your laptop. If you use your laptop for demanding tasks, such as gaming or video editing, a laptop cooling pad can be a great way to prevent overheating.
    1. Clean your laptop’s vents regularly. Over time, dust and debris can build up in your laptop’s vents, blocking airflow. To clean your laptop’s vents, you can use a can of compressed air or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.
    1. Monitor your laptop’s temperature. There are a number of different programs that you can use to monitor your laptop’s temperature. If you notice that your laptop is getting too hot, you can take steps to cool it down, such as closing unnecessary programs or taking a break from using your laptop.
    1. Keep your laptop’s software up to date. Software updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes that can help to reduce overheating.

If you’ve tried all of the above tips and your laptop is still overheating, there may be a problem with the hardware. In this case, you may need to take your laptop to a qualified technician to have it repaired.

Here are some additional tips to help you prevent your laptop from overheating:

    • Avoid using your laptop in hot environments
    • Close any programs that you’re not using
    • Reduce the brightness of your laptop’s screen
    • Put your laptop on sleep mode when you’re not using it
    • Don’t overclock your laptop

By following these tips, you can help to keep your laptop running cool and healthy for many years to come.

Why is it important to prevent laptop overheating?

Overheating can cause a number of problems for your laptop, including:

    • Reduced performance: When your laptop overheats, it will throttle its performance in order to protect itself from damage. This can lead to slower performance and lag.
    • Crashes: If your laptop overheats too much, it may crash or even shut down completely.
    • Permanent damage: Over time, overheating can damage your laptop’s internal components. This can lead to costly repairs or even replacement.

By taking steps to prevent overheating, you can help to keep your laptop running smoothly and efficiently for longer.

On Sunday, City Police Officer (CPO) Operations Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari instructed all station house officers (SHOs) to disclose their assets. The CPO also directed that biometric attendance should be ensured in all wings of the operations division, and biometric machines should be installed as soon as possible.

He added that the weekly performance of each officer will be reviewed, and investigation officers should meet plaintiffs in all cases. These instructions were given at a meeting held to review crime and performance at the divisional level, which was chaired by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan.

It is worth noting that police officers across the country, especially SHOs, face allegations of corruption due to the unlimited powers they hold as the head of police stations. CPO Bukhari urged present and former SHOs to work together to make a concrete action plan to deal with crime, with the main target being criminals and proclaimed offenders. He also instructed the officers to ensure the cleanliness of police stations and to make the patrolling system more efficient.

According to Dawn, the IGP reviewed the crime performance at the divisional level and directed officers to adopt comprehensive strategies to prevent crime in their respective areas. He suggested that safe city monitoring should be implemented at the police station level to help SHOs trace criminal elements early. The IGP also instructed SHOs to spend more time in police stations and a special plan should be made to eliminate serious crimes, especially street crime, and drug trafficking, particularly in educational institutions. The details of buyers of stolen goods should also be collected, and postmortems should be done on every dead body.

Moreover, the IGP urged the acceleration of the crackdown on illegal weapons, and the completion of challans of under-investigation cases as soon as possible and submitted to relevant courts. He also emphasised that more personnel were being provided in police stations, and special campaigns against offenders should continue, with offenders brought to justice. The IGP also listened to the problems of all the SHOs and promised to solve them on a priority basis.

Punjab IT Board develops more than 500 quality websites for different govt departments

For several government departments in the province, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has designed and developed more than 500 official websites, 490 of which are in English and 18 of which are in Urdu.

This was announced at a progress review meeting on Tuesday presided over by PITB Chairman Syed Bilal Haider. The meeting was briefed on how the PITB’s web presence team developed these websites with a strong emphasis on transparency and citizen facilitation, offering optimised performance, scalability, improved loading times, and responsiveness.

According to The News, the Punjab government has been helping many ministries set up portals to increase the government’s online presence with the help of PITB. CPEC, Web 3.0, SMU, CM Inspection Team, PESSI, Punjab Portal, Punjab Examination Commission, Lahore High Court, Punjab Police, Excise & Taxation Department, Punjab Information Technology Board, Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority, Finance Department, and Chief Minister Punjab are among the top 10 websites developed by PITB among many others.

