Ali Khan Tareen has presented a better solution to avoid and lessen harassment cases. He has said that we should give pepper spray to schoolgirls to avoid harassment rather than asking them to wear an Abaya.
The son of senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen took to twitter to give us an alternative for protection of school girls from sexual harassment.
Pepper spray is a chemical mixture that causes severe pain and irritation when it comes in contact with the eyes
But the question is from where in the market we can get pepper spray? Don’t worry if you cannot find any in the market. You can even make a pepper spray at home as well. Read the instructions below to make it.
Gather your supplies
Pepper spray mixture can be made using
household ingredients.
Red chilli powder. It is recommended for its spiciness and ability to irritate the eyes.
Vegetable oil and Rubbing alcohol or spirit. These will be used to mix with the powder to make it to a sprayable substance.
How to prepare?
Add two tablespoons of pepper powder.
Add spirit until the pepper has been completely submerged and then add one tablespoon of vegetable oil. You can also use baby oil.
Leave the mixture overnight.
Then filter your mixture with the help of the coffee filter.
Filtering the mixture will help prevent clogging the nozzle of the spray.
When you are done, pour the mixture in the spray bottle and you are good to go anywhere with your spray.

KP
government ordered school girls to come to school all covered up, making abayas
compulsory for them to avoid harassment. After severe public backlash, Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister took back the order.
People were not happy with the authorities implying that it is women who are responsible for sexual harassment they face. Talk about blaming the victim rather than the committer.
Pushing society towards Stone Ages. Haripur District Education Officer orders girl students of schools to wear abaya (a kind of burqa) for protection, yes protection, from unethical incident. Rein in sexual predators instead of such gimmicks you dumbs pic.twitter.com/hVk6IepRVF
After public backlash, the order was withdrawn by KP’s Chief Minister, Shaukat Yousafzai.
KP Government doesn’t believe in compulsion, and citizens are free to decide what’s best for them. The notification circulating regarding compulsion of Abaya for the girls is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect#KPKUpdatespic.twitter.com/1LhhwEX33V
Minister of Human Rights, Shireen Mazari took to twitter to raise the point that on the issue that the victims should not be restricted but the offenders should be punished.
Sanity prevails. Why should girls be penalised for boys misdemeanours? Punish them for targeting the girls – cannot penalise our girls. Let us not revert back to dictator Zia’s time. https://t.co/504gJvZg9m
Of course there is a lot to be done to remove the mess of decades but we are making progress through hard work as there is no magic wand! https://t.co/KQycbHFFXY
A man has appealed to the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), complaining that he was arrested on trumped-up charges of possessing 60 litres of local liquor, Pakistan Today reported.
According to reports, Muhammad Javed, a resident of Okara district, stated that Lahore’s Defence-A police confiscated from him alcohol worth Rs455,000, including five bottles of Grand Fish, five bottles of Royal Flavored and 13 bottles of Gold Label.
“Defence-A police snatched away 23 branded bottles from my car when I was driving to DD Block of Defence Phase IV,” said the appellant.
“I was taken into custody and a false case of 60-litre local liquor was lodged against me,” he said. In addition, he said that he also had to pay Rs32,500.
Javed inquired as to what became of the alcohol which was recovered from his possession since it would not show up in police records.
On Sept 1, 2019, Defence-A Police Station lodged an FIR against Muhammad Javed and charged him under The Prohibition (Enforcement of Hadd) Order, 1979-3 and The Prohibition (Enforcement of Hadd) Order 1979-4 for possession of “local liquor” on Sept 1, 2019.
According to the FIR, an informant had told the police that Javed was carrying two barrels of local liquor and waiting for customers near Al-Fatah store in DD block, phase 4, DHA. As per the FIR, the police arrested Javed, recovered 60 litres of liquor and also impounded his vehicle.
Defence-A Police SHO Rana Akhtar Ali denied allegations made against his department, saying that Javed is, in fact, a bootlegger and the FIR was registered on the basis of what was found from the spot.
“60-litre liquor was recovered from the accused, who is apparently operating on someone else’s directions. We are investigating the matter and soon the real culprit(s) will also be arrested,” the SHO said.
He further added, “He may go to anyone he wants but we stand with our stance and have solid proof.”

