    Teenage domestic helper Rizwana has received plastic surgery from doctors on her face, while her head injuries were disinfected during the procedure, ARY has reported. Hospital sources say the procedure was three hours long, while the possibility two or three more plastic surgeries in the future cannot be ruled out.

    “She was shifted to the ward after applying bandage on her wounds,” the doctors said.

    The horrifying case shocked Pakistan when the teenage domestic helper was tortured and abused while working at a civil judge’s home in Islamabad, after she was accused of stealing jewelry. The family has revealed the girl was not paid a single penny by the family for the extensive workload she was doing.

    Since the case went viral, actress and children rights activist Nadia Jamil spoke out publicly against employing children for domestic labor, leading a campaign to get the perpetuators arrested, while prominent celebrities like Mahira Khan, Wahaj Ali and Hamza Ali Abbasi have also lend their voice.

    Jamil shared an update yesterday that Rizwana had opened her eyes, but was still in casts.

    On Sunday, law enforcement officials arrested Kazim Khan on charges of murder and trying to hide evidence. Khan has been arrested for killing and secretly burying his wife, Diane Cristo Khan, in a graveyard in Lahore, Geo has reported.

    Police officials told Geo that Diane was physically tortured and murdered at Lahore’s Factory Area. The murderer was trying to bury his wife when the grave digger called the police, who arrested him on the spot.

    The police also confirmed that they found the murder weapon in the murderer’s possession. Superintendent of Police (SP) Cantt, Owais Shafiq, said that a case has been registered and the murderer is being interrogated. The body of the victim has been shifted to a facility for post-mortem examination.

    A 14-year-old girl married to a policeman in Sialkot has been set on fire after her husband became unhappy with the dowry provided to him.

    According to the complaint filed with the Sialkot police by labourer Tariq Mahmood, his daughter Muneeb Fatima, was married to Constable Waqas Nazir, who was posted at the Satrah Police Station, of Pasrur Tehsil. The marriage took place five months ago, however , when he went to visit their home, he was told by his daughter’s in-laws that she was happy and did not want to meet him.

    Speaking to DAWN, Mahmood elaborated that when Fatima came back to visit him after five months, she revealed details of torture, including being burnt by a clothing iron and being kept in chains.

    Mahmood further reported that his daughter was set on fire by her husband after he sprinkled petrol on her. When the labourer confronted Waqas, he was shot at and given death threats.

    Mahmood said his daughter was tortured by both her husband and his sister, Sadaf.

    Muneeb Fatima is receiving treatment at Tehsil Headquaters Hospital, Pasrur.

    The abuser, according to Dawn, made calls to a journalist and threatened to have him killed. The police, under the orders of the DPO, made several threatening calls to the journalist.

    According to the a spokesperson for the Sialkot district police, Waqas Nazir has been suspended by the DPO, while an inquiry has been launched against him.

    Hussein Alinzi, 59, was arrested in the United Kingdom last year on charges of battering his 15-year-old daughter on the morning she was to take a GCSE English exam.

    Alinzi accused his daughter of deceiving him to secretly meet a boy, and of wearing makeup. The girl has reportedly put on makeup to hide the bruises the father inflicted on her the night before.

    Alinzi was charged with beating his daughter with a metal bar right up to the point where she lost consciousness. However, she later tried to sit for the exam but was immediately taken to the A&E after she complained of dizziness and nauseau.

    The teenager reported to her teachers and the police that her father subjected her, on numerous occasions, to beatings and threats, reportedly saying, “I will run you over”, “I will kill you,” and “I hope you die.”

    Medics reported there were 14 injuries on the girl’s body along with a bite mark on her left temple.

    However, Alinzi, who works as a delivery driver, has avoided jail time after an eight month prison sentence was suspended for 18 months after the girl gave an emotional plea in court. He is also required to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and 25 days of rehabilitation activity days.

    “I initially didn’t want to provide a statement or evidence as I did not want to cause further pain to my family,” the girl said in a statement.

    “When my father was arrested, I felt safe that he was not here, but sad that he was not home.”

    ”My Mum struggles to look after my younger brother and I felt guilty that I bought shame on my family. I love my Dad and I can see that his attitude has now changed. This has made me realise how people can actually change.

    ”Since he has not been living with us, I have become more independent. My brother needs to live with his Dad, and he needs him back.

    “I actually feel happy as all this has changed him, it has made him realise what can and can’t do.”

