Young Stunner makes history as first Pakistani duo to perform at a Billboard event

In a thrilling development for the Pakistan music industry, Young Stunner, a duo featuring Talha Anjum and Talha Yonus, has made history by becoming the first Pakistani artist to perform at the prestigious Billboard event in Melbourne, Australia.

The two artists are rising stars in the Urdu hip-hop scene, and this monumental achievement marks a new chapter in Pakistan’s growing influence on the global music stage.

Billboard is an American music magazine widely recognized as a global authority on music rankings, trends, and industry news.

Known for its iconic charts, including the Billboard Top 100 songs, the platform has been a driving force in the music world for over a century.

Artists worldwide aspire to see their songs top these rankings, which are based on a combination of factors like chart performance, streaming numbers, and sales.

Young Stunner’s performance in Melbourne will, therefore, be not only a personal triumph but also a significant milestone for the entire Pakistani music industry.

Known for their unique style and blend of Urdu hip-hop, Stunner’s music is now gaining global recognition.

Though the country’s music scene has not yet reached the same level of global recognition as some other countries, the rise of artists like Young Stunner is changing that.

Earlier, Young Stunners’ upcoming performances was in Delhi on December 25, Bengaluru on December 21, and Mumbai on December 13. Skill Box is in charge of organizing the tour and has started accepting pre-registrations for concert tickets, giving priority to those who purchase them early.

However, the rappers have not announced the tour on their social media and have only updated it with updates about their tours in Australia and Canada.

And some Indian social media users are criticizing the event by reposting previous tweets from Talha Anjum’s accounts, which allegedly made fun of Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan, attacked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and called for the independence of Kashmir from Indian rule.

In an Instagram post, Yunus not only revealed the album cover but also shared the tracklist, featuring exciting collaborations.

Fatima Bhutto has advice for celebs and their ‘hot takes’ on Palestine

As the Palestine seige continues to rage on, several celebrities expresses their opinions, however, most of them received backlash. Rapper Talha Anjum and former wife to Imran Khan, Jemima Goldsmith were slammed by social media for releasing statements that were taking a neutral stance.

Writer and columnist Fatima Bhutto has taken it upon herself to advice celebrities that it’s okay for them to refuse to comment on the Palestine war, because sometimes it’s better to stay silent than bombard others with unverified facts!

“Will celebrities and their PR teams please stop issuing statements on Palestine? They are incoherent and dishonest. When you have no courage of conviction it shows . There is slaughter taking place,” Bhutto wrote.

In the next slide, Bhutto shared the irony of whether these celebrities would give the same ‘all side’s matter’ monologue during gruesome sieges including the Warsaw Ghetto or Rwanda.

“All I can say is thank god these celebs weren’t asked for their solidarity during Jim Crow (they’d find ways to ‘hold space for both sides’), the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, Rwanda, the Bosnian war or any other massacres and gross injustices of our times.”

Yesterday Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai was criticised by social media users for her statement on the Palestine-Israel war, with several users questioning why the Pakistani activist was quick to condemn the Ukrainian war, but not this.

Jemima Goldsmith, Talha Anjum statements on Palestine-Israel war trigger intense backlash, debate

As the Palestine-Israel conflict rages on in the Middle East, several celebrities have come forward in favor of the Palestine struggle or against it.

Rapper Talha Anjum took to Twitter to share how social media users should not encourage the war, as it might further aggravate the oppression Palestinians were already suffering from, leaving users divided.

“An average Pakistani knows how to post praises for Hamas for killing hundreds of Israeli soldiers/citizens but isn’t smart enough to realise what’s stored in for Palestinians in coming days. 600 already dead. Stop glorifying wars. Grow the f*** up!!”

Many users sided with the ‘Gumaan’ rapper, as one user wrote: “I tend to agree to this to some extent. These praises aren’t for Hamas, these praises are for the fightback. but yeah, things were already bad and are about to get worse for Palestinians. Prayers for Palestine.”

While other user’s felt that Talha’s statement was extremely problematic as a user wrote: “No one knows this better than the Palestinians. Imagine the desperation of them to fight like this as a last resort! If peace talks ever worked they would have done it a long time ago. Each and every time Israel has broken their contract. They would never be liberated w/o war”

Another user wrote: “Bhai rebellion against oppression..which the people of Palestine have been facing since years now isn’t w@r and Hamas doens’t even have the resources to compete with Israel atm ..what are you even saying ..the only ones suffering were and are suffering now are Palestinians.”

Talha Anjum’s take alone did not trigger a debate about the conflict. Screenwriter and ex-wife of former prime minister Imran Khan, Jemima, shared on Twitter that she was standing in favour of innocent human beings who were killed in this war.

“I stand with the innocent human beings on both sides of this conflict, especially the children. Condemn both.”

Many users felt her take was justified

While others accused the ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ filmmaker of playing on both sides and refusing to take a solid stance against Israel’s senseless massacre of countless Palestinian civilians. On another post where Jemima shared a quote saying “I stand with international law and human rights. There is no humanity in political tribalism”, most of the comments from Pakistanis were overwhelmingly negative.
