During an appearance on Desi Book, Babrik Shah shared his thoughts on the blockbuster film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt.’
Host Junaid Saleem asked, “I was reading your statement in an interview, where you said about Maula Jatt that Hamza Ali Abbasi and Fawad Khan are like a ‘burger family’ and that Maula Jatt and Noori Natt are not like that.”
Shah replied, “They are a burger family, now, just imagine a guy from a burger family trying to speak Punjabi. Where will he even get that deep, commanding voice like Noori Natt? And then there’s Sultan Rahi, he had that manly vibe, that power in his delivery, which is just not there anymore. It doesn’t have that same feeling. And the way they’re speaking Punjabi nowadays, it’s like they’ve just learned it or someone taught them how to speak it. That’s why I said it had a very ‘mummy daddy’ style, lacking that true masculine essence.”
Talking about the remake the outspoken model said,“Maula Jatt was a masterpiece of its time, a true classic that stood the test of time. It should never have been remade.”
I recently watched ‘Wild Wild Punjab’ on Netflix and thoroughly enjoyed it. The film is the story of a group of friends who embark on a riotous journey to crash their buddy’s ex-girlfriend’s wedding. The music in the film is exciting and enhances the film’s lively atmosphere. The film features upbeat tracks like ‘Meri Baggi Mera Ghoda’ and ‘Husn Irani,’ which add to the energetic vibe.The film’s message about the importance of friendship and adventure is valuable.
While the friends’ journey is entertaining, it also highlights the significance of embracing life’s chaos and unpredictability.
This could be a one-time watch film recommendation. ‘Wild Wild Punjab’ is a fun, colorful, and heartwarming film that you can enjoy with family but I will not recommend you to watch with family because of the slang language used in the film.
One drawback of the film, in my opinion, after the interval was becoming drag there were some extra scenes.The film can be a little short instead of dragging it.
Anchor and journalist Abdullah Sultan recently appeared as a guest on ‘Masarrat Misbah show.’ Where he discussed how Punjabi parents restrict their children from speaking in their own tongue and how Punjabis do not own their language.
Abdullah said that “Pakhtoon kids speak Pashto while Sindhi kids speak Sindhi with pride and never feel embarrassed about their mother tongue.”
He also said, “Punjabis should take pride in their language, as it is the medium of some of the most beautiful poetry and music. Children should be encouraged to learn and speak their mother tongue, using it to communicate with each other and celebrate their cultural heritage.”

Actor and singer Aagha Ali was recently invited as a guest on Showtime with Ramiz Raja. The host Hina Niazi asked him, “You had received film offers from neighboring countries, which you couldn’t accept.”
Aagha Ali replied, “I was offered a Punjabi film a long time ago, and I was shooting a very good drama at that time. I felt that I had just started to gain momentum, you know, it had only been a year since I gained popularity. So, leaving my country and my work to go do a Punjabi film didn’t seem like a good idea at the time, which is why I declined the offer. But now, I’m sure that if another opportunity arises, I will definitely consider it.”
Today is the second death anniversary of the late Punjabi singer/rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, who was the ‘King of Punjabi music industry’ and ‘Heartthrob of Young Hearts’.
On May 29, 2022, Sidhu Moose Wala was brutally murdered by gunfire in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on May 29, 2022. Over 30 bullets were fired at him.
Lawrence Bishnoi, a renowned mobster, was later identified as the murder’s facilitator. The singer, a political activist who ran for office in the last election from Mansa on a Congress ticket but was unsuccessful, was the target of the attackers’ long-standing anger.
The Indian police have been unable to locate the criminals and prosecute them, even after making many arrests. Today, the family of Sidhu Moose Wala has announced a unique ceremony to honor his memory.
His mother has posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, saying, “We remember you, dear son Sidhu. We will never forget you, and your memory will always be alive in our hearts. This day is written in black ink in history.”