    During the sentencing, Judge Mr Recorder Peter Wright KC spoke to Alinzi, reminding him to be kinder towards his children:

    “You’re the father of a big family of which there ought to be pride rather than shame, but that shame has been bought on your family by your conduct.

    “You have not behaved like a father should to his children, you behaved like a monster to them.

    “She should have been expected to be loved and protected by you, not assaulted and abused. She lived her life in fear of you, enduring your physical conduct towards her. You are a bully, and what you did was not protecting your child.

    “Your conduct was unforgivable and indicates your will for a combination of fear and violence. This is not acceptable, it is inexcusable and shameful.

    “She is now left with the emotional scar of now being the cause of you becoming separated from the family. This is a feeling that is natural for a child, but she is blameless.”

    An Islamabad court has on Tuesday reserved verdict on appeal to grant physical remand of Somia Asim, the wife of a civil Judge accused of torturing Rizwana.

    During the hearing, the police requested the court for the suspect’s physical remand for further investigation. The defense lawyer argued that the police have been investigating since Somia Asim got arrested, and emphasizing that she has nothing to do with it.

    Furthermore, Somia while giving her statement to the court, shared that she has been facing a lot of criticism and pressure, even though she has not been proven guilty yet. She said that she’s a mother of three and with the current circumstances she feels like committing suicide.

    Stating that she is being given a “media trial”, Somia also complained about media coverage while she is being brought to the court, to which the judge replied that it doesn’t matter because she is fully covered and no one could see her face.

    The judge also inquired about the victim’s health. Rizwana’s sister apprised the court that she is doing better and has been shifted out of the ICU.

    Later, the court reserved the verdict.

    On Monday, the main suspect Somia Asim was arrested from the court after her bail plea was rejected.

    The court went on to issue an arrest warrant against Somia Asim, the wife of a civil judge, after she presented herself in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Farrukh Farid.

    During the court hearing, Asim’s lawyer claimed that she had appeared before the JIT and proclaimed her innocence. He stated that police records did not indicate any instances of violence committed by Asim. In addition, the defense attorney maintained that Somia had tried to send the minor girl back multiple times and had eventually handed her over to her mother.

    However, the plaintiff’s lawyer contested the claims, stating that Rizwana, aged between 13 and 14, had been repeatedly subjected to torture. According to him, employing a minor is an illegal act in itself. He pointed out that the civil judge and his wife should have been aware of this illegality. He further claimed that there were allegations of blackmail against the girl’s parents.

    He questioned how parents could cause such severe injuries to their own daughter and pointed out that the medical report of the girl had not been challenged by defense lawyers.

    The plaintiff’s lawyer questioned the basis on which the accused was seeking an extension of her bail. He argued that if women are granted bail in such grave cases, it would lead to societal decay.

    A shocking incident of severe torture on a 13-year-old housemaid, employed by a civil judge in Islamabad, has come to light.

    Reportedly, the police are facing accusations of reluctance to register a case against the judge, reported Dawn.

    The civil judge, a member of the Punjab Judicial Service on deputation at the Federal Judicial Academy for about three years, and his wife, are alleged to have subjected the girl to merciless beatings and burns.

    According to the Sargodha District Police Officer, the young girl had been hired as a housemaid through a contractor for a monthly salary of Rs10,000, about six months prior to the incident. The girl’s family was informed by the employer that they were dissatisfied, prompting them to take her back to Sargodha.

    On their way back, the mother noticed the injuries on her daughter’s body, and they sought medical treatment in Sargodha, where it was confirmed to be a case of torture. Due to the severity of her head injuries, the girl was transferred to Lahore for further treatment, with the assistance of the Sargodha police.

    Upon receiving a complaint and a medico-legal certificate detailing the girl’s injuries, police reached out to their counterparts in Islamabad, requesting them to register the case. Unfortunately, the response from the Islamabad police was deemed unprofessional.

    Following media attention on the issue, the Sargodha police once again approached the capital police to file the case. However, the Islamabad police asked for the physical presence of the complainant at their station, despite having received all relevant documents from Sargodha.

    The girl’s father lodged a complaint with the capital police for the case to be registered against the employer at the Humak police station. Police sources also suggested the possibility of a case being registered against the judge for hiring an underage maid and concealing facts.

    The complainant detailed the horrific condition in which they found their daughter, with injuries to her head, hands, legs, and broken teeth. She revealed that she endured daily torture by the judge’s wife, who sometimes denied her food and confined her to a room.

    In response to the allegations, the civil judge claimed that the girl had injured her own head and that his wife had questioned her about a theft incident involving gold ornaments. He further claimed that the marks on her face were a result of her habit of eating clay.