Following a string of custodial deaths due to alleged torture in just the past week, the Punjab police has banned the use of cellphones by officers while on duty and barred them from capturing videos of other police personnel as well. Videos of the incidences of torture had been widely circulated on social media raising outrage.
However, citizens and media personnel will not be banned from taking them inside.
A notification sent by the additional inspector general on behalf of the Punjab Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz to all Punjab police officers stated that it had been observed that police officials were using mobile phones while on duty even though “clear directions in this regard have already been conveyed to all field formations”. It added that it was the responsibility of the field formations “to get these instructions/directions/SOPs implemented in letter and spirit.”
The notification further read: “Frequent violations of these directions/SOPs reflect badly on the performance of supervising officers. In future, no officer below the rank of SHO (Station House Officer) or in-charge of a deployed duty will use [a] cellphone while on duty.”
Lower-ranking officers will instead be allowed to use ordinary phones that do not have the video recording feature.
The letter asserted that it was “strictly forbidden” to make a video of police officers on duty or upload a video of police officers performing their duty and any violation will result in “severe departmental action” against the police personnel involved as well as their supervisory officer.
At least three cases of police torture had surfaced last week including that of the infamous ATM robber Salahuddin Ayubi. Punjab IG expressed extreme displeasure over these deaths in police custody and said that the recent deaths and maltreatment in police custody indicated the irresponsible behaviour of field and senior police officials. The police chief warned that DPOs, SPs, SDPOs and supervisory officers would be held responsible if any such case surfaced again in the future.
Police brutality is a topic which has long been debated. In this regard, Spokesperson to Punjab Chief Minister Dr Shahbaz Gill on Sunday had said that the provincial government would soon introduce reforms in the police force and that a summary in this regard has been sent to Prime Minister Imran Khan for final review.
Criticising the previous governments, Gill said that police were used as a tool for political victimisation in the past but now things would change. He asserted that the present government is striving hard to make things better, adding that a positive change would be visible within six months.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on several occasions has iterated the government’s commitment to bring reforms in the police force to so as to improve its performance. PM Imran had said that he wanted to see independent police in the country.
Meanwhile, this development created outrage on social media.
After series of #PoliceTorture cases #IGPunjab instead of focusing on confidence building measures with public, opening up police to accountability has directed measures to suppress evidence of torture/abuse & hide incompetency. Were these the reforms promised by #PTI? https://t.co/6tG5p6tceP

The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has recommended that the act of triple talaq (instant divorce) should be made a punishable crime.
Replying to a question by Member of National Assembly (MNA) Bashir Virk, CII Chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz informed the NA Standing Committee on Law and Justice that divorce takes place when the word for it, talaq, is uttered thrice in one breath – even if it has been done in jest.
Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem said that there was precedence in Islamic history of such an act being punished by the state, saying that the second caliph of Islam, Hazrat Umar (RA), had punished those who performed the act of instant divorce.
“Therefore, the NA can make laws to make this action a punishable crime,” he said.
Endorsing the law minister’s stance, Dr Ayaz said triple talaq should be made punishable in Fiqah Hanafi.
When inquired about the punishment, Ayaz said that the CII had not determined that as yet. “If the Law Ministry agrees to our suggestion to make it a punishable offence, the punishment can also be determined.”
The law minister warned that making triple talaq a punishable crime would become another mean through which the police would demand bribes.
“If divorce is not a crime, then such legislation should be avoided,” he said. “But if there is precedence of the righteous caliph, then we are bound to follow it as well,” he added.
The committee deferred the discussion on the bill about divorce as well as that on inheritance till the next meeting.
