Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha received an expensive BMW i7 as a gift from her husband Zaheer Iqbal right after their nuptials.
The pair got married on June 23 and registered their marriage under the Special Marriage Act on the same day.
After a private wedding ceremony, they held a large reception at Bastion in Mumbai, attended by family, friends, and Bollywood celebrities. They arrived at the reception in a white BMW i7, sparking speculation in Indian media that Zaheer had given the car, valued at around 20 million INR, to his bride.
The couple has faced criticism from Hindu extremists for Sonakshi, who is Hindu, marrying a Muslim actor. In response, Sonakshi’s father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, defended his daughter, saying, “My daughter has not done anything illegal or unconstitutional. People who criticize Sonakshi on social media have too much free time.”

The ceremony took place at Sonakshi’s apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, on 23-06-2024 Sunday evening. They shared their wedding pictures on Instagram with the caption, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each others eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever. Sonakshi, Zaheer 23.06.2024.”
The wedding rituals were performed in Mumbai city and the event was attended by their families and closet friends, including Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth, and a special appearance by Salman Khan, who made a stylish entry. The two of them were dressed in the same off-white attire: Zaheer was wearing a kurta and Sonakshi was wearing a beautiful saree.
Shatrughan Sinha’s attendance at the party ended rumors that he didn’t approve of the wedding and wouldn’t come. Earlier, he had told Times Now he was “waiting to be informed” about his daughter’s wedding. “All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain (Nowadays, children don’t seek permission; they simply inform their parents).”

There have been many rumors about a planned intimate wedding on June 23 in Mumbai, but neither the actor nor her family has confirmed or denied these reports.
However, Poonam Dhillon, a close friend of the Sinha family and frequent co-star of Sonakshi’s father Shatrughan Sinha, confirmed in a recent interview that the wedding is about to take place. She mentioned receiving a lovely invitation from the couple.
“I wish Sonakshi all the very best. She has sent a lovely invitation,” said Dhillon.
“I have known her since she was a little girl. I have seen her entire journey. I pray to God she stays happy. She is a lovely, warm, very loving girl. So I wish her all the joy and happiness,” she added.
Addressing the groom-to-be, the veteran star requested, “Please keep her happy, Zaheer. She is a lovely girl. She is precious for all of us.”
For those who don’t know, several media outlets reported earlier this week that Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, who have been in a relationship for over seven years, are getting married.

On October 10, Karan Johar posted his last tweet and announced that he is quitting Twitter. He has been facing a lot of trolling online. His chat show, Koffee with Karan 7 grabbed a lot of attention like always but this time, people were seen targeting him for constantly mentioning mommy-to-be Alia Bhatt’s name throughout the season. During the finale episode, Karan went on to reveal that even Alia pointed out the same thing and asked him to not mention her. In his last tweet, Karan said that he is leaving Twitter to ‘make space for more positive energies’. His tweet read, “Making space for more positive energies only and this is step one towards that. Goodbye Twitter!”
Sonakshi Sinha
In 2020, Sonakshi announced her decision to leave Twitter to ‘stay away from negativity’. She quit the platform after Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise. The actress took to Instagram and shared the update with her fans. Her post read, “The first step to protecting your sanity is to stay away from negativity. And nowhere more of that than Twitter these days. Chalo I’m off– deactivating my account. Bye guys, peace out. Aag lage basti mein… mein apni masti mein! Bye Twitter.”
Aamir Khan
In 2021, after celebrating his birthday, Aamir shared a note with his fans to update them about his decision to leave social media. He revealed that he wanted to focus on work and keep himself dedicated to his art. Before exiting, Aamir wrote, “Hey guys, thank you so much for all the love and warmth on my birthday. My heart is full. In other news, this is going to be my last post on social media. Considering that I am SO active anyway. I have decided to drop the pretence. Saqib also decided to leave Twitter and cited ‘bullying and lack of kindness’ as the main reasons. He shared a long note with his fans and thanked them for their love. A part of his note read, “Hey Twitter, when we met for the first time, you were a lovely. A great platform to express feelings, gather knowledge and understand many different points of view. But, of late you seem to have gotten lost in all the hate everyone is so ready to throw at each other, a place of bullies, a place where abusing people is a normal code of conduct. These last few days have forced me to realise that I don’t need this kind of energy in my life, where I wake up to hatred, where kindness is lost. It has made me realise that I need to surround myself with people, things, content and vibes that reflect who I want to be and how I want to feel; energies are contagious!”
Shashank Khaitan
Dhadak director Shashank Khaitan also quit the platform after Sushant’s demise in 2020. Amid the nepotism debate, he called Twitter a ‘breeding ground for hate and negativity’. His post read, “Done with twitter… just a breeding ground for hate and negativity… very sad that a platform so powerful, could not be used to create a better world… praying for peace and love always… deactivating my account now…”
Zaheer Iqbal
Zaheer Iqbal made his Bollywood debut alongside Pranutan Bahl in Notebook and Salman Khan backed the film. He also bid goodbye to Twitter without revealing any particular reason. The actor is rumoured to be dating Sonakshi.
Aayush Sharma
Salman’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma also decided to leave Twitter due to negativity. He took to Instagram and wrote, “280 characters are less to define a human being. But 280 characters are more than enough to spread fake news, hatred and negativity. Didn’t sign up for this nasty herd mentality. Khuda hafiz.”
Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha recently returned from Da-Bangg Tour with Salman Khan,Disha Patani, Pooja Hegde, and others. Now the actress has landed in legal trouble as a non-bailable warrant has been issued against her in a fraud case.
Sonakshi made her Bollywood debut as Rajjo Pandey in the action-drama film Dabangg in 2010, since then she has appeared in several commercial films.
Now the latest report ETimes claims that the Holiday diva has been accused of not attending an event in Delhi, for which she had charged Rs 37 lakh. The event organizer named Pramod Sharma had planned an event and invited the actress as the Chief Guest. However, the actress failed to attend the event.
Following this, the organizer requested to return the money. The report reveals that the actress’ manager declined to pay the money back to the event organizer. He even tried to contact the Dabangg actress multiple times but it was in vain. The event organizer then filed a complaint of fraud against her.
Reportedly, the Force 2 star even arrived at Moradabad to record her statement in this case. But due to her continuous absence thereafter, now the court has issued a warrant against the Bollywood diva in the fraud case. Seems like the actress is landed in legal trouble.
On the work front, Sonakshi will be next seen in ‘Double XL’ alongside Huma Qureshi in the lead role. Apart from this, she also has ‘Kakuda’ with Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem.
Soon after Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and actress Sonakshi Sinha’s fake wedding photo went viral, the Dabangg star reacted to it on Instagram. Sonakshi has reacted to a post on an Instagram page, calling it plain dumb for people to believe it.
Reacting to one such post, Sonakshi Sinha commented, “Are you so dumb that you can’t tell the difference between a real and a morphed picture.” The post, shared on the subreddit Bolly Blinds n Gossip, shows the screenshot of the original picture with Sonakshi’s comment on it.
Since the last few days, a bizarre picture of the duo has been doing the rounds on social media. In the photograph, both the actors could be seen exchanging wedding rings while a thick line of Kumkum rested on Sonakshi’s scalp.

While Fawad sings Roop Tera Mastana for Deepika, he sang Chaudvi Ka Chaand for Sonakshi Sinha. Needless to say, the ladies were impressed and Deepika even went down on one knee for Fawad.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that after the awards ceremony, Fawad jetted off to Barcelona with Deepika and Karan Johar for a mini-vacay.
Fawad’s last project in Bollywood was Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which also released in 2016.
