    Asim Azhar’s ‘Jo Tu Na Mila’ enters the ‘100 million club’

    Asim Azhar has become the youngest and the fourth Pakistani artist after Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam and Momina Mustehsan to enter the ‘100 million club’ after his single Jo Tu Na Mila crossed more than 100 million views on YouTube. His other song which achieved this milestone was his duet with Momina Mustehsan for Coke Studio 9: Tera Woh Pyaar.

    The singer shared the news in a social media update and thanked his fans for their support.

    In another update, the singer remarked that it was impossible for him to put his feelings into words.

    Jo Tu Na Mila is a love ballad which talks about unrequited love. The song, which features Iqra Aziz, has been composed and sung by Asim while the lyrics have been penned by Kunaal Vermaa.

    Back when it was released, the song was even loved by none other than Bollywood bigwig Karan Johar.

  • Taher Shah explains the philosophy behind ‘Farishta’

    Taher Shah came, he saw and he conquered. And though his latest offering Farishta failed to impress fans who wanted more from the singer, the song managed to create a buzz and was trending on all social media platforms.

    While everyone kept referring to Farishta as the Urdu version of Shah’s previous song Angel, the singer has now stepped forward to explain the philosophy behind his latest masterpiece.

    “The philosophy of the song Farishta is that children are like angels,” wrote Shah. “Angels are sacred so we can righteously equate them with angels. These little individual are the essential component of our life.”

    The singer proceeded to explain the importance of children in our lives before writing, “The basic tale of the song video is, one cute child who as a king visits the fantasy world with his loyal friend unicorn who comes from the skies and take the child to beautiful fantasy world and where one butterfly meet with child which ultimately becomes fairy for the child and then like an ‘Farishta‘ both fall in love with each other for forever.”

    The singer added the kid’s personality resembles his own son and that he has dedicated this video to him and all children in the world.

  • Donkey King returns with a coronavirus anthem

     The Donkey King has made his comeback with a coronavirus anthem.

    Mangu – the popular character from the animated movie Donkey King has sung a song ‘Darna Nahi, Larna Hai‘ which is the latest coronavirus anthem urging people to take all the precautionary measures.

    In the video for the anthem, Mangu urges everyone to practice social distancing but keep our hearts connected. The video also features other characters of the movie as they ask us to avoid going out of the house unnecessarily. The video ends with the message, “Stay home, stay safe.”

    Shuja Haider and Asrar lend their vocals for the anthem. The lyrics have been written by Donkey King director Aziz Jindani.

    Donkey King is Pakistan’s comedy animated movie released in October 2018. The movie has been released in cinemas around the world and has also been dubbed in many languages, including Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Korean, Spanish, Basque, and Catalan.

    Renowned singer Sajjad Ali’s son Khubi made his debut in his father’s latest romantic medley Baarish.

    The video also stars Reema and a newcomer Merub. In the music video, Ali looks back at his first love. The video shows the story of two young lovers, played by Khubi and Merub, who part ways on a rainy afternoon. 

    The Teri Yaad singer has not only sung the song but he also directed the video. Sajjad Ali has also done composition and lyrics.

    A few years ago, Khubi and his brother Shabi, had launched a band called SK Champs. Their first song was We Are The Guys.

    Farhan Saeed drops new single ‘Baliyay’

    Time and time again Farhan Saeed has entranced us with his melodious voice. The singer-turned-actor isn’t as active on the music scene as he used to be but he makes sure to keep reminding us that he has still got it.

    Saeed recently dropped a new single titled Baliyay. The song is soft, melodious and almost like a lullaby.

    According to the composer and producer of the song, “Baliyay is about spreading peace and working together to make the world around us a better place.”

    Baliyay has been written, composed and produced by Saad Sultan.

    Cricketer Bilal Asif is releasing his first music video

    Pakistani cricketer Bilal Asif is releasing a music video. He not only sang the song but also wrote it’s lyrics.

    Sharing a poster of his upcoming song Akhiyan, Bilal said that he was “super thrilled” about it and that he hopes everyone will like it.

    Earlier, Bilal was often seen singing and his videos went viral a couple of times. 

    Bilal made his ODI debut in 2015 against Zimbabwe. He has played three ODI matches and five Tests for Pakistan to date.

    Amjad Sabri features in Coldplay’s latest album

    British band Coldplay has released a new album titled Everyday Life and it features the late qawwal Amjad Sabri.

    In an interview with Entercom, the band’s lead singer Chris Martin while talking about the second song in the album Church — released as a single — shared the inspiration behind it sharing that the band have incorporated samples from Sabri’s hit track Jaga Ji Laganay into it.

    “There’s two cool other singers on that one. There’s this guy who was a Pakistani singer, called Amjad Sabri. He was sadly murdered by people who didn’t like what he stood for. Then there’s a friend of ours called Norah who is a guy from Jerusalem.”

    Martin described Church as a love song that “fell through the sky,” referring to how the band received inspiration to make a song they think is great.

    Whether Coldplay obtained permission from Sabri’s family to use the track is not known as of yet.

    Meanwhile, Everyday Life has already made it to the top of the Official Album Charts.
