Usman Mukhtar, who won hearts as Dr Haris in Sabaat, has tied the knot in an intimate nikkah ceremony in Islamabad.
Announcing the news on social media, Mukhtar shared pictures from the nuptials and introduced his wife.
“Dear world, I married this amazing woman today in a small socially distant gathering,” said Usman. “Our big day was supposed to be on April 2, but due to the lockdown restrictions, we had to pull it back.”
The actor further said: “Zunaira Inam Khan. Thank you for making me the luckiest man on earth.”
“I haven’t felt such happiness in a very long time. You’ve stood by me in the moments I was down and amplified the happy moments. Been my rock and my support. I am blessed.”
While the groom looked dapper in a white and gold embroidered kurta shalwar, the bride looked radiant in a light pink and gold ensemble.
Mukhtar’s co-stars and others from the entertainment industry including Aiman Khan, Ameer Gilani and Shahzad Shaikh sent their good wishes to the newlyweds.
Wishing the happy couple all the best for the new chapter in their lives.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has a fine sense of humour and we often witness it in his interviews, public appearances and interactive sessions on social media.
After a long break, the actor recently held an #AskSRK session on Twitter during which he teased fans about his upcoming projects, gave some hilarious responses and shared some words of wisdom before going back to “doing more of nothing”.
Have 15 minutes before I go into doing more of nothing! Thought will spend it with you all and do a quick #AskSRK 3…2….1….go!
SRK, who has not been seen on the big screen since 2018 in Zero, told fans that he is working on his next film and that all his upcoming films will feature him.
“Bhai bana raha hoon…bana raha hoon,” said the megastar when asked when he will be seen on the big screen.
When a fan asked him when he will be announcing his next film, SRK said: “Announcements are for airports and railway stations my friend…movies ki hawa toh khud ban jaati hai.”
It is pertinent to mention here that on New Year, SRK, in a quirky video, had promised fans that he will return to the big screen in 2021. As per details, SRK will be part of the action-thriller Pathan, alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
Announcements are for airports and railway stations my friend….movies ki hawa toh khud ban jaati hai….. https://t.co/1i2bYnWGPc
Meanwhile, SRK also shared some words of wisdom, advising a fan to mix passion and stability and that age is just a number.
Passion normally doesn’t guarantee payment so one has to find a mix. A lots of passion and a good amount of stability. Don’t make it an either or choice….or mutually exclusive. Do a bit of both please https://t.co/jpH1GhACfu
Age is a number….work hard and it will all happen well. I started in films at 26 if that helps. Just don’t waste your years that’s all. https://t.co/9lcBqsY6yZ
The actor also shared that he has never been good at multiple-choice questions and that he hopes his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wins this year because he wants to drink coffee in the trophy cup.
Yasir Hussain has addressed all controversies surrounding him and has opened up on why he feels he ends up in one.
Speaking to BBC Urdu, Yasir said: “Our industry is very hypocritical – it has always been. The actors in our industry are hypocrites. Whenever I get into a controversy, they call me. Why do they call me? Who are they to talk to me about the controversy if I have done something right or wrong? They talk to me for like 15 minutes over a phone call and then just hang up.”
“Why don’t they speak about it on social media and say they support me?,” questioned Yasir, adding: “They will not because they know if they will support me or say that they support my point of view, they will get bashed as well. I don’t care about the backlash, but they do.”
Talking about his “controversial” comments, Yasir asked why don’t people question the talk show hosts or the channels for asking silly questions.
“I went on a show and was asked some controversial questions. They told me that if I will not answer the questions then I have to drink some spicy drinks. I had no other option but to answer those questions – it was either that or I give myself a stomach ulcer. I even took my name or their name to play safe but they told me saying that taking our or your name is not allowed. So I had to take some names.”
The actor further said: “I took Azfar Rehman’s name because I knew he won’t mind as he is one of my closest friends in the industry. Even he said in an interview that I am overrated. This is because we know each other and we won’t mind passing such comments on each other.”
“Why am I always wrong? Why aren’t the hosts, the producers or makers of those shows are not wrong?,” asked Yasir.
