According to insights from esteemed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this groundbreaking addition has ignited speculation about the iPhone 15 Pro Max becoming a dominant force in Apple’s product lineup.

    Scheduled for unveiling at Apple’s September 12 event, the iPhone 15 series is generating fervent excitement among tech enthusiasts. Notably, the standard iPhone 15 models are poised to receive notable enhancements such as the integration of a USB Type-C port and the introduction of Dynamic Island. In stark contrast, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, also referred to as the iPhone 15 Ultra, could potentially redefine the landscape with its revolutionary features.

    In a recent communication by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo via Medium (as reported by 9to5Mac), an intriguing projection has been put forth. Kuo suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max might contribute to an impressive 35–40 per cent of Apple’s initial shipments, potentially ascending to the pinnacle of their sales chart. This forecast is substantiated by an anticipated 10 per cent surge in projected shipments for the iPhone 15 Pro compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The focal point of this enhancement lies in the inclusion of the periscope lens, an exclusive offering dedicated solely to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

While the authenticity of these claims remains unverified, there are subtle indications of a potential $200 price increment for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, marking a significant shift and the first such adjustment since the iPhone 11 series. The convergence of cutting-edge technology and consumer demand is positioning the iPhone 15 Pro Max as a formidable contender in the smartphone arena.

    Winner of SONY photography contest turns down award, confesses image was created by AI

    Boris Eldagsen, the German photographer who won the prestigious SONY World Photography Contest, has turned down the award after confessing that his image was an Artificial Intelligence (AI) creation.

    Eldagsen, a former student of photography and visual arts at the Art Academy of Mainz, and Conceptual Art and Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, had submitted his photograph titled ‘Pseudomnesia: The Electrician’ for the creative open category. The photo was a haunting black-and-white image of two women from different generations.

    In a statement posted on his website, Eldagsen said he ‘applied as a cheeky monkey’ to check if photography competitions are prepared to identify AI images, but they are not.

    “We, the photo world, need an open discussion,” Eldagsen wrote. “A discussion about what we want to consider photography and what not. Is the umbrella of photography large enough to invite AI images to enter – or would this be a mistake? With my refusal of the award I hope to speed up this debate.”

    Eldagsen thanked the judges for picking his photograph for the award, pointing out that this was a historic moment because for the first time an AI image had won a prestigious photography competition, and hoped that this would encourage them to recognize the difference between real and AI generated photographs.

    “How many of you knew or suspected that it was AI generated? Something about this doesn’t feel right, does it? AI images and photography should not compete with each other in an award like this. They are different entities. AI is not photography. Therefore I will not accept the award.”

    A spokesperson from the World Photography Organisation has confirmed in a statement that Eldagsen had revealed to them that his image was created using AI, before he had been announced as a winner.

    “In our correspondence, he explained how following ‘two decades of photography, my artistic focus has shifted more to exploring creative possibilities of AI generators’ and further emphasising the image heavily relies on his ‘wealth of photographic knowledge’. As per the rules of the competition, the photographers provide the warranties of their entry. The creative category of the open competition welcomes various experimental approaches to image making from cyanotypes and rayographs to cutting-edge digital practices. As such, following our correspondence with Boris and the warranties he provided, we felt that his entry fulfilled the criteria for this category, and we were supportive of his participation.”

    A Lithuanian photographer took home a prize in a Nikon photography competition for his remarkable shot of an ant’s face. Wildlife photographer Eugenijus Kavaliauskas presented his highly magnified ant photo at the 2022 Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition.

    His submission was one of the 57 selected “Images of Distinction”. The picture of the ant’s face, magnified five times under a microscope, won one Nikon item valued at $35.
    The goal of the competition is to showcase the craft of microscopic photography while encouraging participants to record minute details that the human eye cannot notice.
    The picture of the ant has gone viral on social media, with many terming the ant’s face “demonic” and something straight out of a horror movie.

    The ant in the close up had red eyes and what appeared to be golden fangs .The photographer said that there are no horrors in nature.

    Meanwhile, the top place for this year’s photography competition went to an image of the embryonic hand of a Madagascar gecko, taken by Grigorii Timing of the University of Geneva.

    Picture of widowed penguins comforting each other will warm your heart

    A picture of two widowed penguins appearing to comfort each other in Australia has won Oceanographic magazine’s Ocean Photography Awards.

    The photo was taken by German photographer Tobias Baumgaertner in Melbourne.

    He was told that the two penguins had recently lost their partners and they often appeared to be comforting each other through a warm hug.

    The German photographer won the magazine’s Community Choice Award.

    “A volunteer approached me and told me that the white one was an elderly lady who had lost her partner and apparently so did the younger male to the left,” the photographer wrote in an Instagram post.

    “Since then they meet regularly, comforting each other and standing together for hours watching the dancing lights of the nearby city.”

    The photographer spent three nights with the penguin colony to capture this very moment.

    “Between not being able or allowed to use any lights and the tiny penguins continuously moving, rubbing their flippers on each other’s backs and cleaning one another, it was really hard to get a shot,” he said.

    “But I got lucky during one beautiful moment.”

    Lahore-based photographer Areesh Zubair, who initiated an interesting project titled Duur se Portrait during the lockdown, wrapped up season one of the series with family portraits of Fawad, his wife Sadaf, their two children and their dog.

    Pictures from the shoot have gone viral on social media, with fans sending love to the actor and his family.

    In the caption, Zubair shared that he took these photographs on June 14, 2020. Last month, the family also welcomed a new addition after the couple was blessed with a baby girl.

    The photographer, while explaining the series, said: “Making full use of this time of lockdown, I began to innovate with documenting the pandemic and came up with the #DuurSePortrait Series, where I visited homes, asked people to pose on their balconies and took their portraits whilst maintaining a lot of safe, #DuurSe distance – which was one of the key precautions for this virus.”

    “However, as miraculously as it was, the lockdown was lifted in the country, after which I had to pause this series as life went back to normal. With the virus entering its second phase now, almost a year later, I really don’t know if I’ll be able to restart the series or not,” he continued.

    “One thing is for sure, though – with this very special picture take of the Fawad A Khan clan, I officially announce the end of #DuurSePortrait Season.”

    A man in Belgaum, India expressed his love for photography by making a house that resembled a camera.

    According to details, Ravi Hongal loved photography ever since he was a child and used to go to the nearby rural areas to take pictures.

    The 49-year-old is so passionate about photography that he even named his sons after the famous camera brands. He named his sons Canon, Nikon and Epson which are also written on the house.

    Ravi spent approximately Rs 15953750 to build the three-story house. The exterior of the house consists of a lens, a flash, a showreel, a memory card and a viewfinder. Also, the ceilings and walls inside the home resemble various parts of the camera.
