Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has lashed out at Sonya Huyssyn for bringing down Mahira Khan in context for signing the Bollywood movie Raees opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Sharmeen left a comment under a post of digital media news publication saying, “Don’t think you’ll ever be Mahira Khan so you won’t ever get to say no,” She further added, “Don’t dis other women in the industry reflects poorly on you and your upbringing.”

During the rapid fire segment of the show, Yasir asked Sonya that if she was Mahira Khan which film of hers she would have not done? The Karachi Se Lahore actor gave her three options: Verna, Raees and Ho Mann Jahan. To which the Saraab star replied that she wouldn’t have done Raees as she has no interest of playing a sidekick character to Shah Rukh Khan.

Mahira won acclaim for her performance in her Bollywood debut, Raees which entered the 100 Crore club and catapulted Mahira to superstardom.

Recently Mathira taking to her social media account opened up about her combat with depression during and after her divorce, and a shocking experience she faced when fellow actress Sonya Hussyn bullied her.
When a digital portal posted about Sonya’s call with her father, Mathira commented that: “You are a fake girl. Some women like her are pretty faces but ugly souls”.
She commented to elaborate details of the event. The Blind Love actress recalled that there were some people who stood by her side during that hard time she was facing, such as actor Azfar Rehman.

When the host asked Sonya about her opinion on Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan’s slap incident with PPP MNA Qadir Khan Mandokhail, Sonya replied that some people deserve to be slapped.
“When you appear on TV then you have some responsibility to behave well. If someone deserves it then it’s alright but one should not disrespect women, for instance, Khalil Sahab disrespected women. When you are on a media platform then you should keep your personal views aside and talk responsibly,” she said.

Sonya Hussyn has thrashed the writer of Mere Paas Tum Ho and Sadqay Tumharay, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar for his problematic statements about women and his professional associations.

Khalil had earlier claimed that he never offered the role of the female lead in his blockbuster drama to Sonya, and nor did he ever want to cast her in the show as he believes she doesn’t have the caliber of being in his play. While the Aangan actress has claimed that she was offered Ayeza’s character in the play but she had turned it down because she can’t tolerate women being shown in a bad light in dramas.
Sonya revealed that Khalil did approach her in the past and still does. She added that he has no rights of casting as he is just a writer.
But Khalil refuted her claim and stated that Sonya was making a false claim on being offered the role. He further added that it was impossible to cast her in the play because he would have refused it outright.
The Kaaf kangana writer also indulged in a misogynist war of words with political commentator Marvi Sirmed in March 2020 which started a debate on his misconduct in the industry.
In a recent interview with Time out with Ahsan Khan revealed that she does not know who Faryal Mehmood is. It is pertinent to mention here that both the actresses share a turbulent history with each other.
Faryal Mehmood replaced Sonya Hussyn in the Faysal Qureshi, Amina Sheikh and Zahid Ahmed starrer, Sorry-A Love Story after Sonya opted out of it over issues with the production team.

Sonya and Faryal worked together in a 2015’s drama serial Farwa Ki ABC directed by Sohail Javed, Faryal was new in the industry and played a supporting role in the play headlined by Sonya.

Sonya and Faryal exchanged in a social media war after the drama where Sonya made fun of her appearance and upcoming project. Faryal reverted back with salty comments and asked Sonya to “Take a rickshaw to where you came from”.

As Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida comes to an end with the tragic death of Ulfat, the main leads of the drama have some deadly ideas for a second season.
Mansha Pasha, who played Shafaq in the drama, said: “[In] Season 2, Ulfat comes back as a ghost and she and Shafaq are still fighting on Shahaan.”
On the other hand, Sonya Hussyn, who played Ulfat said; “Season: 2 Ulfat, Shafaq k kehnay pe Shahan ko chamatay kara rahi hai or Shahan soch soch k pagal hogya k akhir par kahan sy rahi hain. Wahh oneliner soch k hi maza aagya.”

Meanwhile, Zahid Ahmed, who played Shahaan, said: “Please kill me in the first episode of season 2.”
Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida’s plotline revolved around a love triangle. Audiences had compared the drama to Anil Kapoor and Sri Devi’s Judai, but Mansha clarified that the story is inspired by the Sindhi folk tale Lilan Chanesar.
Meanwhile, promising to meet again, Sonya bid goodbye to her character in a social media post.