“People say that I am controversial and share only controversial stuff. I also share good things but no one shares that,” said Yasir. “No one talks about my good things, they only share my controversies because they know that no one will read anything which is not masalaydaar.”
Meanwhile, talking about his comments on Diriliş: Ertuğrul being aired on Pakistan Television, Yasir said that he was not against the series being aired but was pushing for a joint production venture between the two countries.
Hussain is well known for speaking his mind and passing statements which often evolve into controversies. Recently, his comments on a television show erupted a clash between him and Shahroz Sabzwari. When Yasir was asked to name an actor who should have stayed on television instead of doing films, the actor had named Shahroz.
With crucial NA-249 by-poll in Karachi on April 29 just around the corner, candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who is the owner of Ismail Industries — parent company of Candyland and Bisconni — has a surprise for constituents.
Ismail, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Amjad Afridi and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal among others are the candidates for the lower house seat that fell vacant after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda resigned from the same.

“By the grace of Allah, I am able to announce some details about my next film,” said Sakina in the announcement. “I am so pleased to say Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui and Asad Siddiqui (not related) are confirmed cast members.”
In a successive post, the veteran actor and director revealed the female lead and some additional details about the film.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs (AJK) & Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Ali Amin Gandapur has been spotted letting a minor kid drive a car.
A video tweeted by senior journalist Mansoor Ali Khan showed at least two other people accompanying Gandapur as the fourth individual in the car, the kid, cruised off the road at an unknown location.
“Just spoke to Ali Amin Gandapur and this is what he had to say: ‘Why does it bother anyone when it is my land, my son and my car?’,” he claimed.
Later, Gandapur tweeted the same:
Firstly traffic law applies on road , highway or motorway so no law is violated upgrade ur knowledge secondly it’s my own land my own vehicle and my own son and thirdly grow up mr mansoor ali khan and others who negatively commented and mind ur own businesses
— Ali Amin Khan Gandapur (@AliAminKhanPTI) March 29, 2021
Although Gandapur is not new to controversy, it merits a mention that number of incidents of underage kids driving in Pakistan have recently shot up.
Earlier, a viral video showed a five-year-old boy standing behind the wheel of a black Toyota Land Cruiser V8.

The Pakistan Day celebrations at Parade Avenue in Islamabad, which took place on March 25 caught everyone’s attention this year for a different reason. The unusual thing that happened was a performance by a Turkish musical band, whoplayed the theme song of Diriliş: Ertuğrul’s on the occasion.
Referring to the performance, a Twitter user said: “You think the Turks secretly laugh at our unhealthy obsession with Ertuğrul?”
While the tweet was meant to be humorous tweet, it started a debate on whether Pakistani culture reflects India or Turkey given most Pakistanis have grown up watching Bollywood.
you think the Turks secretly laugh at our unhealthy obsession with Ertegrul?
“Don’t know is it unhealthy? The whole country obsesses over Bollywood, a propaganda industry for a country that’s been trying to destabilize us for decades. I think a little Ertugrul is nothing in comparison,” said one Twitter user.
Dunno…is it unhealthy? The whole country obsesses over Bollywood, a propaganda industry for a country that’s been trying to destabilize us for decades. I think a little Ertugrul is nothing in comparison. https://t.co/ZWqvj1kwNB
Another user said: “We are obsessed with Bollywood because it has not been a century since Pakistan and India have been parted. We share the language and culture with them. Idk what do we have in common with Turks though.”
Shafqat Mahmood please work on curriculum of schools & colleges. The kids on Twitter think we share culture with Turkey and don’t share anything with India. These kids really need to learn their history before they start saying that even the existing Pakistan culture is fake.
india is a multi-ethnic society. there is no ‘indian ethnicity’ that we all share. we just lived together in hundreds of different areas, with our own ancestors, languages, customs & traditions. a short span of the British raj doesn’t mean that we were all a nation at any point
Saba Qamar recently confirmed that she will soon begetting married to Australia-based entrepreneur Azeem Khan. Soon after the announcement, a woman alleged Khan of harassment in an “open letter to Saba Qamar”.
“I am one of those women he needlessly dragged all across social media,” said the woman in the letter. “For what? A few likes and views?”
She alleged that Khan leaked pictures and videos of her from a female-only group and posted it on social media because of which she received rape and death threats.
