Eshal Fayyaz hits out at troll for slut-shaming her

Eshal replied to him by saying that it is her social media account and he can unfollow her. She also stated that the dirt is in his mindset and not her post.

Last year, in a rare and candid interview, Fayyaz opened up about being sexually assaulted by her abusive stepfather.

Speaking to Nida Yasir on her Ramzan special show Shaan e Sahoor, Eshal said: “My biological father died when I was 3-4 years old after that my mother got married again.”

“My stepfather tried to rape me multiple times and I decided enough is enough when he attempted for the fourth time. I shared it with my sister and together we told my mother. After that, she divorced him and never got married again.”

The actress also clarified rumours of her alleged marriage with Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar (KRQ).

When Nida asked her about these rumours, Eshal said that she had no idea who spread these rumours.

“When the rumours of my and Khalil-ur-Rehman’s marriage spread, I was so afraid that I locked myself in the room and I was sitting alone, crying in my room,” said Eshal. “My mother explained to me that sitting in fear will not do anything. Go in front of people and explain, after which I faced the public and clarified all the rumours.”

The actor further said that Qamar is like family to her and lashed out at social media for spreading false rumours. Fayyaz further remarked that life was very easy when social media didn’t exist but after its takeover people have become negative and harass others.

Talking about her next project, Eshal said that she is working on her next film Mein Hoon Teri Gulnaz, which will also be produced by KRQ. Qamar and Eshal had earlier also worked together in Kaaf Kangana.

Eshal had appeared on the show with Ismat Zaidi, Javeria Abbasi and Nazish Jahangir.

  • Saheefa Jabbar takes offence at Ramzan transmissions for being problematic

Saheefa Jabbar takes offence at Ramzan transmissions for being problematic

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak has called out Ramzan Transmissions for having problematic content and not following COVID-19 SOPs.

The model-turned-actor, in a series of Instagram stories, said that on one hand, the government and the public are trying their best to follow SOPs, make compromises on their luxurious lifestyle and give up all activities to contain the spread of the virus. But on other, the Ramzan transmissions are allowing large people gathering which will be a serious threat to the life of people.

“COVID is at its peak. Cricket leagues are getting cancelled, countries in the subcontinent are going into lockdown and strict curfews are imposed on peoples everywhere — we are well in the middle of this horrendous and treacherous third wave,” said Saheefa urging everyone to follow SOPs and wear a mask at all times.

Khattak then pointed out how she read somewhere how social distancing was a privilege.

“It means you live in a house large enough to practice it. Hand washing is a privilege too. It means you have access to water. Hand sanitisers are a privilege. It means you have the money to buy them,” she said.

Saheefa also took the opportunity to highlight the problematic content in Ramazan transmissions.

“They do not follow protocols and are filmed on sets where crews as large as 60 to 70 people are not quarantined and don’t operate inside a bio secure environment. This is a blatant breach of government policy and just shows our inherent insensitivity to the situation,” protested Khattak.

“Rather, they seem hellbent on ridiculing and insulting human beings in the name of entertainment and profit. It’s crass, rude, and has zero respect for human dignity. I’m sorry but this frustrates me a lot!” she added.

Khattak also presented a solution to the problem, suggesting that the airtime can be used to “spread awareness about COVID and enforce message sent out by the government.”

“There was no better time to do it in Ramazan, but no, how would people win a Corolla then?” she sighed, reminding people to take the pandemic seriously.

“Spend Eid while practicing social distancing, recognise your privilege and try to see through the lies we consume through the magic box!” concluded Saheefa.

  • Danyal Zafar shares favourite scene from ‘Tanaa Banaa’

Danyal Zafar has shared one of his favourite scenes from his ongoing Ramzan special drama Taana Baana.

The scene which shows Danyal and Alizeh on the beach was “coincidently” also the last scene they shot together.

“One of my favourite scenes between Zain and Zoya, which coincidentally [also] happened to be the last scene we shot for the drama,” wrote Danyal. “It was a wrap right after this.”

“When I read in the script that Zain sings for Zoya, I asked Saife Hasan [director] bhai, if I could sing a few lines of the OST, which would kinda break the fourth wall, but could also serve to be the icing on the cake, since it’s been their song and could elevate the ‘romance’ between Zain and Zoya,” he added.

“In the entirety of the scene, I realised Saife bhai didn’t say anything to us, he was smiling throughout while looking at the monitor; a moment I felt kinda proud of myself because for me that indicated we were doing it right,” continued Zafar, adding: “Or at least well enough to strum a few chords in everyone’s hearts, because everyone was just smiling.”

Zafar also gave a shot out to his co-actor Alizeh Shah for doing a “phenomenal job”.

While Taana Baana appears to be a typical romantic comedy, when you start watching it you are immediately pulled into it due to a variety of reasons ranging from the script to the cast and their performances.

Featuring Zafar (Zain), Alizeh (Zoya), Javeria Abbasi (Fozia), Aamir Qureshi (Zain’s Father), Ismat Zaidi (Zain’s Dadi ), Komal Rizvi (Zebunnisa) and Hassan Noman(Shahid, Zebnunnisa’s husband), Taana Baana revolves around the newly married couple of Zain and Zoya and the challenges they face.