As websites are being developed, PITB instructs the relevant departmental officials how to frequently and independently update and manage the content on their own websites.

PITB has assisted various government departments, including the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the Baluchistan Police, the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, and National History and Literary Heritage, in addition to creating websites for the administrative departments of Punjab and their affiliated bodies. The services offered as part of this project are all free. You can visit the websites created by the PITB’s web presence team at pitb.gov.pk/web.

  • Here’s a look at the upcoming Honda Vezel 2023

Here’s a look at the upcoming Honda Vezel 2023

Honda’s mini-SUV, the HR-V is finally approaching its second generation. The upcoming model will have some significant upgrades from styling to engine performance.

It will be bulkier, futuristic, and more powerful than the previous model, with better looks than the smaller, hybrid-only European variant introduced in 2021.

    VEZEL and HR-V confusion

For those who may not know, the original name for ‘Honda Vezel’ is ‘Honda HR-V’. This hybrid vehicle has become quite famous in Pakistan for its good looks and impressive fuel consumption despite being an expensive completely built-up (CBU) unit. It is mostly witnessed with a ‘Vezel’ badging instead of ‘HR-V’ here.

The Japanese automaker said that the new subcompact SUV will be based on the same platform as the international Honda Civic variants. It has a longer wheelbase than before, and the rear suspension is now independent.

    Engine and Performance

One important thing Honda revealed about the powertrain is that it will be a more responsive engine as compared to the prior one, which might be the Civic’s 180-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four, replacing the existing HR-V’s 141-horsepower 1.8-liter inline-four.

The HR-V’s engine for the base model could be the naturally aspirated 158-hp 2.0-liter inline-four from the Civic’s lower trim levels. Front-wheel drive will almost certainly be standard, with all-wheel drive as an option, and a CVT automatic transmission will almost certainly be the only transmission option. A hybrid HR-V is also expected to enter the lineup, though it may arrive later than the fuel-only model.

Honda has not officially revealed any photographs or details of the HR-V’s interior, however, it will be exciting to see how the new platform will affect its packaging. As the fuel tank was positioned behind the front seats, the previous HR-V, like the Fit, had a surprisingly low cargo floor.

The LX, Sport, EX, and EX-L variants from the current model are anticipated to continue over. Honda also published a video showcasing the new HR-V in a variety of colours, including red, silver, black, and white. Unfortunately, there is no official statement released by the company regarding its price and availability in other regions.

‘Forget Nawaz-Zardari; what is your govt doing?’ Shahid Afridi lashes out at PM Khan

Cricket legend Shahid Afridi believes that Prime Minister Imran Khan is ‘stuck in the system.’

Talking to The Current, Shahid Afridi said that the government should focus on its own performance rather than focusing on what past governments did or did not do.

“Why is the Prime Minister always saying he will not give anyone an NRO. If the state institutions and judiciary are independent, let them do their work.” Afridi added that the government needs to show what it has done so far instead of just targeting Opposition leaders.

Afridi made this comment in an interview on Samaa TV show, ‘Sawal’, saying that when PM Khan used to speak before becoming the Prime Minister, the entire nation would stand up in favour of Khan, but now all he does is give explanations.

Advising the PM, he said that the premier should now leave Zardari and Nawaz Sharif. Since the past two and a half years only talks about them where ever he goes.

He stressed that Khan should become the change for which people voted for him in 2013 and 2018.

PM tells spokespersons to ignore Opp, only highlight govt performance

Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed his spokespersons to highlight the government performance and has barred them from responding to the opposition’s statements.

According to details, a meeting of government ministers and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokespersons was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan, in which the current political, economic and COVID-19 situation in the country was discussed.

During the meeting, the premier – in a bid to deal with the sugar satta mafia – directed the concerned authorities to bring a new law in the country.

In order to ensure the availability of sugar at affordable rates, the prime minister directed to launch a countrywide crackdown on the sugar satta mafia. He directed the concerned authorities to take indiscriminate action against the aforementioned mafia to provide relief to the masses ahead of the holy month of Ramzan.

The PM has instead ordered steps taken for cuts in the prices of sugar, flour, and lentil instead, he confirmed.
