Haider has decided to take legal action against the music directors of ‘Piya Re Piya’.

While talking to Dawn Images, he said, “They’ve copied the entire verse. I’m going to look into how to pursue this further because these people have started copying [Pakistani content] a lot. They not only copy melodies, they copy lyrics as well. Look at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s work. They’ve gone too far; they are copying our content whenever they please and there’s no one to say anything to them. I definitely feel something should be done about this.

“I am going to talk to my lawyer. I am going to talk to people who can help me with this. I don’t think I should take it lightly. If you look at the credits, the composer of the song is written as Rashid Khan. This is a criminal act. They don’t even give due credit. If you’d framed the song as a cover and given credit, it would still be okay.”

Pia Re Piya released on February 12 and is sung by Yaseer Desai and composed by Rashid Khan. Anjan Sagri and Rashid Khan have written the lyrics of the song.

‘Pointless’: Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis slam match-fixing ‘conspiracy theories’ after India beats Afghanistan

Former Pakistan captains Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram were critical of suggestions on social media of match-fixing during the India-Afghanistan clash. The pace bowling duo dismissed the claims as ‘conspiracy theories’.

After two back-to-back defeats, India finally registered a victory in the T20 World Cup with a comprehensive 66-run win over Afghanistan. However, while most of the cricketing fraternity praised India’s dominant performance, some users on social media started a viral trend alleging the match was fixed and India ‘paid’ well.

Reacting to the trends, Akram said on A Sports, “I don’t know why we like to create such conspiracy theories? India are a very good team. They just had couple of bad days at the start of the tournament.”

Waqar echoed the sentiment saying, “It’s a pointless thing to say and people should not give it much attention.”

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India scored 210 for two in their must-win Super 12 game. This is so far the highest score of this World Cup and the only time a team crossed the 200-run mark in what has been a low-scoring tournament.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) Australian captain Warner and New Zealand batsman Williamson kept a fast alongside Afghan team-mates Rashid, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman to observe the holy month of Ramzan.

In a video shared by Rashid on his Instagram, he can be seen interacting with Williamson and Warner at what seems to be a restaurant where the cricketers may have gathered to break their fast.

“Two legends were fasting with us today,” Rashid had captioned the Instagram Story.

The 22-year-old can be heard asking Warner and Williamson about their fasting experience.

“David, how is your fasting today?” Rashid Khan asked Warner in the video.

“Good, but I am very thirsty and very hungry today. My mouth is so dry,” said Warner in response.

Khan then turned the phone camera towards Williamson and asked him the same question.

“Very good, thanks,” said Williamson, flashing a thumbs-up.

“These two legends are observing the fast today. It is a pleasure to have them at the table,” said Rashid.

The video went viral on social media and people couldn’t stop praising the two for expressing solidarity with their Muslim teammates.

Sharing the video on Twitter, a former cricketer and journalist Isabelle Westbury revealed that Warner also celebrates Eid with his Australian teammate Fawad Ahmed.

Westbury said that Ahmed “always cites him as a particularly understanding mate regarding cultural differences.”

  • ‘Anushka Sharma is Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan’s wife,’ Google says

Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan was mistakenly referred to as Bollywood star Anushka Sharma’s husband on a Google search that has left fans in fits.

Social media surely had a field day after the little gaffe on the search engine that seemingly stems from the cricket champ’s crush on her and Preity Zinta.

As per a few media reports, Rashid was recently asked in an interview to name his favourite woman actors. Rashid said he loved to watch Anushka and Preity. That is all his fans needed to ship Rashid and Anushka.

The many mentions all over the internet might have caused the Google search engine to goof up the same way United States (US) President Donald Trump’s pictures show up if one searches for “idiot”.

The B-Town diva is actually married to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, and the two are also expecting their first child together.

Anushka also attended Saturday’s Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings match of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL). She even blew Virat a kiss from the visitors’ area, which caught everyone’s attention. Virat, who scored an unbeaten 90 in the match, even gestured towards his wife after his half-century.

Rashid, on the other hand, says he will “get engaged and married once Afghanistan wins the cricket World Cup”.
