    ‘Atif, Shafqat and Rahat’: Arijit Singh opens up on favourite Pakistani singers in live concert

    Popular Indian singer Arijit Singh performed at a concert in Dubai Abu Dhabi recently. During the concert the Channa Mereya singer took out the time to praise Pakistani singers. “I have a question. It’s a wrong question, a controversial question. But still I want to ask it because I don’t give a d**n.”

    The musician continued, “I don’t follow news but tell me one thing, has music from Pakistan been banned in India?”

    “Is it still banned or has the ban been lifted?” asked the trending crooner, inviting a cheer from the crowd. He then went on to admire Pakistani singers.

    “Atif Aslam is one of my favourites and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shafqat Amanat Ali,” said the Tum Hi Ho singer.

    He went on to sing Atif Aslam’s song Pehli Nazar Mein from Race.

    Following the Pulwama attack in 2019 Pakistani artists were banned from working in India.

    Two music maestros Shafqat Amanat Ali and Abida Parveen met each other recently. While the legendary Sufi artist giving respect to the Mitwa singer is winning hearts on social media.

    Sharing the video, Amanat wrote: “One of the most fabulous yet the most humblest possible singer on earth and it feels like a blessing being around such souls.”

    In the video, the Aaqa singer can be seen bending to touch Manchala singer’s feet, while he quickly stops her and the two share a warm hug.

    The video went viral in minutes and people could not stop praising the level of respect the two veterans were giving to each other.

    Meanwhile, celebrities Ayesha Omar and Aima Baig appreciated the gestures.

    Pakistani artists set to perform for virtual Covid-19 fundraiser

    Pakisani artists are set to perform for a virtual sufi concert aimed to raise funds for COVID-19 victims. The event is scheduled to take place live on Sunday, May 10, 2020.

    According to the fundraising website, the initiative is called the Hamd-O-Naat and Sufi programme. Several popular Pakistani artists like Rafaqat Ali Khan, Ali Sethi, Haroon Rashid and Ustad Shafqat Amanat Ali will perform in the session.

    Other performances will feature Khurram Iqbal, Junaid Younus and Ali Sher.

    The portal suggests that these artists would be donating their time to help raise funds and the video link of the performances will be shared after a subscription of $10 per family.
