    New iPhone 15 Pro design leaks unveiled: USB-C port and titanium chassis

    Recent leaks of the New iPhone 15 Pro CAD have unveiled significant design changes from Apple’s previous generations. The most discussed upgrade has now been revealed through photographic evidence.

    Apple insider, Unknownz21, has shared a close-up image of what they claim to be the USB-C port on the iPhone 15 Pro, without the need for any imagination or rendering. Unknownz21 has a proven track record, having sourced an early version of iOS 14 months ahead of release.

    Aside from the USB-C port, the photo also reveals an unfinished brushed material on the phone that looks similar to titanium, indicating a possible replacement for the stainless steel chassis on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. Additionally, the images display curvier edges, as previously leaked in recent iPhone 15 Pro renders.

    However, there is some bad news regarding the implementation of USB-C. It is expected that the performance of USB-C will differ significantly between the iPhone 15 Pro and standard models. Furthermore, Apple is rumored to include an authenticator chip that would control the use of USB-C ports. As seen with Lightning, this would require third-party cables and accessories to pass Apple’s MFi certification program, which could limit their performance or even prevent them from working altogether. This could result in additional costs for manufacturers and customers.

    Despite these potential drawbacks, 2023 is expected to be a significant year in the evolution of the iPhone. Apple is introducing changes to the chassis, display, ports, and buttons, as well as a new pricing structure that will differentiate between iPhone Pro and standard models.     Apple is limiting the production of its recently launched ‘budget’ smartphone, the ‘iPhone SE 2022’ owing to lower-than-expected demand. The tech giant has urged suppliers to reduce the manufacturing of the iPhone SE, by roughly 2 million to 3 million devices, or about 20 per cent of initial booking orders.

    In fact, the iPhone SE is still not as well-known as Apple’s higher-priced iPhones. According to research, from its launch through Q4 2021, the 2020 edition of the iPhone SE contributed to only 12 per cent of total iPhone sales.

    It is worth mentioning that Apple also slashed orders for AirPods by around 10 million devices for the current year.

    The 5g enabled iPhone SE is marketed by the company as an alternative for the premium devices from Apple. However, its price tag of Rs105,238 (excluding PTA charges) still seems surprising as compared to the earlier SE model which was offered with a lesser price tag of Rs72,520 (excluding PTA charges).

    According to Nikkei, the drop in production is a result of the Ukraine crisis and inflation’s detrimental influence on the demand for gadgets.

    Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, several major IT companies, including Apple, ceased sales in the country. The United States, the European Union, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan have all slapped economic sanctions on Russia, causing supply chain disruption and raising inflation concerns.

     Police arrested a 17-year-old man in India’s Odisha for selling his young wife to a 55-year-old man to buy a cellular phone, India today has reported.

    The teenager got married in July this year. He met a 55-year old man at his work in a brick kiln to whom he sold his wife.

    Police have rescued the 26-year-old wife from the south-eastern Rajasthan district of Baran after facing “great difficulty” because the villagers resisted handing over the woman to the police, saying that they had paid for her.

    Police officials said that the man took his wife to Rajasthan with him in August when he started a job there but only a few days later, he decided to sell her to the 55-year-old man for INR 1.8 lakh (PKR 4.18 lakh).

    After getting the money, the man splurged money on dining and then bought a smartphone. Later on, he returned to his village and when the woman’s family asked about her, he lied that she had run away.

    Police said that the woman’s family did not believe him and decided to register a complaint with the police. Upon further investigation, it turned out that the boy had sold his wife off.

    The report says that since the boy was under 18 years of age, he was sent to a juvenile court. The court ordered the man to be taken to a correctional facility.

    A woman in Argentina killed her boyfriend by hitting him with a smartphone on his head, ARY News reported.

    A criminal court in Argentina is hearing the case of 22-year-old Roxana Adelina Lopez for murdering Luis Dario Guantay. The incident took place at the victim’s rented home. Luis suffered a blow on his head and he was rushed to a hospital where he underwent surgery for brain injuries but could not make it. 

    The reason for the row is not yet known. An investigation is underway and Roxana Adelina Lopez is out on bail.

    After Luis’ death, his mother reported the case to the police and asked for action against the woman.

    Messaging application WhatsApp has announced the launch of a trial aimed at freeing its users from smartphones.

    In a blog post on Wednesday, Facebook engineers said the new feature would allow for the hugely popular service to be used on multiple “non-phone” devices without needing to connect to the smartphone app.

    “With this new capability, you can now use WhatsApp on your phone and up to four other non-phone devices simultaneously – even if your phone battery is dead,” the blog post said.

    Since its launch in 2009 as a smartphone messaging app, WhatsApp has amassed more than two billion users around the world and been acquired by Facebook.

    WhatsApp can already be used on “companion devices”, such as computers, but exchanges are routed in such a way that if a person’s smartphone is offline or has zero battery, it won’t work.

    Other issues can arise as well, such as frequent disconnection.

    “The new WhatsApp multi-device architecture removes these hurdles” by no longer requiring a smartphone to perform every operation,” the company said.

    The new capability will be expanded more broadly as it is refined, Facebook added.

    It also made assurances that WhatsApp’s security measures will still work under the new system.

    “Each companion device will connect to your WhatsApp independently while maintaining the same level of privacy and security through end-to-end encryption that people who use WhatsApp have come to expect.”
