Sehar Mirza, sister of famous Pakistani TikToker Jannat Mirza, has responded to criticism about her wedding celebrations and nikah without a groom present there.
TikToker and social media star Sehar Mirza said in an Instagram post and story that those who criticized the ‘virtual wedding’ should find happiness in others’ joy. Sehar Mirza wrote in her story, “This message is for those asking where the groom is and saying these ceremonies were a waste of money. The groom will come soon.” “These events were for me, not for the boys. After getting married, I had to leave for my husband’s house. I didn’t want to stay.” “When my husband arrives we will have bigger celebrations,” the TikToker wrote.
TikTok influencer and writer Megan Rice went viral on social media when she began a World Religon book club to read the Holy Quran in light of the ongoing genocide of Gaza. In a video, the activist explained the purpose of the club was to combat Islamophobia, racism and understand the significance behind why Palestinian people hold the Quran and its teachings so close to them. This book club included celebrities like rapper Kehlani.
In a recent video uploaded on her TikTok account, Megan slammed the users telling her to be mindful about her decision because embracing Islam would mean more conservatives would come after her. In her video, Megan criticised such users and shared the purpose of her club was to educate everyone about Islam as well as other religions. She only chose to convert to Islam after she found its teachings resonating with her own personal beliefs.
Famous TikToker Fiona James, who is based in Dubai and originally from the Philippines, has converted to Islam during the holy month of Ramadan. With almost 800,000 followers on TikTok, Fiona changed her name to Zainab after accepting Islam at the Islamic Information Centre in Satwa, Dubai. She had been living in the UAE for over eight years and had always been fascinated by the call to prayer from the mosques. Hearing the azan made her feel calm and curious about the religion, and she even memorized parts of it. Zainab shared her story in an interview with Khaleej Times.
According to reports, Zainab, the TikTok influencer who recently converted to Islam, is currently taking online classes from the Islamic Information Centre to deepen her understanding of the religion. She aims to complete the course within a month while also studying and memorizing smaller chapters of the Holy Quran. Zainab’s family is said to be happy and supportive of her decision to embrace Islam.
“I feel very nice and very calm inside me. I embraced Islam on my own. No one forced me to accept this religion,” she added.
Zainab’s Pakistani friend Salman, who is also a TikToker with two million followers, helped her learn about Islam. The two friends have created several videos together for the social media platform.
“We are friends for five years. In Islam, one cannot be forced to embrace religion. Instead, it’s all about getting the right information and meeting the right people. Sometimes we used to discuss it also as she used to ask me questions time and again. I believe this encouraged her to come into the fold of Islam,” said Salman.

Claim: TikToker Dolly set the Margalla Hills on fire leading to a forest fire lasting several days
Fact: TikToker Dolly on her way back from Haripur came across an already lit fire and shot her TikTok
On May 15th 2022, TikToker Dolly uploaded an 11 second video of her performing to a song with a forest fire in the background. On May 17th 2022, this video was viral on Twitter, being shared and condemned by Twitter users with hundreds of thousands of followers. It was widely believed that she lit the fire in order to shoot her video.
Surfing through Dolly’s TikTok account @dollyofficiall, it became clear that 6 days ago, on Thursday, May 12th, 2022 Dolly was attending an event in Haripur where she was specially invited as a TikTok star and influencer. It is the same outfit in which she shot her video with the forest fire in the background. Team Current reached Dolly’s Signature Salon in Gulberg on May 17th, where although we were unable to meet the celebrity herself, we met Usman who is her personal assistant and often appears in her TikToks as well. Usman informed us that the viral 11 second TikTok was shot as an afterthought. Usman later also shared a video with us, embedded below, which was shot when Dolly and Usman found the fire while on the motorway back from Haripur and made a video with a local who claimed to have set the fire himself to protect his children from snakes.
Video shared by Usman from Dolly’s Signature Salon: Dolly explains that while on her way back from Haripur she saw this fire on the side of the motorway and chose to record a TikTok. She also introduces the man who claims to have the set fire himself.
This video conclusively proves that the fire was set before Dolly reached the location. Mainstream news channels such as ARY, GEO, Bol have all covered this event quoting an FIR that was lodged against her and teammates in Kohsar Police Station. Social media users as well as TV channels are connecting this instance of forest fire with another video in which two men are seen setting fire in Margalla Hills. This video was recorded two days after Dolly recorded her own TikTok on May 15th.
Several Twitter users openly condemned Dolly, called for her arrest and shamed her. Eventually the collective internet action led to the registration of an FIR against her at the Kohsar Police, Islamabad. However, it is clear that even though Dolly made a TikTok with a forest fire that has ranged over an expansive region by this point, she did not cause it. Dawn reports that the fire started out in the Chinari area of the Margalla Hills, another fire was also reported in forest 16 of the Saidpur Range earlier on Sunday.

