Posting a video on Instagram, she also shared the history of this Mosque and wrote: “The world-famous Hagia Sophia mosque ( Which has converted into museum also in Istanbul. A world Heritage site, was originally built as a cathedral around 1,500 years ago by the Bazantine Empire.”

“A little lesson in history for those who may not be aware. The world-famous Hagia Sophia museum in Istanbul, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, was originally built as a cathedral around 1500 years ago by the Byzantine empire. The architectural marvel was converted into a mosque after the Ottoman conquest in 1453. In 1934, it became a museum,” he added.

“Only in July last year, it became a mosque again and opened for prayer and worship,” he wrote.

Earlier this year, a Turkish delegation comprising Diriliş: Ertuğrul executive producer Tekdin and actor Celal visited Pakistan where they met Prime Minister Imran Khan, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz, Shehryar Afridi, Humayun and Adnan. It was reported that the two countries are working together on a joint production to strengthen ties and people-to-people contact. This tour of Pakistani celebrities to Turkey depicts that something very interesting is coming our way.

Yasir Hussain likens Turkish dramas to ‘landay k kapray’

The debate around the airing of Diriliş: Ertuğrul doesn’t seem to end.

After Shaan and Reema, Yasir Hussain has also come forward and urged PTV to make a historic drama using those artists and technicians who pay taxes to the country.

Landy k kapray aur Turkey k dramay, dono hee local industry ko tabah kardein gay,” wrote the actor.

It appears that actor received criticism for his comments because, in a successive Instagram story, Hussain said that when someone’s father or brother lose their jobs to Turkish people, only then will they understand what he is saying.

Meanwhile there are some actors who have praised the series.

Turkish historic drama series Diriliş: Ertuğrul has been trending ever since its first episode aired on PTV Home. Pakistanis are loving the drama series and it has become a sensation in the country to the point that PTV is now aiming to set a new record with the series.

In an exclusive interview with The Current, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed Khan revealed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had gifted the drama series to Pakistan as a goodwill gesture.

While Pakistanis enjoy the Turkish series in Urdu on their TV screens, Reema has voiced her criticism against the government’s decision to air the drama on PTV. The actor supported her colleague Shaan’s comments and said that the Turkish series should not be aired on “our national channel”. While speaking on her Ramzan transmission, the actor said, “Our artists have raised their voice [against its airing]. Why is foreign content being aired on national television?”

“When you have plenty of local content and your artists are sitting at home, why is there a need to spend money and promote foreign content,” questioned Reema, adding, “It really hurts us. Because we’re the one paying taxes, not foreign artists.”

Shaan nay haq ki awaaz uthayi hai.”

Reema’s guests Madiha Maqvi and Faisal Subzwari agreed with her comments and said that the government should promote local artists.

  • The weekend of fashion fails

    The weekend of fashion fails

While the rest of us were glued to our TV screens to catch the last episode of Meray Paas Tum Ho, our celebrities were attending the Hum Style Awards in Karachi. The same weekend the Grammys took place in Los Angeles which means that there were a lot of red carpet looks to debate over. However, there was little to no ‘fashion inspo’ considering that our stars did not exactly put forward their best fashion fronts.

Here is the fashion rundown from the past weekend.

    Nay – Momina Mustehsan

Red seems to be Momina’s favourite colour. Either her hair is red or her outfit is – and in this case the amount of red in this outfit is a bit too much. Plus her hairstyle is just too basic and her makeup typical. Considering it was the Hum Style Awards, the singer could have experimented with her look.

    Yay – Ayesha Omar

Ayesha Omar is the ultimate style icon and here’s proof in case you needed it. Ayesha looks absolutely glam in this outfit by Elan.

    Nay – Mansha Pasha

From the stockings to that embroidery to that boring hairstyle, Mansha’s look failed to hit the mark.

    Yay – Mahnoor Baloch

Mahnoor Baloch can make anything look good.

    Nay – Ghana Ali

First of all, what is that design? And secondly, what is that fitting?

Also can we take a moment to discuss how bad the background wall. Totally takes the attention away from the person.

    Nay – Rubya Chaudhry

    No words.

    Yay – Reema

The evergreen Reema can give the younger lot a run for their money with her sophistication.

    Nay – Sana Fakhar

The hair, the makeup, the dress, the yello Chanel clutch – so many things wrong with this look.

Now that we’re done dissecting the Hum Style Awards celebrity looks, onto the Grammys now.

    Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka has been trolled enough for that look, so we’re not going to say more.

    Cardi B

Uhm, from that purple eyeshadow to the hairstyle, what was Cardi B was thinking?

    Camila Cabello

This outfit is a mess and not a hot one.
