  • Farhan Ali Agha joins PTI

    Suno Chanda’s Farhan Ali Agha has joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). In a press conference held in Karachi Monday, Farhan announced his decision to join the ruling party.

    During the press conference, Farhan thanked PTI for giving him the opportunity and shared why he took this step.

    “I decided to Join PTI because it is need of the hour that honest people come forward and be a part of the movement so that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision and Quaid-e-Azam’s dream can be fulfilled,” said Farhan. “A dream of a country where common people will get justice.”

    Farhan further said that his father was in armed forces and he grew up listening to stories of sacrifices for the country.

    He shared that he has been following Imran Khan from his cricketing days and believes the future of Pakistan is with PTI.

    The press conference was held at the PTI Sindh’s Insaaf House at Shahr-e-Faisal.

    It is pertinent to add here that Abrar ul Haq is also a member of PTI. Other celebrities who openly show support for PTI include Hamza Ali Abbasi, Farhan Saeed, Mawra Hocane, Shaan Shahid and Ali Zafar.

    Earlier, Shamoon Abbasi had also announced that he has joined the ruling party to revive the cinema industry.

    “I’ve joined PTI, not as a politician; I’ve joined the development department of the media industry. We’ve created and forwarded new policies that the government has accepted and started implementing. Thankfully, Prime Minister Imran Khan is supporting us,” Abbasi had said.

    “A department is being created which will visit sets without notice and make sure things are functioning professionally. If a producer has employed someone without an agreement, he will be questioned and we will work things out accordingly,” he added.

    Hira Mani has expressed her disappointment with Iqra Aziz, Sarah Khan, Sajal Aly and Mira Sethi for not inviting her to their weddings.

    In a recent interview with actor and host Mira, Hira said that Pakistani celebrities don’t invite her to their weddings. Naming all those who didn’t invite her, Hira remarked that her colleagues don’t invite her because they don’t consider her as their friend.

    Pointing her guns at the host, Hira said, “You didn’t invite me to your wedding, Sajal didn’t invite me to her wedding, Sarah [Khan] did the same and Iqra also didn’t invite me.”

    “I don’t know why I am not being invited to weddings? Maybe I am not their friend,” said the actor.

    Sethi right away apologised to Hira and said that she had invited people via WhatsApp, and people who were on her contact list got the invitation.

    “Please forgive me, I forgot to invite you to my wedding because I cannot even say that I will invite you next time,” said Mira.

    In reply to this, Hira said, “Don’t worry, I will invite everyone to Muzammil’s (Hira’s sons) wedding.”

    Iqra’s Debut Performance

    Iqra started her career with modeling and commercials. She still does commercials but her priority is dramas.

    Iqra made her debut in 2014 in a drama serial Kissay Apna Kahein in a supporting role alongside Arij Fatyma and Danish Taimoor. The surprising thing is that Iqra was only 17 years old when she played this role.

    She was later cast in a leading role in drama serial Muqaddas opposite Noor Hassan. It was written by Adeel Razzak, directed by Ali Masud Saeed and produced by MD Productions. The drama aired on Hum Tv. It proved to be her “breakthrough” drama and she received Hum Award for Best Television Sensation Female.

    Iqra’s mother was Karachi’s first female Careem driver

    Iqra was born on November 24, 1997 and belongs to a Sindhi family. Her family includes her mother and sister Sidra Aziz, and herself. Her mother raised the two girls as a single parent. Iqra’s mother is one of the best examples of women empowerment in Pakistan as she struggled hard for her children and was the first female Careem driver in Karachi.

    Iqra once revealed in an interview that they went through a financial crisis but her mother made it through by struggling for her family with dignity and pride. She also shared in another interview that her mother wanted a son and was disappointed at her birth.

    Iqra didn’t meet her father until she was three

    Iqra didn’t have a clue who her father was until she was three. Her father worked in Saudi Arabia and came back home when she was three years old. Unfortunately, he died of a heart attack when Iqra was only twelve. She frequently talks about the time spent with her dad and misses the nine years they spent together.

    She couldn’t complete her studies

    Iqra couldn’t complete her graduation and holds an unfinished Bachelors of Commerce Degree from the University of Karachi. She is, however, looking to complete her education as soon as possible, when she gets a break from acting and modeling.

    Her Engagement with Yasir Hussain

    For those who don’t know, Iqra and Yasir had a very public engagement at the 18th Lux Style Awards. Hussain went down on one knee at the event and proposed to her. Some say that the proposal was planned and Iqra knew that he was going to propose. The couple formally tied the knot on December 28, 2019.

    Sadia Imam is not bidding goodbye to showbiz

    Pakistani actor Sadia Imam is not planning to quit the showbiz instead, she is all set for her comeback with a drama serial.

    As per reports, the actress expressed her displeasure over people spreading rumors about her that she is retiring from showbiz upon the request of her husband. She said that people have been making assumptions about her family.

    She said, “I haven’t announced that I am leaving showbiz, all such reports are nothing but rumors. My husband has never objected over my career choices and he is my major support.” 

    Reports further reveal that she is gearing up for a drama serial that will be aired soon.

    “Due to the recordings of my upcoming drama, my husband would take breaks from work and come to Pakistan so that our daughter was not alone,” said Imam. “After my parents, my husband is my biggest support.”

    She said that she did take a break from acting after her marriage as she wanted to give time to this new relationship, adding that she doesn’t plan on retiring soon.

    Sadia Imam got married in 2012 with a German-Pakistani, Adnan Haider and had moved to Germany after marriage. In August 2014, the couple was blessed with a baby girl. After returning to Pakistan in 2015, she started hosting shows on TV.