These yearly occurring forest fires are continuously increasing and the blame for these is often misdirected while local authorities such as Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) display negligence and disregard towards establishing a system of pre-emptive mechanisms to deal with this consequence of climate change
The Current reached out to Hareem Shah and asked her who the guy in the picture was. The TikToker revealed that the person in the picture is her husband.
She further told The Current that her husband is from Karachi and is a politician belonging to the Pakistan People’s Party but she refused to give us his name.
Earlier, Hareem said that she can’t reveal her husband’s identity until he takes permission from his first wife.
Hareem said in her live session with Geo news that, “I will reveal his identity soon after I will get the permission.” When asked that who is stopping her, she said: “As I have told earlier that my husband is married and as soon he will take permission from his wife and tell his family, we will announce our marriage.”
Hareem allegedly tied the knot to the PPP politician in a private ceremony. But details about her husband were kept under wraps from the media and public.
Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke about the assault of a female TikToker by hundreds of men near Minar-e-Pakistan earlier this month. He said that he was “ashamed and pained” by what happened, citing the lack of proper upbringing as a vital reason for the destruction we are seeing in society.
While addressing the Punjab Education Convention 2021 in Lahore, the premier said the incidents of harassment and the sex crimes that were taking place now were “not a part of our culture or religion”.
“When I was growing up, nobody could have thought that acts like this would happen [in Pakistan]. I have been to the entire world; the respect for women I saw while growing up existed in Muslim countries but not in the West. A big reason for the destruction we’re seeing is that our children are not being brought up properly,” he added.
PM Khan praised the Punjab government for doing what no other province is doing. He termed the provincial government’s work in the education sector very important, saying education had not been a priority for previous governments.
Recalling his educational journey, from the time when he graduated from Aitchison College and went to England for higher studies, he remarked, “I was made an English public-school boy, not a Pakistani. I was distanced from my culture and my religion through that educational system.”
“The English medium [system] evolved in such a way that there was less emphasis on education and more emphasis on creating desi vilayati (local foreigners). The attitudes and mental slavery of another culture were absorbed.”
Criticising the use of English in functions, the premier said, “An entire function was held in English because of two ambassadors and it was being aired on TV, which was being watched by the common man. How big of an insult it is to our people who don’t know English.”
English should not be a “status symbol”, the premier stressed.
Actor Minal Khan has reacted on the recent Minar-e-Pakistan incident on her Instagram handle. The Nand star has appealed to the government to take strict actions against the 400 members of the mob, involved in the harassment case.
Taking to Instagram stories, the Jalan actor wrote: “Such a shame! My blood boils, I am in a state of shock after going through the footage from Minar-e-Pakistan atrocity!”
She added, “the country fails to protect their own citizens from men like Yazeeds“.
“The country mourns for the martyrs of Karbala today, however it failed to protect their own citizen from 400 yazeeds”, she wrote.
A recently surfaced video shows a woman being sexually assaulted by a large group of men at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on 14 August, Pakistan’s independence day. The incident was confirmed after a First Information Report (FIR) was registered.
Hareem Shah recently made headlines with the announcement of her marriage with a mysterious PPP leader, she has made allegations against politicians. Later, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while talking on the issue, said that the claim of the TikTok star was futile and all this was done to divert attention from other issues.
The TikTok star has now released video messages in which she promised to expose two senior politicians. Shah shared two short videos on Instagram in which she accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s leader Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan and Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan’s leader Farooq Sattar.
In the videos released by the TikToker, she called Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan a ”dirty man”.
Hareem said that both the politicians are trying to prove themselves to be honest and righteous but now she will not remain silent and will reveal their true nature to the world.
TikTok Star said that she knows what kind of a man Chohan is, adding that she remained silent till now but now is set to expose his deeds.
Similarly, she claimed that Farooq Sattar had been begging her to meet him for six months.
Shah said she would soon present evidence to the wives of the two politicians of what they were doing.
It may be recalled that in the past, Shah’s videos with the two politicians had gone viral, in which the two politicians were seen meeting the TikTok star on different occasions in a pleasant mood.
Hareem Shah allegedly married a PPP leader last week, the TikToker stated that she can’t reveal her husband’s identity until his first wife allows.
In an interview with Geo News, Shah clarified that the viral bridal photos were taken for a promotional photoshoot and are not from her wedding ceremony. Her make-up artist Kashaf also confessed to the portal that the promotional photoshoot was for his salon and all the accessories and dresses were sponsored.
In another interview, the TikTok star said, “After confessing my marriage to a PPP member of Sindh Assembly and a provincial minister, I asked the fans to keep my husband’s identity secret for a few days. But despite this, many media houses, including social media, have linked my name with various political figures. All these videos and news are completely baseless and unverified, which is inappropriate.”
She added that, “At the moment, I have not mentioned anyone’s name as my husband, I have known my husband for three or four months already but during that time we did not have any friendship or relationship. We just met two or three times and got married”.
She concluded the interview by saying, “There has been a lot of media coverage about my first marriage and divorce but I want to tell all my fans that I was not married before, I have no children, I have never been divorced and I have never had a boyfriend or made a friend”.
