A video of actor Sanam Jung teaching her daughter religious verses from the Holy Book, Quran is circulating on social media.
In the video, Sanam’s daughter Alaya can be seen reciting the verse recited before eating a meal and Surah Al Ikhlas.
On the work front, Sanam was last seen in Eid Telefilm Hona Tha Pyar opposite Chupke Chupke fame Arslan Naseer.
The Foreign Office on Sunday strongly condemned recent incidents in Sweden and Norway in which copies of the Holy Quran were reportedly burnt, saying that “freedom of speech can’t justify religious hatred”, Dawn reported.
In a statement issued on Twitter, FO spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri further said:
“The rise of such Islamophobic occurrences goes against the spirit of any religion.”
“Ensuring respect for religious beliefs of others is a collective responsibility and is absolutely critical for global peace and prosperity,” Chaudhri added.
A day earlier, a riot broke out in the southern Swedish town of Malmo, where at least 300 people had gathered to protest against anti-Islam activities, police said.
Protesters were throwing objects at police officers and car tyres had been set on fire, a police spokesman said. Earlier in the day, a copy of the Quran had been burned in Malmo by right-wing extremists.
The demonstrations had escalated in the same place where the Quran had been burned, the spokesman added.
Daily Aftonbladet said several anti-Islam activities had taken place in Malmo on Friday, including three men kicking a copy of the Quran between them in a public square.
Meanwhile, at an anti-Islam protest on Saturday in Oslo, Sweden — held by the far-right group Stop the Islamisation of Norway (SION) — a protester tore out pages of the Quran and spat on them, Anadolu Agency reported.
Minister for Religious Affairs, Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has announced that the government is planning to build a Qur’an complex in Islamabad to preserve historical manuscripts of the Muslim scripture.
According to Radio Pakistan, Qadri revealed the government’s plans while talking to the media during his visit to an exhibition of historical manuscripts of Holy Quran in the Federal capital.
The minister also shared that the government is encouraging such activities and is working towards publishing a translation of the Holy Quran acceptable to all school of thoughts.

He added that the publishing of Holy Quran on papers used in printing newspapers has been banned.
A video of Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen fluently reciting a Surah from the Holy Quran has gone viral on social media.
According to details, during an Instagram Live session, a fan requested Sushmita to recite a Surah from the Quran, following which the actor recited Surah Al-Asr. Her daughters, who were also part of the live session, joined her in reciting the verses.

During the session, Sushmita also recalled her visit to Pakistan. When a follower from Multan asked her when she will be visiting the country, the actor replied, “Soon I hope. I really really hope. I’ve been to Karachi three times and each time I have been received with a lot of love. It’s been a long time since I’ve visited.”

Meanwhile, other than the Holy Quran, Sushmita also recited prayers of other religions during the session.
Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Director General (DG) Major General Muhammad Arif Malik has said that courts should be closed if cases “are to be decided through taking oath”, The News reported.
The ANF chief’s statement came as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah, who was granted bail in the drugs trafficking case against him, continues to swear over the Quran that he is innocent and the case is bogus.
The ANF has challenged the bail of the former Punjab law minister Sanaullah before the Supreme Court, filing a petition against the verdict of the Lahore High Court (LHC). It has argued that there was sufficient evidence against Sanaullah for being involved in the drugs case.
The ANF alleged the PML-N leader was carrying around 15 kilograms of heroin with him when he was arrested from Sukheki in July last year. The force asked the court to set aside the verdict of the LHC wherein he was allowed bail.
Later, talking to the reporters, the ANF DG asked if any murderer ever admitted in court or in public that he/she killed a person. He said Rana Sanaullah’s case was being heard by the court and he should provide evidence of his innocence there.
Major General Arif Malik said Rana Sanaullah and Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shaharyar Afridi both took oath and therefore, a draw should be held to figure out who is the culprit.
Responding to a journalist who asked the ANF DG that if he could swear about the veracity of the case, he said courts should be closed if things were to be settled that way.
Norway’s Muslim associations have announced they would distribute 10,000 copies of the Holy Quran with Norwegian translations in an effort to fight racism, hate and extremism.
According to the the Norwegian Muslim Arts and Culture Association reported, it will be a collaboration with the Islam Literature Association and the Minhajul Quran mosque.
“We want to respond to negative actions by spreading love and knowledge as taught by the Holy Quran,” said Muslim Arts and Culture Association in a statement, indicating that the copies would be handed out via the internet.
The decision comes after an extreme right-wing group tried to burn a copy of the holy book during a protest in Kristiansand, a city populated with migrants.
‘Stop the Islamisation of Norway (SION)’ members were prevented from the desecrating by police, however, the group’s leader threw the holy book in the garbage.
Turkey, Pakistan, Iran reacted strongly to the November 16 incident by issuing their formal condemnations.
After receiving reactions from the Muslim community, Norwegian Politician Jøran Kallmyr held a meeting with the Islam Council of Norway and assured them that “Norway has distanced itself from the anti-Islamic organisation and said it does not provide any support to this organisation.”
Kallmyr said that the Norwegian Muslim community’s safety was as important as the Norwegian citizens.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for an end to the conflict in Yemen by quoting from the Holy Quran to urge Muslim countries for peace.
According to RT, the Russian president was speaking in Turkish capital Ankara alongside President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani when he quoted a verse from Surah al-Imran.
“And remember the favour of Allah upon you — when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favour, brothers,” he quoted.