    This distressing incident has raised concerns about the treatment of domestic workers and the need for swift and serious action against such perpetrators.

    Police on Friday arrested a madrassa teacher for torturing a child in Islamabad.

    A video of the suspect in which he could be seen torturing a child went viral on social media. Police registered an FIR against him and he was later taken into custody from a madrassa adjacent to the Sector I-10 center.

    The Islamabad Police shared details on Twitter, requesting people to be more mindful and aware of their child’s life and wellbeing after sending them to educational institutions and madrasas.

    “All parents are requested to stay informed about the condition of their kids in educational institutions and madrasas. Call-15 immediately in any such situation,” tweeted Police.

    A Pakistani man and four of his family members in Britain have been sentenced to years in prison after forcing his wife to become a house slave, subjecting her to cruelty and torture from October 2017 to April 2019.

    The husband, Mohammed-Shuaib Arshid, brought his wife from Pakistan to the UK, after an arranged marriage, to their house in Hillingdon, West London, where he lived with his mother Nabila Shaheen, father Arshid Sadiq, brother Aqeel Arshid, and sister Zaib Arshid.

    According to court details, the woman was forbidden from leaving the house or attending college, and could not contact her family members back in Pakistan. Her personal identity documents were taken from her, leading her to begging her husband for purchasing basic toileteries as she had no cash of her own.

    The woman was subjected to torturous behavior by being forced to cook and clean around the house all day, and on one occasion was even forced to drink engine oil by the family. She was threatened with death by family members.

    The court said that during these two years, the woman was subjected to both mental and physical abuse at the hands of the five family members, leaving her with long term psychological trauma.

    According to Paul Jenkins, a senior district crown prosecutor for the CPS: “The victim believed that they were moving into a safe family home with a loving husband, but the subsequent actions of [the family] proved that this was not the case.

    “The victim was subject to regular abuse whilst under their care, resulting in serious physical and psychological harm.”

    A CPS spokesman spoke of the survivor’s plight: “Being the victim of violence or sexual assault is undoubtedly a harrowing experience – but when this abuse is ‘honour-based’, the challenges can often feel impossible to overcome.

    “If someone is seen to have dishonoured or brought shame on a family or community, they can be ‘punished’ through threatening behaviour, rape, kidnap, false imprisonment, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and even murder – also known as honour killings.”

    The husband Mohammed-Shuaib Arshid was jailed for 11 years; father Arshid Sadiq to seven years; mother Nabila Shaheen to four years; the siblings Aqeel and Zaib to 21 months each.

    The Scarsdale International School in Lahore has suspended five female students on Tuesday including the four accused of torture.

    In a report, Geo news has revealed that a three-person investigating committee was established by the administration to look into the case.

    The investigative committee has been asked to conduct the inquiry within 10 days and submit the report.

    “Action will be taken against those responsible in light of the investigation carried out by the committee,” said the administration.

    After a video of the girls hitting the victim went viral on social media on January 21, the police filed a first information report (FIR) against the accused under sections 337A I 354, and 379 of the PPC.

    The FIR was filed by the victim’s father, Imran Younas. In the FIR, he claimed that his daughter’s classmate was a drug addict who wished for his daughter to work for her.

    One of the girls allegedly also possessed a dagger, according to the FIR. In addition, the victim’s father said that the suspects stole his daughter’s gold chain and a locket while they were attacking her.

Shahid narrated horrifying details of Arshad Sharif’s autopsy report, including that his nails had been pulled out, his fingers and ribs were also broken and that he had been shot from a close range, including one that was fired at his head.

    The “On the Front” host further said that there were 10 American instructors and trainers at the shooting range that Sharif had visited before being killed.

    “At eight o clock on the night of October 23, Arshad Sharif was shot while sitting in the car with Khurram, who took him [Arshad Sharif] by a long route instead of the usual one on the day the anchorperson was martyred,” he said.

    It was also revealed in Dunya News program that Khurram usually used the shooting range road, but that night he took the Magadi Highway route instead, despite its longer distance.

    On his program, Kamran Shahid showed pictures of Arshad Sharif’s body, including close-up photos of his hands, fingers, wrist and a bullet wound.

    Shahid later took to Twitter and wrote, “Deleted video of my show that shows the pics of the hands of late Arshad Shareef in the respect of the family — intention is only to pressurise this Govt to tell the truth about his brutal murder— issue the post mortem report and find the killers!”
