    American woman comes to Pakistan to marry a man from Sialkot

    After becoming friends on Facebook four years ago, Zohaib Butt and Marjory have tied the knot and the Virginia citizen recently flew to Sialkot from the States to be with Butt.

    According to the groom, the two started as friends two years ago and decided to get engaged when Marjory visited Pakistan. The American native came back recently and the two tied the knot. Zohaib further revealed that Marjory accepted Islam and changed her name to Fatima.

    Meanwhile, in an interview, the bride said that she flew to Sialkot to marry the “love of her life,” adding that she loved the Pakistani culture as well.

    “I have enjoyed traveling to Pakistan. I’ve been here before and was welcomed by his family. I have enjoyed learning about his traditions, culture, and religion.”

    She continued, “Zohaib and I have talked for a long time over Facebook. This extended to his family where some of the children would take the phone from their parents and ask me for pictures of my dogs and children.”

    Teenager shot dead while filming TikTok video

    A 16-year-old boy was accidentally shot dead while recording a Tiktok video with his friends in Sialkot’s Kharota Syedan area.

    While the friends say that the teen, identified as Ammar Haider, shot himself accidentally in the stomach while they were shooting a video, his parents have claimed that one of his friends shot him intentionally.

    “Our son has been murdered over personal enmity,” Ammar father is reported to have said.

    The police have arrested both friends of the deceased and have registered a case. Investigation into the matter is underway.

    Meanwhile, the residents of the area have said that the three boys were close friends and would shoot videos often.

    At least 37 young people have lost their lives while making TikTok videos across the globe, reports have revealed. The highest number of cases have been reported in Pakistan and India.

    Actor and TV show host, Fahad Mustafa in a Twitter post requested parents to keep their children away from “this Tiktok bull****” and encourage them to do something productive.

    At least two masked men on an unregistered vehicle have been spotted in Sialkot, putting up banners seeking dismissal of judges who convicted former military ruler Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf last week.

    A special court trying the ex-preisdent had last week sentenced him to death for treason. While analysts had hinted at a possible rift among institutions over the death penalty for former army chief Musharraf, the detailed verdict of the case had drawn ire of many after one of the judges proposed public hanging.

    A week later, a video going viral over the internet has shown masked men putting up on Sialkot’s Khawaja Safdar Road some banners demanding dismissal of the judges who sentenced Musharraf.

    “We’ve been told to do so,” they can be heard as saying when asked about the person or organisation behind the banners, and do not specify who were the orders from.

    Mother kills son’s murderer after seven years

    A mother, Parveen Akhtar, has killed her son’s acquitted alleged murderer Nouman, after the Lahore High Court (LHC) had exonerated him of murder charges due to lack of evidence, ARY News reported.

    According to the details, Nouman, around seven years ago had allegedly murdered Parveen’s son Tasleem, age 21 over a domestic issue in Sialkot.

    Parveen had lodged a case agianst the suspect in the lower court and after the proceedings, the court had found Nouman guilty of killing her son, handing down a death sentence to him.

    Later, Nouman had filed a plea in the LHC against the death sentence, awarded to him in the murder case. After which in April 2019, the court had annulled the lower court’s verdict and declared Nouman innocent.

    Nouman after getting released from the court left for Dubai and remained their for several months, and upon his return to Pakistan, he was killed by the mother in revenge.

    Police have now registered a case against Parveen and her four accomplices for killing the man. A police official has said that they have arrested the woman and conducting raids to apprehend her other accomplices.

    He added that two murder cases were also registered against Parveen Akhtar’s son who had been allegedly killed by Nouman.
