    Case filed against organisers for partying at tourist destination Hunza

    A case has been filed against the people who organised a music and dance event in Hunza’s Gojal for spreading obscenity, reports Samaa.

    The organisers were berated after videos and pictures of the event went viral.

    A youth organisation had filed a complaint against the organisers at the Gulmit police station on June 16. The complainants said that the event was held in Passu from June 12 to June 15. People from across the country attended it.

    They said that tourists used drugs during the event, adding that some women were seen in “inappropriate” clothes and that is against the traditions and norms of Hunza. The event organisers disrespected the culture of the region.

    A case has been registered against Farhan Bhatti and his friends under section 294 (obscene acts and songs) of the Pakistan Penal Code. Those convicted under the law can be sentenced to jail for a maximum of one year and carries a fine of Rs100,000.

    Following the controversial event, the district administration has decided to ban all music and cultural programmes in Hunza.

    Gilgit-Baltistan Tourism Minister Raja Nasir Ali Khan said that the government wants to bring more tourists to the region and promote its tourist industry.

    “We will provide them all kinds of assistance but tourists must respect the culture and traditions of the region.”

    Prior to this, a Canadian traveller Rosie Gabrielle, who has been exploring the northern areas of Pakistan, took to social media to call out the local tourists for ‘destroying Hunza’s beauty’ and ‘spreading vulgarity’ in the area.

    Canadian traveller Rosie Gabrielle, who has been exploring the northern areas of Pakistan, took to social media to call out the local tourists for ‘destroying Hunza’s beauty’ and ‘spreading vulgarity’ in the area.

    Rosie shared a post, ‘Keep The North Pure’ with the pictures of the pollution caused by the local tourists, a collage of an event and a few screenshots of her conversation with distressed residents.

    Sharing a detailed post, she wrote, “Since covid happened & travelling outside the country has decreased, there’s been an influx of people flocking north.”

    “But instead of bringing just their smiles & leaving only good memories, they are bringing bad behaviours, drugs, vulgarity, rave parties & leaving a lot of TRASH!,” she added.

    She further wrote, “I understand that people need to express themselves, release pent up energies & get out of their suffocating lives. But coming to a sacred land, feeling privileged & entitled to destroy it, bringing your toxic habits to innocent communities is NOT okay!”

    Sharing that some locals reached out to her with their concerns, she stated, “I received countless msg’s from local Hunza people, PLEADING me to help stop this carnage. They are losing their traditional values, indigenous cultures & land. Because this world is not ours to destroy. These lands & cultures are not yours to abuse.”

    She ended her post by saying, “The north is PURE, PLEASE KEEP IT THAT WAY ?? or STAY HOME!”

    ‘Pakistan, My Home’: Canadian vlogger Rosie Gabrielle expresses love for Pakistan

    Canadian vlogger Rosie Gabrielle has shared a special note on the occasion of Pakistan Resolution Day to express her love for her new “home”.

    In a detailed note posted on Instagram, Gabrielle, who earlier converted to Islam said: “Two and a half years ago, I left my home in Canada to embark on a journey of a lifetime. Little did I know then, my trip across Pakistan would forever change me in so many ways.”

    “I didn’t choose to come here, Pakistan chose me,” said Gabrielle, adding: “In 2018, I surrendered to the universe and said ‘Okay God, it’s up to you, where am I going next?’”

    The vlogger then shared that a few days later she got an invitation to visit Pakistan for a short media tour.

    “I’m not much of a ‘Group Traveller’ but took this as a divine invitation for something bigger and made my own trip after,” said Gabrielle. “I had always wanted to explore Pakistan so I gladly accepted. I didn’t know then that this trip would change my life.”

    “All I knew is, I wanted to travel the entire country by bike and document my experiences. I didn’t know at that time if it was even logistically possible, or know much about the country,” said Rosie.

    The vlogger further said that she knew she could “forever make a positive impact for Pakistan by showing the true hearts of the people and land here.”

    “It was my destiny and my calling. I didn’t know how I would, I just knew I would and the will of my heart lead the way,” she shared. “For over two years now I have dedicated my heart, soul and all my energy to promoting peace and a positive change for this nation.”

