Sindh extends market timings for Eid-ul-Adha after Punjab

The government of Sindh on Sunday decided to revoke the notice it had issued regarding time limits for markets due to Eid-ul-Adha, following the relaxation of restrictions in Punjab.

The province’s home department reportedly sent out a notice saying that the limitation will resume on July 11.

In order to conserve electricity as the country was experiencing frequent power outages, the Government of Sindh earlier in June ordered all marketplaces in the province to close at 9 pm.

The limitation was supposed to last until July 16, but as Eid-ul-Adha is quickly approaching, the regional government has decided to temporarily relax the ban. The letter states that it was decided to suspend the closure orders for the benefit of locals.

Islamabad and Punjab had also let marketplaces stay open until late the day before to help the business community and those who were buying for Eid.

Here’s how to build your new laptop without going to a shop

As online purchasing and selling have evolved, you can now choose and order a laptop from a number of Pakistani websites without going to the market in person.

Some of the most popular websites for online shopping include Daraz, laptopmart.pk, myshop.pk, mrlaptop.pk, telemart.pk and OLX.

There is a distinct and significantly more effective website that delivers much more than just selling factory goods. The laptop shopping website paklap.pk offers a variety of brands from which you can choose one of your preferred models. Whatever brand or model you’re looking for, Paklap has it, from boxy Lenovo Thinkpads to sleek Apple MacBooks.

The platform’s most intriguing feature is that it even lets you select your preferred RAM, HDD storage, and SSD storage and provides a precise cost estimate for the laptop after your chosen upgrades. In addition to laptops, the website lists a wide range of computer accessories and numerous gadgets for online shoppers at affordable prices.

Building your new laptop and obtaining an exact price quote while you’re still in bed seems like a brilliant idea, particularly for those who lack the time to go to the market, haggle, and inquire about the cost of each upgrade.

Despite the minimal effort, you should still confirm or check the market prices of each item you intend to purchase.

  • DG Khan Cement to export 50,000 tonnes of cement to the United States

DG Khan Cement to export 50,000 tonnes of cement to the United States

Following long and complex certification processes, D.G. Khan Cement Company Limited (DGKCL), one of Pakistan’s largest cement producers, is set to export 50,000 tonnes of the building material to the sophisticated US market.

This is a positive development for Pakistan, which is struggling to boost exports in the face of a burgeoning trade deficit that has steered the rupee to historic depths. The process took almost ten months for the renowned industrial group to complete the necessary certifications for delivering cement to US markets after winning the contract. TXDOT, LDOT, NCDOT, and SCDOT are among the certifications available.

According to Brecorder, the company’s CFO, Inayat Ullah Niazi, stated that a ship was currently loading cement at a port in Karachi for delivery to Houston.

It was not easy for the company to meet the contract for a monthly supply of 100,000 tonnes of cement to Texas. In August of last year, DG Khan Cement signed a contract with a US company for the year 2021.

Since the United States lacks cement production, it imports it from Mexico, Canada, and Turkey.

Finally. a Pakistani cement supplier has entered the US market for the first time, as demand for the construction material has risen dramatically, with buyers looking for other options in the wake of President Joe Biden’s $6 trillion infrastructure package.

All of the mega infrastructure in the United States, including roads, bridges, and other structures, would be rebuilt as they were nearly a century ago under the announced package.

Pakistan exported 4.971 million tonnes cement in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year (July-May), a negative growth of 43.32 per cent, according to export data. Cement exports to Afghanistan were only 813,493 tonnes during this time, a negative 65.04 per cent increase.

With only 1.478 million tonnes exported, exports to other countries experienced negative growth of 27.2 per cent.

As per industry insiders, after DG Khan Cement began discovering the US market for cement exports, other larger players began the certification process for their goods.

According to the latest figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country’s exports declined by 10.22 per cent on a monthly basis in May 2022, falling to $2.6 billion from $2.897 billion in April 2022.

D.G. Khan Cement, one of Pakistan’s largest cement producers, earned Rs4.1 billion in the nine-month period ending March 31, 2022, a 26 per cent increase in profit. In the same period of 2020-21, the company made Rs3.25 billion in profits.

It is worth noting that the business also received orders for cement export to the Philippines back in 2020.

With a nearly 50 per cent (Rs300 per bag) increase in the last 12 months, more price increases would be required to offset the coal cost impact.

  • Honda Atlas to increase prices for all motorcycles from April 1

Atlas Honda is set to announce another price hike within a month for all of its motorcycles. The manufacturer will increase the prices from Rs2,000 to Rs10,000 for seven variants.

As per two prominent Atlas Honda motorcycle dealerships in Lahore: Honda Gulberg and Honda Hamiz Bedian, the Association of Pakistan Motorcycle Assemblers (APMA) have already notified all Honda dealerships across Pakistan of the revised prices.

The imminent price hike is due to the rising cost of raw materials used in production as well as the continuous depreciation of the Pakistani rupee.

According to the dealerships, the popular Honda CD70 and CD70 Dream variants will see a price hike of Rs2000 which will be sold at Rs99,900 and Rs106,500 respectively from April 1.

Honda Pridor will be priced at Rs136,900 after an increase of Rs3000 in its existing price of Rs133,900.

The manager at Honda Gulberg stated that the company will release a formal notification on March 31, 2022, regarding the increase, the new rates will be effective from Friday.

This hike will place Honda CG 125’s price at almost Rs160,000. It is worth noting that the same bike was priced at Rs134,000 last year in the same period.

#PAKvsIND: Angry fan puts up Pakistan cricket team for sale online

After it was humiliated by arch-rivals India in the ICC World Cup, a disheartened fan has put up the Pakistan cricket team for sale at an online marketplace.

As per the details, India on Sunday extended their unbeaten World Cup record against Pakistan as they managed to secure an 89-run win in the rain-affected match.

While a majority of people resorted to social media to vent out their frustration against Pakistan’s yet another disappointing performance, an annoyed fan took it all to a whole other level by putting the team up for sale.

“Pakistan cricket team, pretty useless and cannot take any responsibilities,” the ad from an anonymous seller read.

It, however, was removed by the hosting platform after a while.
