    A man named Zain Yaqub came up with a hilarious yet much-needed plan, by hiring a man named Ian as his ‘secretary’ to answer all the messages on the family WhatsApp group on his behalf, as per Times Now News.

    His family soon came to know about this and decided to play along. Even a video was shared on TikTok by Zain’s brother, showed the chats where Ian answered.

    “Sorry this is Ian, I will relay this message to Zain and get back to you when he responds,” was the secretary’s standard message to the family. Upon this, the father asked him to send Zain his love.

    The video went viral on TikTok, where Zain’s father confirmed that he has met Ian over a Zoom call as well. A user actually suggested, “Start inviting the secretary to family events instead of Zain.”

    Who likes such groups where thousands of good morning messages and memes keep coming in? This is a great solution for a desi household.

    She recently grabbed headlines for referring to ‘Javelin Thrower’ Arshad Nadeem as a ‘cricketer’.

    The Load Wedding hero, Fahad Mustafa stated in a recently resurfaced interview that he was taken aback when she told him to go get a water bottle for her. The Parey Hut Love star acted as if Fahad is a spot boy or a servant on the event. Fahad mentioned that he felt very strange as he was an established actor by then and Meera knew who he was. He said that despite her mistreatment, he provided her with a water bottle.

    The Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 actor also confessed that once he lost his cool on Meera when she appeared on his morning show as a guest. Fahad revealed that it was one of those rare moments when he had to lash out on a female actor as she was being rude on the live show, Meera reverted back in anger too.

    Although when the Naagin star met him after a while on a flight, she pretended as if nothing ever happened.

    Shahid Afridi wants a ban on TikTok, appeals to Shehzad Roy to raise voice

    Former Pakistani cricket team captain Shahid Afridi was invited on Ahsan Khan’s talk show, Time Out with Ahsan khan along with singer Shehzad Roy. The sports star appealed the Mukhra singer that he should get TikTok banned for the betterment of the society.

    Shahid highlighted that the app is being misused by civilians and can be accessed in regions of the country where the literacy rate is insufficient for the users to understand the importance of using the app correctly.

    “You raise voice for everything, get TikTok banned as well,” Afridi asked the Ya Rabb singer.

    In response to Afridi’s demand, Shehzad Roy asked why he wants the app to be banned.

    “In most of our remote areas, WiFi reached before education,” the cricketer answered.

    He added that there have been multiple incidents due to TikTok. The all-rounder also expressed his displeasure over the usage of mobile phone by kids and mentioned that his daughter got a phone after turning nineteen.

    Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan at the conclusion of the Olympic Games on Sunday, shared a message for his followers on social media, featuring a Tiktok video that conveys the importance of not giving up.

    “I want the youth of Pakistan to watch the race and learn the most important lesson that sports taught me: you only lose when you give up,” wrote the premier.

    The 62-second clip shared by PM Imran Khan shows an athlete falling down on his face during a sprint before getting back on his feet again and finishing ahead of everyone else.

    It is the fourth time that the wildly popular video sharing app has been blocked in Pakistan and the third time this year. Free speech advocates are critical of growing censorship since PM Imran Khan took office in 2018.

    The app has been caught up in a series of legal battles with religious activists and authorities. Prior to this shutdown, the app was barred for two days in early July on the order of a provincial court.

    Despite being hugely popular and useful to many who market and sell goods online in Pakistan, TikTok has many critics in the country who claim the app promotes vulgarity.

    In June, the company announced it had removed more than siz million videos in just the previous three months alone as a result of complaints from officials and citizens alike. Of those six million videos, 15% were pulled because of “adult nudity and sexual activities.”

    The first time that Pakistan moved to block TikTok in 2020, the ban was lifted after diplomatic pressure from China and assurances from Byte Dance, the parent company, with regards to content moderation.

    Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Athar Minallah expressed anger over the fourth ban on video-sharing app TikTok by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and has asked the authority for justification regarding the ban.

    Chief Justice IHC was hearing a citizen’s petition against ban. During the hearing, CJ IHC remarked: “Why has TikTok been banned? If banning TikTok is the only solution, then Google should also be banned.”

    The PTA lawyer said that the ban was imposed under PECA in light of the orders of the Sindh and Peshawar High Courts. Chief Justice IHC Athar Minallah directed the PTA counsel to read out both the judgements and remarked that neither of the courts had asked for a complete closure of TikTok, but had rather asked to create a mechanism.

    TikTok was banned for the fourth time in Pakistan on July 21, 2021 for its failure to take down “inappropriate content”. Days before the ban, President Arif Alvi had joined TikTok to “spread the message of positivity & motivation for the youth of Pakistan“.

    A clip from Faysal Quarishi’s show on a local TV Channel has gone viral on social media in which Faysal lost his temper on a contestant’s misconduct on live show.

    During the show a female contestant started hitting her fellow contestant in a frank capacity, on which the Fitoor star got angry and lashed out on the makers of the show for hiring such contestants for the game show. He also scolded the TikToker who is also a contestant on the show and conducted the unprofessional act in front of him.

    The video is surfacing across digital media platforms and Faysal even trended on Twitter for this video where netizens praised him for taking a stand on the matter.

  • Fawad Chaudhry welcomes Sindh High Court’s decision to withdraw TikTok ban

    The Sindh High Court (SHC) has lifted the ban on the video-sharing app, TikTok. The ban was imposed on June 28 for spreading immorality and obscenity in the country. The case has been adjourned till July 5.

    Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has welcomed the decision by the SHC. “Technology war is being fought in the world right now.”

    “The regulatory bodies and judiciary should stay away from such fights and the investors wanting to invest in Pakistan should be welcomed,” Chaudhry added.

    Senator Faisal Javed Khan has urged youth to utilise social media platforms in a responsible and productive manner. The senator further added that PTA has promised to dispose of the complaints by July 5.

    The recent ban on TikTok was imposed for the third time in Pakistan. Earlier this year in March, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) banned TikTok over immoral content, but the ban was later lifted in April.

    Last year, Pakistan blocked the app on October 9, 2020. The ban was lifted after the TikTok management assured the Pakistani authorities that it will block all accounts repeatedly involved in spreading obscenity and immorality.

  • TikTok issues a statement on Sindh High Court’s ban

    TikTok has reacted to its suspension by the Sindh High Court with an official statement. The statement read, “We continue to work with regulators, and look forward to serving the millions of TikTok users and creators in Pakistan who have found a home for creativity, fun and vital economic opportunities for many years to come”, as reported by Express Tribune.

    The statement also mentioned that, “The creativity and passion of our community has brought joy to households across Pakistan and provided a platform for incredibly talented creators”.

    TikTok Pakistan’s latest transparency report revealed that it removed a whopping 6,495,992 videos making it the second most country to get the maximum videos removed after the USA, where 8,540,088 videos were removed.

    On Monday, SHC banned TikTok across the country till July 8 for spreading immorality and obscenity in the country. TikTok ban has been imposed for the third time in Pakistan.

    Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has criticised the Sindh High Court (SHC) for banning the video-sharing app TikTok. On Monday, SHC banned TikTok across the country till July 8 for spreading immorality and obscenity in the country.

    “Pakistan will never come out of its economic crisis if judicial reforms are not undertaken,” the minister wrote in a tweet.

    Fawad Chaudhry further added: “My head is spinning after reading yesterday’s verdicts on TikTok ban and the removal of the NBP president. What are our courts doing?”

    Chaudhry said that the country has already suffered losses worth billions of dollars due to judicial activism.