    Rosie, in her note, also talked about Adeel Amer, a Pakistani travel vlogger, who she recently got married to. The couple tied the knot earlier this month.

    “I not only fell in love with the land [but also] the people. I’m humbly grateful every day for meeting the love of my life Adeel Amer, the most inspiring (this word does not do justice) human I know and finally able to call this beautiful country my HOME,” said Gabrielle.

    Canadian vlogger Rosie Gabrielle, who converted to Islam in January last year has tied the knot with Pakistani travel vlogger Adeel Amer.

    Gabrielle announced the news on social media with a picture of the two.

    “I’m married,” wrote Gabrielle in the caption. “Never would I [have] thought that I would come to Pakistan and fall in love. Not only with a country and it’s people, but one very special individual in particular.”

    ‘My whole life I searched for him. My soul mate, my companion, my best friend,” she added.

    The Canadian vlogger further said “Before I came to Pakistan, I surrendered my need to find someone. I made a pact with God, that if I had to spend the rest of my life living for only Him, and loving myself, without needing someone to “complete me”, so be it. I finally knew deep down that I’m ENOUGH. And I didn’t need anyone to make me whole.”

    “It’s a funny thing surrender; the moment you do, you are gifted 10 times over. Divine says, give up your desire for your needs, for what I have in store for you, is much Greater. And it was true!”

    “Not only did I find my soul partner, I also found my best friend. The one who I will cherish and continue to love more deeply every day. Someone whom I can share every detail of my life with without guilt or judgment, who challenges me, who continuously pushes me to be a better person. The one who loves me unconditionally and has patience and compassionate grace for my journey. The man who lights up my life and inspires me every single day with his love and actions. Someone who compliments me perfectly.”

    “Our love was written in the stars. There was a subtle familiarity and connection I had never felt and more, it’s as if we had lived a thousand lifetimes before. In the most unsuspected place I found, a love so rare, so profound. God gifted me you and you to me, to reflect back His Divinity.”

    “To truly find our life’s sacred calling, our souls emerge hearts exalting My bestest friend, companion, motivator, inspiration, my heart my soul, my LOVE My husband Adeel Amer,” she concluded.

    Earlier, the Canadian traveller had opened up on her journey towards Islam and shared how Pakistan had played its part.

    Canadian traveller Rosie Gabrielle converts to Islam after Pakistan visit

    Canadian traveller Rosie Gabrielle has converted to Islam after visiting Pakistan. The traveller took to social media to make the announcement and share the reasons behind the decision.

    Rosie wrote that last year was one of the hardest one of her life, and the challenges she faced the previous year led her to this point.

    “From a young child, I’ve always had a unique connection with creation and special relationship to God. My path was far from easy and I carried a lot of anger in my heart from a lifetime of pain, always begging God, why me? Until ultimately coming to the conclusion that all is meant to be, and even my suffering is a gift,” she wrote.

    Rosie also shared that though she had called it quits with Christianity four years ago, she continued to tread upon the path of self-discovery and “never let go the sight of the Creator.” 

    “Never resonating with what I was brought up with, I denounced my religion 4 years ago, going down a deep path of spiritual discovery. Exploration of self, and the great Divine. I never let go the sight of the Creator, in fact, my curiosity and connection only grew stronger. Now no longer dictated by fear, I was able to fully explore this righteous path,” she elaborated.

    She then wrote how Pakistan played its part. “The universe brought me to Pakistan, not only to challenge myself to let go of the last remaining traces of pain and ego, but also to show me the way.”

    “Through kindness and humbled grace of the people I met along my pilgrimage, inspired my heart to seek further. Living in a Muslim country for 10 + years and traveling extensively through these regions, I observed one thing: peace. A kind of peace that one can only dream of having in their hearts.”

    Rosie also highlighted Islamophobia in her post.

    “The true meaning of Islam, is peace, love and oneness,” she asserted, adding “It’s not a religion, but a way of life. The life of humanity, humility and love.”
