Sehar Shinwari promises to marry a Zimbabwean man if their team defeats India in T20 World Cup

Pakistani actress Sehar Shinwari recently created a stir on social media when she tweeted about the Indian Cricket team’s next match against Zimbabwe in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

She wrote, ‘I’ll marry a Zimbabwean guy if their team miraculously beats India in the next match.

Her tweet comes a week after Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan by one run, putting the team in a precarious position.

On November 3, Sehar took to Twitter and wrote, “I’ll marry a Zimbabwean guy if their team miraculously beats India in the next match.”

  • Pak Vs. Ind: Umpires come under fire for giving no-ball in last over, fans call it cheating

Pak Vs. Ind: Umpires come under fire for giving no-ball in last over, fans call it cheating

After India’s thrilling four-wicket victory against Pakistan in a heart-stopping T20 World Cup match, which took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in front of 90,000 exuberant fans on Sunday, fans and experts were left perplexed by a few on-field decisions.

Virat Kohli led a 160-run chase that proved challenging after India were reduced to 31 for 4 with the score at 82 runs without loss.

The most crucial gear in India’s T20 machine, Hardik Pandya, scored 40 runs off 37 balls in a 113-run partnership. The pair carried the contest into the decisive over as it was close.

When Pandya holed out off Mohammed Nawaz’s bowling with 16 needed off the final six balls, Dinesh Karthik faced his first delivery and took a single because the crossover rule was not in effect.

After some discussion, the on-field umpires ruled that Nawaz’s delectable full-toss, which was hit for a six over square leg with 14 needed off three balls, was a no-ball.

By that point, Nawaz, the inspiration behind Pakistan’s Super 4 success in the Asia Cup, had lost his composure.

Ravichandran Ashwin hit the most significant boundary of his career after Nawaz bowled a wide and Karthik was stumped by a quick-thinking Mohammed Rizwan.

The umpire’s decision to grant three byes rather than declare a dead ball after Kohli was bowled on a free hit left the spectators with a bitter taste.

It should be noted that ICC rules and regulations permit runs on a dismissal off a free hit. Only after it is firmly placed in the bowler’s or wicketkeeper’s hands does the ball officially cease to exist.

Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg tweeted: “Why was no ball not reviewed, then how can it not be a dead ball when Kohli was bowled on a free hit.”

Fans criticised it as cheating, while some threw the law book at the umpires. Here are some tweets:

Additionally, there were tweets stating that commentator Nasser Hussain commented that “Umpires made some weird decision in favour of India today, but maybe we should keep quiet and not upset the ICC and BCCI,” which triggered another controversy on Twitter and angered fans even more.

After some time, Nasser clarified, saying that he had not said anything like that and that the fake quotes should be deleted.

  • Babar Azam has a game that fits all three formats, but his Test batting stands out: Ian Chappell

Babar Azam has a game that fits all three formats, but his Test batting stands out: Ian Chappell

Babar Azam, the all-format skipper of Pakistan, has proved himself as one of the best batters in contemporary cricket with his consistency, spectacular flair, and shot selection.

Former players now think that Babar is on par with contemporary batting greats because of his comparisons to Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Steven Smith, and Joe Root, which have become the talk of the town.

Ian Chappell, a former Australian cricketer, commended Babar Azam’s finely honed technique, drives, and stroke selection, writing, “Babar is a complete player with his flowing drives and all-around shot range.”

“To round out the picture, he has a game that fits all three formats, but his Test batting, with an ability to compile centuries, stands out,” he continued.

It is important to note that the 27-year-old has been in form since assuming the captaincy of the national team, and he has already recently broken multiple batting records of all-time greats across formats.

The right-hander finished the T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE last year having scored 303 runs in six innings, including four half-centuries, and leading the Men in Green to the semi-finals.

  • Shaun Tait all praise for Pakistani bowlers as T20 World Cup approaches

Pakistan bowling coach and former Australian pacer Shaun Tait has heaped praise on his young bowlers, singling out right-arm pacer Naseem Shah who he said reminds him of his younger self.

With Pakistan England series and ICC men’s T20 world cup 2022 just around the corner, Tait lauded Pakistan’s pacers’ energy.

“Pakistan fast bowlers have their natural abilities. They like to keep things simple but they’ve got so much ability and have a lot of flair. So, that’s already ingrained in these guys,” he said.

Admiring the emerging pacer Naseem Shah, he said, “In some ways, he reminds me of myself when I was a younger cricketer. He’s sort of free-spirited. But I wasn’t as intelligent. I think you’ve all seen his natural abilities and skill with the new ball.”

Speaking about another paceman, Haris Rauf, who seemed at his absolute best in Asia Cup 2022, Tait said, “He’s got the pace, he’s got the swing, he’s got the aggression, all that stuff and we just talked about being more consistent in his areas and bowling in the right areas that were going to make it difficult for the batsman and be more consistent doing that. We worked and we talked about his death bowling a lot and worked on his death bowling as well but they’re just the usual things.”

  • India’s bowling is not as ‘glamorous’ as Pakistan’s, but it produces results: Rahul Dravid

India’s bowling is not as ‘glamorous’ as Pakistan’s, but it produces results: Rahul Dravid

Before facing Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super 4, Team India head coach Rahul Dravid had all praise for his team’s bowling attack. Dravid claimed during a news conference that while India’s bowling attack might not be as ‘glamorous’ as their Pakistani counterparts, they still do the job.

He was attempting to explain this when he ran out of a term, but he quickly came up with another way to make his point.

After India defeated Pakistan in the group round, the two Asian powerhouses clashed for the second time in the competition.

“They are a good bowling side, but we also bowled well to restrict them to 147 (in the first match),” Dravid said on being asked whether Pakistan has a better bowling line-up.

“End of the day bowling analysis is the most important thing. You are judged by the results you produce. I respect their bowling but I am very confident that we have a good bowling attack that produces results.”

On the eve of the prestigious game, the former captain told the media: “(Our bowling) might not look very glamorous but in terms of results we got some guys who produce results.”

Avesh Khan, a pace bowler, is still questionable for the crucial game.

“Avesh has been under the weather but hopefully he should be okay for tomorrow or for the later part of the tournament,” said Dravid.

Arshdeep Singh, Hardik Pandya, and Yuzvendra Chahal are the speed alternatives for India’s bowling unit, which is led by veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Axar Patel, who took Ravindra Jadeja’s place due to injury, and Yuzvendra Chahal are the spin possibilities.

In Dravid’s opinion, the team will be put to the test in tight contests against Pakistan before the T20 World Cup in October-November.

“We know Pakistan is a good team and it is a challenging match,” said Dravid.

“It will be a packed stadium and there is always an edge to these games and it’s good to play such games where you are tested. It’s good to play such tournaments before the World Cup.”

Three of Pakistan’s fast bowlers, including star quick Shaheen Shah Afridi, suffered injuries, but Naseem Shah’s rapid bowling has kept the opposition’s batters on their toes.
