    Prime Minister’s Advisor for Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, made a witty jab at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after some party leaders suggested that incarcerated party founder Imran Khan would be released once newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump takes office.

    Rana Sanaullah, speaking on the 365 News ‘HEAD ON’ talk show, said that “it’s better for the party to make peace with the government”’ if they are relying on the U.S. for the release of Khan.

    PM Advisor also asserted that there would be “no direct dealing” between PTI and the establishment.

    “PTI has only one way of dealing, and that is through parliament, political parties, and political leadership,” he said, adding, “The sooner PTI understands this, the better it will be for the party and the country’s politics.”

    When asked about PTI’s recent attempts to hold direct talks with the establishment, Rana Sanaullah said that ISPR clarified in a press conference on May 8 that dialogue could only be done through political parties.

    Earlier, PTI’s spokesperson, Raoof Hassan, declared that the party wanted to engage in negotiations with the establishment and political parties through direct negotiations.

    “It has been PTI’s policy that we want to engage with the establishment, and I will go a step ahead to say that dialogue between my party and the establishment is inevitable for this state, and we must not delay this,” Hassan claimed in October during an interview on a private news channel.

    Prime Minister Advisor for Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has confirmed that the government held informal talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over the proposed constitutional amendments draft.

    Appearing on the Geo News programme ‘Geo Pakistan’, the PM’s Advisor remarked that the PTI leadership also envisaged that amendments would bring better results.

    He said, “The agreed amendments can be approved in the first week of October,” while the rest will be passed after securing a one-third majority in parliament.

    Responding to the formation of the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC), Sanaullah said, “Apex court judges are disturbed” by the number of pending cases. FCC will hear cases regarding constitutional petitions,” which would significantly elevate the judiciary’s burden.

    Meanwhile, Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur said that approval of proposed amendments is a far distinct thing; they (the government) wouldn’t even dare to present it in parliament.

    He said, “These amendments are an attack on Pakistan’s democracy, and PTI won’t let them win.”

    Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday attended the “Change the Game!” Ministerial Forum at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, where he addressed a gathering of Pakistanis saying, “There was a fight between the establishment and Imran Khan over his demand to hang the opposition.”

    According to the advisor, this was the main reason why friction started between the establishment and former Prime Minister Imran Khan because the establishment did not want to go that far.

    Sanaullah said, “Khan’s thinking is not democratic; it is dictatorial and riotous.”

    He also remarked that when PTI, under the leadership of Imran Khan, first came into power, Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal offered to work together, but Khan “wanted to put them all in jail.”

    PML-N’s senior leader also opined that the no-confidence motion brought against Khan in 2022 was unconstitutional.

    He also urged the Pakistanis abroad to help the country in dealing with “digital terrorism.”

    Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah has said on Tuesday that the federal government has a plan to file new cases against incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan to delay his release from Adiala jail.

    Imran Khan was ousted from his office in April 2022 through the opposition’s no-confidence motion and is currently in Adiala jail facing multiple cases.

    Former Prime Minister Imran Khan will stay behind bars in the iddat case even after getting relief in £190 million reference and Toshakhana.

    “Imran Khan’s main agenda is to destabilise the country and spread chaos and anarchy in the country that’s why the government will certainly try to keep him behind bars as long as possible,” Rana Sanaullah said while talking on Geo News programme’ Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’.

    He also stated that the government will file new cases against Khan to keep him in jail for a long time as courts have granted relief to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder in several cases.

    Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Rana Sanaullah has stated that Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur considers himself a “Tees Mar Khan but he fires only empty shots.”

    Talking to the media in Lahore, Prime Minister’s advisor Rana Sanaullah said that if it (PTI) wants to talk to the establishment or the establishment wants to talk to them, then absolutely do it.

    The PML-N stalwart said that when the establishment did not support Imran, he said that it is Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq. “Their dispute is that the establishment should interfere in politics and the system of the country,” he opined.

    Talking about the founder PTI, the leader of Muslim League-N said that Imran Khan is getting everything in jail.

    PM Shehbaz resigns as party president, paving way for Nawaz

    Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has resigned as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president, Geo News reported on Monday.

    The development comes after president PML-N Punjab chapter Rana Sanaullah announced that party supremo Nawaz Sharif will lead the party.

    PML-N’s central committee will meet on May 18 in Lahore at 11:30am.

    PML-N secretary general Ahsan Iqbal sent notices to the central committee about the meeting under Article 15 of the party constitution.

    Nawaz Sharif stepped down as prime minister in 2017 when the Supreme Court (SC) disqualified him for life for not declaring his receivable salary.

    The apex court also disqualified Nawaz Sharif in 2018 as PML-N president in the Panama Papers case.

    The top court said in its verdict that a person can’t lead a political party who is disqualified under Articles 62 and 63.

    On January 8, 2024, the top court abolished bans on people with criminal charges from taking part in polls.

    Grand dialogue needed to solve country’s problems, says Rana Sanaullah

    Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah said on Sunday that PML-N is committed to solving all political issues through dialogue, adding that the party is prepared for a comprehensive discussion with all political leaders, Express Tribune reported.

    The PML-N leader also said that we need a thorough discussion with all political parties to create a good and productive political environment for the progress of the country.

    “Unconditional talks were the only way to move forward and address critical challenges,”  he said.

    The Prime Minister’s adviser on political and public affairs maintained that the federal government is trying to convince the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to join the federal cabinet.

    “In my personal assessment, the PPP will join the cabinet,” Rana Sana added.

    Responding to a question, Sanaullah stated that Nawaz Sharif was likely be elected as the president of the party in the upcoming general council meeting, scheduled for May 28.

    Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab President Rana Sanaullah as his adviser on political and public affairs.

    The President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of Sanaullah as the PM’s advisor.

    Rana Sanaullah served as the interior minister during the previous government but lost his seat in the general elections 2024 in the National Assembly (NA-100) constituency in Faisalabad.

    Sanaullah’s appointment came just after a day Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was given the additional role of Deputy Prime Minister.

    Sanaullah had recently hinted at the possibility of him taking a role in the federal government, stating that Nawaz Sharif would decide the matter after coming back from his China visit.

    Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) made another important decision after making Ishaq Dar the deputy prime minister of the country.

    Sources have told Samaa that PML-N leader and former federal minister Rana Sanaullah is likely to be given an important role. The government may appoint him as interior advisor, the sources claimed.

    The senior leadership of PML-N wants to see Rana Sanaullah in the interior ministry, and this responsibility will be given to Rana Sanaullah after the approval of former prime minister and PML-N head Nawaz Sharif. 

    The inclusion of Rana Sanaullah in the federal cabinet may also lead to a shuffle in the ministries. 

    Earlier, two days ago, the prime minister of the country, Shehbaz Sharif, appointed Ishaq Dar as the deputy prime minister of Pakistan.

    Ishaq Dar currently has two designations, as he is also the foreign minister of the country.

    Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah has urged significant political figures in the country to talk to each other, stressing that “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan should also communicate with the establishment.”

    Speaking on Samaa TV’s show ‘adeem Malik Live’, he said that the current political situation unfolded because of May 9 riots. “Imran Khan is the cause of political instability in the country and he should accept this.”

    The PML-N leader urged political parties and party leaders to give space to each other for open dialogue, as it is essential to understand the political environment.
    When questioned about the possibility of direct contact between Imran Khan and the establishment, Sanaullah maintained that the “modality of communication would be determined by the involved parties.”
    He asserted while addressing concerns about interference in March 2021 Senate polls that “There is no evidence of establishment intervention.”
