At least 38 people from Africa have died after their boat overturned near the coast of Yemen, BBC reported.
The boat, which was carrying around 250 people, sank after encountering strong winds.
Search operations continue for nearly 100 people who are still missing.
Local authorities in Yemen said that those on board were migrants, mostly from Ethiopia, who use Yemen as a transit point to reach Gulf states like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, etc.
“Fishermen and residents managed to rescue 78 of the migrants, who reported that about 100 others who were with them on the same boat are missing,” a local official told Reuters, confirming that the boat sank before it reached Yemen’s shores.
97,000 migrants arrived in Yemen from the Horn of Africa last year, as per UN.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah has raised concerns on Sunday over the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) strategy for preparing the federal budget.
Shah voiced concern that PML-N didn’t invite PPP for engagement and dialogue on the budget. “What kind of proposals? What kind of budget? The government did not say anything, nor did they take PPP into confidence,” said the senior politician. Shah was also unaware of the allocation of resources to the provinces, and demanded transparency in the privatization process.
“I don’t know which province is getting what share in giving relief to the people,” he said.
The former opposition leader stressed that, “PPP has shared the entire burden of the government and was also worried about the accountability the party will face due to the federal budget.
“The public will ask us what has been done, what we will answer,” Khursheed Shah questioned.
Its not unusual for talented Pakistani actors to get noticed by Indian filmmakers. One such actor is Sonya Hussyn, who recently shared that she was offered projects from India.
In an interview with ‘Independent Urdu,’ Sonya talked about her career and who she would like to work with. She mentioned Ali Zafar as her favorite on-screen hero, saying he has a special charm.
“I never really thought about it, but when it comes to movies, I find Ali Zafar very charming. He has that charisma of a movie hero. There are many good actors, like Fawad Khan, who also have charm, but when it comes to acting, I would choose Ali Zafar,” she said.
But things got interesting when Sonya talked about her experiences with offers from the Indian film industry. She revealed that she was approached for three different projects. “I have received three film offers from India. One was a Shakespeare screen adaptation of Measure for Measure. The other was a sequel to some old Santosh Kumar film – I can’t recall its name,” she noted.
One offer, in particular, caught her attention—a film with the famous Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi. “For that one, I even had a meeting with the relevant people but then the exchange with India stopped altogether,” she explained, referring to the stop in collaborations between India and Pakistan after the Uri attack and the subsequent ban on Pakistani artists working in India.
A woman has been found dead inside the belly of a snake after it swallowed her whole in central Indonesia, a local official said Saturday.
The husband of 45-year-old Farida and residents of Kalempang village in South Sulawesi province discovered her on Friday inside the reticulated python, which measured around five metres (16 feet).
The mother-of-four had gone missing Thursday night and failed to return home, forcing a search effort, village head Suardi Rosi told AFP.
Her husband “found her belongings… which made him suspicious. The villagers then searched the area. They soon spotted a python with a large belly,” said Suardi.
“They agreed to cut open the python’s stomach. As soon as they did, Farida’s head was immediately visible.”
Farida was found fully clothed inside the snake.
Such incidents are considered extremely rare but several people have died in Indonesia in recent years after being swallowed whole by pythons.
Last year, residents in Southeast Sulawesi’s Tinanggea district killed an eight-metre python, which was found strangling and eating one of the farmers in a village.
In 2018, a 54-year-old woman was found dead inside a seven-metre python in Southeast Sulawesi’s Muna town.
And the year before, a farmer in West Sulawesi went missing before being found eaten alive by a four-metre python at a palm oil plantation.
