Every man does not look at women with lust: Hira Tareen

Pakistani actress and model Hira Tareen has said that its not necessary that every man only looks at women with lust.
Recently, Hira Tareen participated in the FHM, where she openly discussed various issues.

During the program, the actress confessed, “I am a feminist, but being a feminist does not mean that women’s rights are spoken of in one tone. I was invited to participate in the women’s march but did not participate because the march serves many purposes, it is not solely for women’s rights and autonomy.”
She said that while there is talk of equal rights for women in the country, there is also a discussion of superiority over men.
“Violence against women is condemnable in every way, but it is also a reality that the pleasures enjoyed by women in Pakistan are nowhere to be found.”
She clarified her point by saying that women are respected in Pakistan. “Now, if a woman goes out in bold clothes, people will definitely see her, but men looking does not always mean they see women with lust and dirty thoughts.”

She stressed that men who leer at womenbwill also see women in a veil, hijab, or shalwar kameez in the same light.

  • No suit, no service; Islamabad club will not entertain you if you’re wearing a dhoti

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member National Assembly (MNA) and member Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Sheikh Rohail Asghar was denied service at the Islamabad Club for wearing a Dhoti, the traditional Punjabi attire.

Expressing his anger, Asghar said, “Shalwar Kameez is our national dress and Dhoti a cultural dress. If I don’t wear a suit, then no one serves food in the club.” He tainted the club’s management, remarking that the British left the country, but their “remnants” still followed their rules.

The club’s secretary said that a formal dress code was applicable in the formal dining hall, as it was part of the club’s tradition and hence Asghar was denied service. He observed that Islamabad Club is not a cultural club.

PAC directed the management of Islamabad Club to call a board meeting to review the dress code and resolve the issue. There were also concerns over the financial affairs of the Islamabad Club and the committee sought an audit report in the next meeting.

  • PM Khan says bank staff wearing ‘shalwar kameez’ won’t ‘frighten’ Pakistanis

PM Khan says bank staff wearing ‘shalwar kameez’ won’t ‘frighten’ Pakistanis

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, during a ceremony held to approve the Rs100 billion in the Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar initiative on Friday, said that he was happy to see that banks have now started to converse in Urdu with their customers.

“Banks have started talking to customers in Urdu, so now make the staff wear shalwar kameez [national dress of Pakistan], this will not frighten the people,” said PM Khan.

“There were several hurdles earlier, as when a common person would go to the bank, they would suffer from anxiety,” said the premier, adding, “I see Pakistan now moving in the direction it should have been headed in a long time ago.”

“Pakistanis who worked as labourers overseas had one dream — to build a house for themselves and their families,” the prime minister said, regretting that past governments did not pay heed to this issue.

PM Khan said that past governments did not focus on the lower classes as they had only paid attention to the elite in every sector — education, health, and other facilities.

PM Imran Khan said this project would lift Pakistan’s economy, as construction of homes would increase.
