    Property dealer shoots himself allegedly due to financial dispute in Rawalpindi

    A property dealer identified as Arshad Jamal has reportedly taken his own life by shooting himself in Rawalpindi.

    The video in which he is seen committing suicide has been widely shared which brought attention to the case, and the police launched an investigation.

    The video footage shows the dealer, sitting in the office of another property dealer within a housing society, inquiring about a particular individual to an office boy. Upon receiving an unsatisfactory response regarding the person’s whereabouts, the dealer takes out a gun from his bag, places it against his temple, and presses the trigger, resulting in instant death.

    The police, under the supervision of Rawat police station SHO Muhammad Zulfiqar, gathered evidence and transferred the deceased to a medical facility, reported The Express Tribune.

    SHO Rawat confirmed that a preliminary report has been initiated based on statements from Gulfam Shehzad, the nephew of the deceased.
    According to the nephew’s statement, the deceased Arshad Jamal had contacted him before the incident, mentioning a financial dispute with another man named Sheikh Tayyab amounting to Rs300 million.

    The video is disturbing and so for obvious reasons we are just including the image from the CCTV footage.

    A preliminary report has been lodged to dig deep into this matter.

    A Rawalpindi native, identified as Riaz Shah tortured his widow sister-in-law and her daughters along with other accomplices by attacking them with shovels. The incident occured in Sher Zaman Colony of the Garrison City.

    SSP Operations Kamran Asghar has that the suspect Riaz Shah is the brother-in-law of the victim. A house dispute erupted between the two parties when the suspect asked for a share while the house is in the name of the late husband of the victim, reports Geo News.

    Riaz Shah has been arrested and a case has been registered.

    Taking notice of the incident, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has asked for immediate action against the accused. While seeking a report from police authorities, she has said that violence against women is not going to be tolerated.

    SSP Operations Kamran Asghar and other police officers also visited the house of the victim’s family and inquired about their well-being. They sought information about the incident and assured them of cooperation.

    Woman strangles 8-years-old nephew over property dispute

    A woman in the Ghazi Tehsil of Haripur allegedly strangled her minor nephew and threw his body into a well over a property dispute. She has been arrested by the police along with two accomplices, reports Dawn.

    The boy, Abdul Moeed, 8, a student of grade III, went to school on Feb 21 but didn’t return home. The family searched for the missing boy, but could not find any clue to his whereabouts, informing the police.

    As per the initial investigation conducted by the police, the suspect, Abida Shaheen, was identified by the police upon investigation of her mobile phone record. She disclosed that she strangled Moeed with the help of two accomplices, Waseem and Mohammad Akhtar, and then threw his body into a well in the village.

    After her confession, the police recovered the body from the well and shifted it to Ghazi Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for autopsy.

    A criminal case was registered against the woman and the accomplices under sections 201, 202, and 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

    The motive behind the boy’s murder was a property dispute between two brothers – the husband of the accused woman and the boy’s father – the police said.
