Former Indian star batsman Sachin Tendulkar’s VIP security guard Parkash allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself.
According to Indian media, 39-year-old Prakash shot himself in the neck with his official gun. He was on vacation when he committed suicide, leaving behind parents, a wife and two young children.
Senior Police Inspector Kiran Shinde of the local police station said that the incident took place around 1:30 pm today. Investigations are on to find out the reasons behind the alleged suicide.

Social media erupted with calls for boycott of Maldives tours after Maldivian politician Zahid Rameez made objectionable remarks regarding Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep.
The incident led to the trending of the hashtag #BoycottMaldives on X in India.
The controversy unfolded when Rameez, a member of the Progressive Party, responded to a claim suggesting that PM Modi’s visit was a setback for the Maldives and would boost tourism in Lakshadweep.
Rameez mocked Indians, stating that competing with the Maldives for tourism was “delusional.” He questioned how India could match the level of service and cleanliness offered by the island nation, adding that the permanent smell in Indian rooms would be a significant drawback.
Rameez’s remarks ignited a heated exchange on the microblogging site, with many users sharply criticizing him.
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Youth Empowerment Maldives, Abdulla Mahzoom Majid, also criticised Modi and said, “While I wish success for India’s tourism, targeting the Maldives so explicitly isn’t diplomatic. India faces significant challenges competing in beach tourism, considering our resort infrastructure exceeds their total islands. Plus this is your culture @narendramodi.”
Subsequently, the hashtag #BoycottMaldives gained traction on social media, with influencers joining the call for a boycott.
Adding fuel to the fire, Maldivian minister Mariyam Shiuna also made derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a now-deleted post, further fueling the outrage.
Former President Nasheed urged the Maldivian government to distance itself from the offensive comments made by Shiuna and provide clear assurance to India that they do not reflect official government policy.

As the controversy continues to unfold, diplomatic relations between India and the Maldives face a test, with the tourism industry caught in the crossfire of political tensions.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to the hybrid model for Asia Cup 2023. Now, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), in a meeting with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and other cricketing boards, has approved the model with slight amendments.
Asia Cup 2023 is all set to be played with PCB’s hybrid model, while Pakistan retains the hosting rights.
The PCB favors the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the neutral venue, considering it a smart and effective revenue gateway for Pakistan. However, other boards, including the Indian Cricket Board, argued for an alternative venue. Consequently, the ACC has finalized Sri Lanka as the neutral venue for the tournament. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will now co-host the Asia Cup 2023.
According to the proposed hybrid model, the first four or five matches will be played in Pakistan, with the remainder of the tournament moving to Sri Lanka, where India will have the opportunity to play their group matches.
The PCB had been ready to show flexibility over a tit-for-tat stance for the World Cup had the Indian board rejected the hybrid model. The former had also expected the Pakistan government to grant approval for the country’s team to travel to India for the 50-over showpiece “much easily” if the proposed model was accepted.
It is, therefore, understood that Pakistan will feature in India for the first time since 2016. Whether they take on the hosts, their arch-rivals, in Ahmedabad as proposed in a draft schedule sent by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to the boards of the participating sides is also to be decided by the country’s government.
As per media reports, the PCB, having received the draft schedule as well, has started it’s consultations with the government over the fixture list and a decision is expected to be made in the coming week.
That would also mean that the official schedule of the World Cup will be released just over three months ahead of the first game of the tournament on October 5.
According to the draft schedule, Pakistan will kick off their campaign on October 6 against one of the teams coming through from the preceding qualifying round in Hyderabad before taking on another qualifier at the same venue on October 12.
The Babar Azam-led unit is scheduled to fly out to Ahmedabad for the high-octane clash against India on October 15 before playing Australia five days later in Bengaluru and Afghanistan and South Africa in Chennai on October 23 and 27.
After locking horns with Bangladesh in Kolkata four days later, Pakistan will return to Bengaluru for their match against New Zealand on November 5 before concluding the league stage with their fixture against England in Kolkata on November 12.
The dates and venues for the tournament’s semi-finals and final have not been included in the draft schedule

Indian veteran cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has extended his wishes to Inzaman-ul-Huq, who has had a heart attack on Monday.

As per reports, the 51-year-old cricketer had been complaining about chest pain over the last three days. After tests, it was revealed he had suffered a heart attack and needed immediate surgery.
The former cricketer has been discharged from the hospital after a successful angioplasty.
Record-breaking Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar has opened up about the time when a delivery by Shoaib Akhtar gave him a broken rib.
Speaking during a session on Unacademy, Tendulkar recalled that the injury happened during Pakistan’s India tour of 2007.
“I got hit in my rib cage in 2007,” shared Tendulkar. “We were playing Pakistan in India and in the first over itself I got hit in the rib cage off a Shoaib Akhtar ball. It was quite painful. For a month and a half or two months, I was not able to cough or sleep on my tummy.”
Interestingly, the cricketer continued to play despite considerable pain as he had no idea that he had fractured his rib.
“I continued playing like that and had designed my own chest guard. I played the remaining four ODIs and the Test series. Before going to Australia as well, I played whatever cricket there was,” said Sachin.
After hosting Pakistan for three Tests and a five-match ODI series in 2007, India then toured Australia for four Tests and VB tri-series also featuring Sri Lanka. Tendulkar was part of both the tours.
In Australia, he suffered a groin injury following which he underwent a full-body scan after returning home. It was then the doctor told Tendulkar he may also have a broken rib.
“When I went to Australia, I played the whole series – we played the VB series and towards the end of it, I had a groin injury. I came back to India and we did a full body scan. At that time, it was the doctor who told me about it,” Tendulkar recalled.
“I did not ask him about my rib, I was worried about my groin injury because the Indian Premier League (IPL) was going to start. But I couldn’t get fit in time and missed the first seven matches. But the doctor told me that there was a hotspot. You must have broken your rib at some stage. It troubled me for two months,” he added.
Meanwhile, the former captain of the Indian cricket team also revealed that he struggled with anxiety for much of his career, often suffering sleepless nights before a game.
The ‘Little Master,’ who accumulated more Test and one-day runs than any other player, said he would shadow bat, watch TV and play video games in the small hours when he was unable to sleep.
“In my mind the match started long before I entered the ground. The anxiety levels were very high,” said Tendulkar.
“I felt anxiety for 10 to 12 years, and had many sleepless nights before a game. Later on I started accepting that it was part of my preparation.
“Then I made peace with the times I was not able to sleep at night. I would start doing something to keep my mind comfortable.” Mental health has become a key consideration among athletes, including cricketers and especially during the pandemic when many are spending long periods in bio-secure “bubbles”.
Tendulkar, who played 200 Tests and 463 ODIs during a 24-year international career, said it was vital to accept first that there is a problem.
“When there is an injury, physios and doctors examine you and diagnose what is wrong with you. Same is the case with mental health,” he said.
“It is normal for anyone to go through ups and downs and when you hit those lows you need people around.
“Acceptability is the key here. Not just for the player, for people around him also. Once you have accepted you start looking for solutions. “

Sachin shared that he was hospitalised on Friday, April 2 as a precautionary measure after being diagnosed with COVID-19. He had previously been isolating at home, but medical professionals advised him to get admitted into a hospital.
