    ‘Superstars are back’: Twitter reacts to PTI’s new song

    Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has released its new official “anthem” titled “Saray Niklo Pakistan Ke Liye” today (Monday).

    The song is sung by Jawad Kahlon, Shahzaman and features former Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail. The lyrics and composition are by Kahlon while music and video credits go to Azeem Amin. The video has crossed 10,000 mark views on YouTube.

    Ismail took to Twitter to share the news, with a caption saying: “Tried to highlight Imran Khan’s message in the anthem. It is the voice of the people.”

    Right after the release of the “party’s anthem”, Twitter was flooded with lots of reactions.

    Earlier in the day, PTI’s leader Fawad Chaudhry reacted to the song in a tweet, stating simply, “Superstars are back”.

    In 2018, PTI released the song “Tabdeeli ayi reh”. The previous song is also sung by Kahlon, Shahzaman and Ismail.

    Political leaders need to find solution to problems through dialogue, says CJP Bandial

    Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial has said that political issues require political leaders to put their heads together and come up with a solution through dialogue while the judiciary alone cannot solve all problems.

    CJP Bandial on Friday while addressing the ninth International Judicial Conference said that the judiciary is determined to protect the constitution and the day is not far when Pakistan will become a progressive and prosperous state.

    Referring to Yousuf Raza Gillani’s case and that of the National Assembly’s former Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, the chief justice said that decisions are made in greater constitutional interest.

    “We protected the constitution of Pakistan,” he declared.

    He further said that good governance is an important pillar for defending human rights.

    Talking about the constitution, he said that it guarantees the protection of basic human rights and that the judiciary is committed to protecting human rights without any prejudices or partiality.

    “That is why we took several suo motos to safeguard basic human rights,” he stated.

  • UK agencies start investigation against Pakistani charities for misuse of funds

    The United Kingdom (UK) National Charity Commission (NCC) and National Crime Agency (NCA) have launched an investigation into the misuse of funds by Pakistani charity organisations for political purposes, Naeem Hanif reports for Samaa News.

    The investigation is being done to find out whether these charity organisations misused charity for political purposes in Pakistan or not.

    Both agencies launched the investigation after receiving several complaints. It is being reported that complainants also provided evidence to both agencies.

    The evidence includes the verdict of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in foreign funding case, a report by the Financial Times that revealed the party’s foreign funding sources, and details of its bank accounts.

    Last week, the top electoral body ruled that the former ruling party did indeed receive prohibited funding

    and issued a show-cause notice to the party.

    The ECP said that the party, in violation of the Constitution, had received funds from 34 foreign entities. The party received funds from the United States, Australia, and the UAE. The ECP added that 13 unidentified accounts also surfaced during the probe in the PTI funding case.

    Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while addressing his party workers in Multan said that “ [Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz President] Shehbaz Sharif is the party president, his decision should be final.”

    According to the chairman, whenever Sharif makes a statement, party members say that it is his own “personal decision”, reports Geo.

    Furthermore, he argued that “If Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had stayed, it could hold a long march, and before reaching Lahore, they could have made [Chief Minister of Punjab] Usman Buzdar resign, and [Prime Minister] Imran Khan would have resigned before the march reached Islamabad. Shehbaz was aware of all the formulas.”

    Bilawal, adding that his party had sincerely wanted to oust the government through PDM said that “The PDM leadership started talking about our resignations instead of the Punjab chief minister and the prime minister’s resignations.”

    Earlier this month Sharif suggested the formation of a national government. He said, “It needs collective wisdom and requires collective efforts to fix [the problems of Pakistan]. That’s why I think we should have a national government in place to sort out these huge tasks. Even if we [PML-N] win a majority, we can’t fix it alone.”

    Upon this Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi made his comment while talking to The News by saying that, “There is no option for ‘national govt’ in Constitution.

    “Our party has already made it clear that Shehbaz did not talk about it [national government] and he was misquoted by some circles”, he added.

    Moreover during the rally Bilawal taunted the government by saying that the Centre was proposing to roll out electronic voting machines when there is persistent load shedding in the country.

    In early June both PPP and Awami National Party (ANP) left PDM by saying that the leaders of the fragmented anti-government alliance appear to be “confused and divided”.
