Netflix documentary ‘Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer story’ has been panned by families of the serial-killer’s victims for profiteering off from their tragedy and glorifying a killer.
While accepting the Golden Globes Award for Best Actor, Evan Peters said in his speech how hard it was to do the film, and how he hoped it would further lead to some good in the world.
The mother of one of Dahmer’s victims has criticized Peters for his speech in an interview with TMZ. She pointed out that Netflix consistently profits from making movies and documentaries about serial killers, and will glamorize and further add grief to the families who suffered because of Dahmer.
‘Nothing good will come from Evan’s award for the Netflix series. She says it just adds to the grief for the families of the people Dahmer killed, replaying the tragedy over and over.’
The mother said that Peter’s should have made his acceptance speech about the families who had suffered because of Dahmer’s action, and also encourge Hollywood to stop glorifying serial killers.
“Evan should have used his acceptance speech to mention the families who are still suffering from Dahmer’s crimes, or to say Hollywood should put an end to telling stories about killers and glorifying them.”

‘Law and order situation in KP alarming’: Politicians and journalists condemn Senior Lawyer Latif Afridi’s assassination
Former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and renowned jurist Abdul Latif Afridi has been assassinated on Monday in a firing incident inside the Peshawar High Court bar room.
Despite the regular tight deployment of forces at the entrance of the high court, the incident took place when Latif Afridi was sitting with other lawyers in the bar room when a gunman opened fire at him.
According to Geo News, the lawyer was shot six times. Latif Afridi was 79.
The assailant is currently in police custody. “The police have arrested the accused and identified him as Adnan Afridi,” the officer said, revealing that the attacker was related to the slain jurist. Adnan is the son of Judge Aftab Afridi who was killed in 2021.
It is pertinent to mention that Latif Afridi was acquitted in the murder case of Adnan’s father.
In 2021, the judge was attacked as unknown assailants opened fire on his car. However, Latif, the then-SCBA president, had denied his involvement in the incident and assured his full cooperation in the investigation.
A few media reports have said that the police have termed the murder a matter of personal enmity between the two families while further investigations are underway.
However, several politicians and journalists came forward to condemn the attack.
Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow and grief over the “brutal killing” of the senior lawyer.
“I pray that the bereaved family bear this loss with fortitude. The worsening law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is alarming,” the PM noted, adding that the provincial government should take immediate measures in this regard.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan also expressed his condolences and prayers.
Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari condemned the murder, calling Latif a strong supporter of democracy and a staunch opponent of extremism.
Other politicians also condemned the tragic episode.
Similarly, lawyer and activist Jibran Nasir, Journalist Asma Shirazi, and others expressed grief at the killing.

‘Complicated process’, ECP responds to delay in LG polls results and rigging allegations
Amid questions on delayed results and allegations of rigging, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has commented on the second phase of Local Government (LG) elections in Karachi, Hyderabad.
The commission explained that compiling the results is, “a complicated process” and said it takes time to prepare the result of one union council.
In its statement on Monday, the ECP said the results are being transferred to the offices of Returning Officers (RO) from all polling stations across the city.
The provincial election commissioner said that each RO had to compile the result of at least five UCs, which “is causing a delay in releasing poll results”.
However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) openly accused the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), provincial administration and the electoral body of wrongdoing, warning that any attempt to “change the results” after voting would lead to a strong reaction.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Karachi President Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said: “We are not getting results from the returning officers despite 18 hours of delay since the conclusion of polling.”
He strongly condemned the delay and called on the concerned authorities to stop the ROs who are “trying to change the results”.
He said that a lot of people from the PPP also voted for JI. He further said that his party has won over 100 seats, adding that there is ambiguity on the rest of the seats.
As of now, it’s being reported that PPP leads with victorious on 46 UCs, Jamat-e-Islami has secured 17, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) 13, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) three, Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI-F) two, while banned organisation Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) and an independent have one won seat each.
Voting started early on Sunday morning amid a low turnout, however, official results are still not declared as of Monday afternoon. It is pertinent to mention that a day before the polls, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan announced that they are boycotting the local government polls