“His posts led to multiple messages in my inbox from guys telling me they will find me and they will rape me or kill me,” said the woman adding: “We won’t stand by women who stand by men like these.”
Khan, however, has denied the allegations and says that he has been wrongly accused.
In a video message, the businessman said: “I only want to say one thing, what is the point of uploading statues on social media. Let’s come through a proper channel.”
“I don’t care about Saba’s past, neither does she care about mine,” he added.
Pehli Si Muhabbat may not be high on masala and is developing slowly, rather at a snail’s pace, but it certainly comes with a strong message. The latest episode of the drama (Episode 9) sheds light on a topic often overlooked in Pakistani dramas – the importance of a woman’s consent in marriage.
Aslam (Sheheryar Munawar) and Rakshi (Maya Ali) have finally started telling family members about their love for each other and their desire to marry. Aslam has broken off his engagement with Bushra (Hina Afridi) and has let his Mamu know that he cannot marry her. On the other hand, Rakshi’s father Faizullah (Shabbir Jan) has decided to finalise Rakshi’s rishta with his friend’s son. When he tells his wife Nargis (Rabia Butt) of this, the conversation that follows needs to be broadcast everywhere loud and clear.
When Faizullah tells his wife that in their riwaj and culture, girls are not consulted before their own marriage, Nargis says: “Allah nay auraton kay baaray main jo ahkamat diye hain na, unkay baaray main bhi thora sa jaan lo. Waisay tum mard bhi na baray theek ho. Deen bhi sirf mardon ka rakhtay ho. Nikkah say pehlay Allah nay beti ki marzi janana zaruri kiya hai.”
In response, Faizullah dismisses Nargis’ comments, saying that she doesn’t know anything.
“Allah ki kitaab na humain bhi parhayi jaati hai Faizullah. Bismillah aur Ameen toh humari bhi hoti hai,” adds Nargis before leaving Faizullah to reflect on her words.
In a country where women are often overlooked in the rishta process and told that the elders (read: men) in their family decide their future, such scenes and conversations give the audiences food for thought and can enable the wheels of change. It is also refreshing to watch this on-screen because most dramas paint those women wanting to marry of their choice as besharam (shameless) and wanton with their end also usually terrible.
Kudos to Faiza Iftikhar for these brilliant dialogues and to Anjum Shehzad for wonderfully executing the scene. Butt has been a powerhouse of talent throughout the episode, conversing through her eyes and body language and delivering one blazing scene after another – whether it was her conversation with Faizullah, confrontation with Niggi Apa or the way she handled Rakshi.
Another person who is really standing out in the drama is Munawar. Sheheryar has owned Aslam to the very core and the scene in which he gives Niggi Apa a taste of her own medicine makes you cheer on him.
Now that Aslam and Rakshi’s secret is out in the open, it will interesting to see what happens next. All I hope is that the drama starts moving faster else audiences will lose interest.
A 40-year-old woman and her 22-year-old daughter have allegedly committed suicide in India after an obscene video showing the latter went viral on social media in both India and Pakistan.
Gonda police of India’s Uttar Pradesh (UP) said the incident took place in Nagrasen village. “The duo was upset ever since the video of the young girl and her lover went viral.”
Villager Pappu Paswan told police that the 22-year-old had gotten married in December. However, Satyam, a former partner of hers from a caste deemed superior, used to harass the woman even after marriage. On the night of March 22, Satyam sent an obscene video of him and the woman to the her husband and made it viral on social media.
The video also went viral in Pakistan with people on this side of the border widely sharing it.
“This affected her relationship with her husband and the woman and her mother were devastated. They did not come out of their house all of Tuesday and on Wednesday, we spotted them hanging,” said the villager.
Satyam has been arrested and booked for abetment of suicide and under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 that prohibits discrimination, prevent atrocities and hate crimes against scheduled castes and tribes.
“The accused was blackmailing the woman by saying he would tell the husband about their relationship. He also misbehaved with her and made an obscene video. Thereafter, he started blackmailing her with the video, asking her to live with him. When the woman refused, he sent the video clip to her husband,” said Gonda cop Shailesh Pandey.
