‘Gandi gandi videos tayyar kar rahay hain’: Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in a rally held on Tuesday has alleged that his opponents are making morphed, fake and “dirty” videos of him through latest technology.

“They are making my dirty, deep fakes videos. They are using everything in their capacity to damage my party’s and my name,” said Imran Khan in his speech.

Declaring that he is going to court, the former Prime Minister asked how is it possible that the Premier’s house’s secure line gets recorded and later released to the public. “I will definitely probe which intelligence agency is behind this,” he stated.

“Am I some enemy of the country? Whatever they do, they cannot stop the flood of people,” asked the PTI chairman.

  • Committee formed to investigate stolen cipher from PM House

The federal cabinet announced the formation of a committee to probe the diplomatic cipher that it was said has been ‘stolen’ from the records of the Prime Minister’s House, a statement issued by the premier’s office said.

“The meeting was told that although there is a record of the receipt of the cipher sent to the former premier at the Prime Minister’s House, its copy is not available in the record,” said the statement. As per the law, the cable is property of the Prime Minister’s House, it added.

The statement said that the meeting termed the ‘theft’ of the letter a serious matter and, following a detailed consultation, the cabinet formed a special committee to launch an investigation.

The committee will recommend what legal action the government should take against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the then principal secretary to prime minister Azam Khan, and former ministers.

It is pertinent to mention here that Khan was ousted from power in a vote of no-confidence, however, the former Prime Minister has alleged that his government had received a threatening letter and that a foreign conspiracy was behind this.

Imran asks ‘neutrals’ who is responsible for PMO audio leaks?

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday asked the “neutrals” — the term he uses for the military establishment — who was responsible for the security breach at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

“I ask them [neutrals] that the audio leaks of the Prime Minister Office […] if the security of the Prime Minister Office has been breached […] this means that our enemies have our sensitive information,” Imran said in a speech at Edwardes College in Peshawar today. “Who is responsible for this,” he asked.

“I ask the protectors today […] if robbers are looting a house, can the guards say that they are neutral? What will the residents say? That the house is being looted but the guards say they are neutral,” Imran said, claiming that Pakistan, too, was being “looted” today.

Responding to Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz said, ““The massive security breach you have done sitting in the PMO with your secretary and followers, even the biggest enemies of Pakistan couldn’t compete with it,” she tweeted.

“A foreign-funded evil mind has been playing with the destiny of the country for the past four years and has the nerve to do that same today,” Maryam added.

Khan’s comments come in relevance to his audio leaks related to the cipher and the foreign conspiracy.

  • Gen Bajwa told Imran Khan that it is not safe to talk at PM House, says Fawad

Gen Bajwa told Imran Khan that it is not safe to talk at PM House, says Fawad

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had informed former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan multiple times that the PM House is unsafe for important conversations.

“The army chief told Imran Khan that the points that what we discuss here is recorded and leaked later on,” he said, adding that, “General Bajwa had said Nawaz Sharif stepped out of PM House when he wanted to talk to him about some vital issue.”

The PTI leader said that it is unacceptable for PM Office to be hacked, regardless of who is premier — whether Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif or Imran Khan.

Fawad said he doesn’t support the PM’s telephones being tapped.

Fawad’s comments come after several audio leaks of PM Shehbaz Sharif along with federal minister were leaked.

On Wednesday, September 28, an audio of Khan was leaked as well.

Khan can be heard talking about the alleged foreign conspiracy against him with his then principal secretary Azam Khan.

He tells Azam Khan: ‘Iss par hi khelna hai’, without mentioning the name of the United States, and they then discuss how to form a team on the issue.

The “cipher” lies at the heart of PTI’s claim that the US plotted with individuals within Pakistan to remove Khan from office. It is based on then-envoy Asad Majeed’s meeting with State Department employee Donald Lu.

Prime Minister House to be converted to university in 72 months

The bill seeking the establishment of a university at the Prime Minister (PM) House finally reached the Senate on Tuesday, reports Dawn.

According to the bill, which has already been passed by the National Assembly (NA), the project once started, will take 72 months to complete.

Last year, officials from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on the direction of the PM Office, had visited Sir Syed Memorial Society building in G-5. The HEC and CDA had later shared a report with the PM office, stating the building was suitable for starting the university.

The University of Engineering and Emerging Technology Bill 2022 was tabled in the Senate by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Khan on behalf of Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood.

Chairman Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani referred the bill to the Senate Standing Committee on Education for consideration.

  • Boris Johnson warns UK could place France on ‘red list’

Britain could soon place France on a travel “red list” and tighten border controls due to the risk of a new coronavirus variant, Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson said on Wednesday.

France is expanding lockdown due to the rising number of cases after the third wave hit the country.

The South African and Brazilian variants of the virus prevalent in France are potentially more transmissible, which has caused particular concern.

United Kingdom’s (UK) Senior Members of Parliament (MPs) asked why France was not on the British’s travel “red list”, to which Johnson said that it was “something we will have to look” at while warning it “would cause disruption, particularly to cross-Channel trade”.

Placing the country on a red list means barring travellers from entering the UK unless they are British or Irish nationals or have residence rights.

Johnson acknowledged that “we have to look at the situation at the Channel”.

“We can’t rule out tougher measures, and we will put them in if necessary,” he said.

Many lorry drivers were entering the UK and, when MPs raised their concerns, Johnson said that the government has to mitigate the balance of risks. It will cause “serious disruption” to the flow of goods such as food and medicine.

England’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Chris Whitty and his deputy Jonathan Van-Tam have also reportedly put pressure on Johnson to bring in stricter border controls.

‘Salary not enough to pay for my expenses’ says PM Imran Khan

Addressing the business community in Islamabad, Prime Minister Khan stated that the business community needs to pay taxes if the country is going to get out of the present economic crisis. He urged them to work with the government and help in collecting more taxes.

He also said that people didn’t want to pay taxes because former rulers had looted the country and lost the trust of the people. “When leaders live lavishly on public expense, who will pay taxes?” he asked.

He said that he had slashed the expenses of the PM house by 40 percent and that he lived in his own home and paid his own expenses. “My salary is not enough to fulfil by own household expenses,” he said, adding that he did not start any business after becoming the Prime Minister and that the expenses of his foreign tours were 10 times less than previous rulers.

PM Khan is leaving for Davos today where he will be speaking at the World Economic Forum.