Prince Harry breaks silence about the deleted content from his tell-all memoir
On Tuesday, 10 January 2023 Prince Harry finally released his much-talked-about tell-all memoir titled Spare. The memoir not only offers details about the Duke of Sussex’s childhood, but it also includes vivid and controversial details about his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales and her death, his relationship with his brother, Prince William, and his father, King Charles III. In fact, the memoir also makes serious revelations about his controversial courtship and marriage to the American actress Meghan Markle and inside details on how and why the royal couple stepped back from their royal roles.
In a recent interview with Telegraph, Prince Harry made the revelation that while the released version of his book is just 416 pages long, he along with his ghost-writer J. R. Moehringer penned an initial draft for Spare that was 800 pages long. Prince Harry revealed that he cut plenty of content from his recently released memoir Spare that he could have easily released as a whole other book.
In the interview, the royal actually disclosed that while he could have shared so much more, plenty of stories in the first draft were actually to provide a backstory for the writer and not intended for publication. In fact, Prince Harry went ahead and said that he made the cuts according to “the scale of things (he) I could include for (his) family members.”

He explained, “Look, anything I’m going to include about any of my family members, I’m going to get trashed for. I knew that walking into it. But it’s impossible to tell my story without them in it, because they play such a crucial part in it.”
Prince Harry added, “But there are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know. Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me.”

The Duke of Sussex explained, “Now you could argue that some of the stuff I’ve put in there, well, they will never forgive me anyway. But the way I see it is, I’m willing to forgive you for everything you’ve done, and I wish you’d actually sat down with me, properly, and instead of saying I’m delusional and paranoid, actually sit down and have a proper conversation about this, because what I’d really like is some accountability and an apology to my wife.”

However, regardless of plenty of cuts, the book holds all the major details about the British royal family from Prince Harry’s own point of view which will definitely be a new perspective. Reportedly, the book spills details on how Prince Harry admits he actually experimented with cocaine, cannabis, and magic mushrooms. Other revelations in the book include, how he lost his virginity, how he killed over 20 people, how he discovered Queen Elizabeth’s demise from the BBC, and how he was pretty uncomfortable when he saw one of Meghan’s “love-making scenes” among several other things. Harry’s memoir titled Spare was officially released on January 10th, 2023, and has been in the tabloids ever since.

‘Us ne hmein test kiya, ab us ki bari’: Khan says vote of confidence will be tabled against PM Shehbaz
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, in an exclusive interview on Saturday, said that Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif will be tested through a no-confidence motion.
Speaking on Hum News’ programme Hum Meher Bokhari Kay Sath, Khan said, “Uss ne humein test keeya, abb uski baari” (He tested us, now it is his turn).
He said the party would hash out the details of the move in a meeting on Sunday (today) and carry out planning for not only the trust vote but also “other plans to fully thrust them in a testing situation now”.
When asked about the late-night voting on a confidence vote in Punjab Assembly, Khan said not many people knew this would happen at night, his party kept it secret. According to him, the party completed the numbers first without any bribes and horsetrading and then took the vote of confidence.
The PTI chief also praised the way Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) stood behind the PTI and supported it. “The way Elahi is standing with us, there was immense appreciation in the party. He was the chief minister and made a real sacrifice. We are recommending he merges the party with ours.”
About the KP assembly, he said that it will be dissolved within a week.
During the interview, Khan mentioned that he spent his three and a half years in power in difficulty because his government was a coalition. He said that’s why his party has insisted on a merger between PTI and PML-Q.
The former prime minister said that PM Shehbaz’s conference in Geneva was equivalent to making fun of Pakistan. He warned that there will be consequences to it in the future.
Opening up about the extension given to former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, he termed it his “mistake”. He revealed that at the time Bajwa himself sent a message that if he doesn’t get an extension, it will be difficult for him [Bajwa].
He said that after securing the extension Bajwa changed as he begun asking Khan to give NROs to the Opposition.

He revealed that due to frustrations slowly creeping into his life, he wasn’t able to stay as energetic as he was. Which is why his relationships were being affected. In an interview with bcci.tv, he said, “In my case, in denial, frustration was creeping in. I was very cranky, very snappy in my space. It was not fair on (wife) Anushka (Sharma), my closed ones, its not fair on the people who support you. So I had to take responsibility and kind of put things in perspective.”

He further added, “I was far off from my cricket. My attachments, my desire, had totally taken over. That’s when I realised that I can’t be away from who I am. I have to be true to myself.
